Interaction with Guests
A little, I always check to see if all is well or if there is anything needed each day. If guests want the interaction I will stick around although I dont like to be too pushy, I feel that they want to do their own thing and enjoy their time on their own then you are welcome to enjoy the resort.
Breezy, quiet most of the time, lovely sunsets.
Beautiful at night, you can see all the stars, moonlit nights are particularly special. I can see why the Maya placed their pyramids in such a way to see all that beauty.
Busses are every half an hour except sundays.
If you haven't got a vehicle and don't want to cook, there are nice places to eat and I will take you there no problem.
Hey, enjoy the peace and quiet and the homely atmosphere. We would like however that you take care of all the household items, furniture, crockery etc.
Conserve energy, switch off unnecessary lights. Water is caught from the roof in vats so only when it rains we can fill them. We don't often run out but sometimes we get an unusually dry season.
Smoking is allowed only outside and ashtrays are provided.
Conserve energy, switch off unnecessary lights, fans, AC when you go out.
Audrey is flexible, generous, and accommodating! A wonderful easy going host! We loved her!
The property is very quaint. Vintage measuring cups and hats hang on the walls of our cottage. The windows looks out to the rolling hills and wild horses on the property. In the distance you can hear the howler monkeys on the near by river at night.
One of our concerns staying there was how would we get around and how would we get there? It turns out the bus is very easy to catch on the western highway. Audrey was very generous in giving us rides when we were hungry or needed anything. We rode in the back of her truck under the stars towards San Ignacio nearly every night for dinner.
Everything worked out perfectly! I recommend this farm stay to everyone!
Great place, very nice hosts, many animals, we loved it. Many thanx to Audrey and Graham from us.
My husband and I travelled to Belize not really knowing the area. Although the lodge was not that easy for us to find, once we arrived we were very surprised! In a great way. The cabana is lovely, actually better than the photos would suggest. We initially planned to stay for five days but our experience on the grounds and especially with Audrey was exceptional. So we extended our stay for an additional four days. Audrey was the most accommodating host I have ever experienced. She helped us with grocery shopping and getting to the city of Balmopan. She was always friendly. Even the dogs are friendly! We had the opportunity discuss many different things and because we are in the process of relocating she gave us a lot of insight into how to best navigate the country. I would recommend Foresters Lodge to anyone planning on visiting the Cayo district of Belize. And would stay again if the opportunity arose.
We couldn't have asked for a better experience with Audrey and her team. She went out of her way to acquaint us with the local area and show us around. She provided great conversation, comfortable housing and a good location for bird watching (we saw parakeets, toucans, kiskadees, and many others).
The cabana is roomy and had everything we needed including eggs from Audrey's chickens. The back deck looks out over the valley for miles. We felt completely at home and will definitely be back. In fact, we regard Audrey and her caretaker, Graham as friends.
We were a group of 5 male medical students who stayed at one of the cabanas during our time in the hospital at Belmopan and couldn't recommend Forrester's Lodge enough as the perfect place to stay if you want to to explore this area of Belize.
The cabana is extremely spacious (we comfortably had seven on some nights) well equipped and provides stunning views of the local area. The surrounding vicinity is very safe with friendly people and access to some amazing places on your doorstep. For great food and decent night life head to San Ignacio, a short drive away. For waterfalls and serene swimming spots head to big Rock falls or Spanish lookout. For a few cold beers and a perfect sunset just stay on the veranda!
What really makes this property stand out however is the owner - Audrey. She is on hand whenever you need anything, from unlimited water refills to a bottle of tomato ketchup Audrey's hosting abilities know no bounds. She even let us drive her minivan around belize which was a great help for getting into the hospital. However Audrey became more than a host to us over our time at foresters lodge and we ended up eating with Audrey most nights of our stay. Her stories will have you in stitches. We plan to take her out in London when she's back in the UK to see if we can match her hosting abilities. We're doubtful.
So in all in all we couldn't recommend staying here more. Hillside cabana + panoramic views + AirBnBs best host? What would you want.
This was my 8th trip to Belize and by far this was my favorite place that I have stayed. Audrey's place is in the perfect location for exploring Cayo, close to San Ignacio, Belmopan and everything in between. This place far exceeded the pictures and description. It is in a very safe village in BZE and the views and sunsets are breathtaking. The staff is lovely and the house was cleaned every day. I felt so much at home at Audrey's and will definitely stay there during future visits. My daughter and I really didn't want to leave at all.
My husband and I have traveled all over the world and have stayed in several places with Airbnb. Our stay at Forester's Lodge Cabana #1 was one of the best.
Audrey is simply fantastic. She is well organized, friendly, helpful but non-intrusive. The cabana was very clean and was better stocked in every arena than any place I have ever stayed. Many places only give you the bare necessities in the kitchen. Audrey supplied you with things as if you were actually going to live there! As a gourmet cook, I loved it!
The cabana is large and spacious. The bathroom is the size of many bedrooms! There were plenty of towels for us, including face cloths which doesn't happen very often. Lots of hot water and although we always conserve water, no matter where we travel, we didn't feel like we were camping.
The location was perfect for us as we wanted to explore the Cayo district. Nothing was too far but having our own vehicle definitely gave us plenty of freedom. We traveled all the way to Placencia and back in one day with time to spare.
This cabana has TV, albeit a small one and the cable selection was excellent. We were happy to have so many English channels to choose from.
Perhaps most importantly, the internet was amazingly good. We had anticipated having slow and sporadic internet in Belize. The internet at Audrey's place was fabulous as she doesn't use the government system but is hooked up to a system provided by the Mennonites.
Everybody on the property was wonderful from Rosa the cleaner to Miguel who cut us coconuts on our last day to Graham who gave us excellent directions to get to the store on our first day.
We stayed in four places during our stay in Belize and Audrey's was by far the best. You will be delighted with your choice if you are looking for relative quiet and privacy combined with the feeling of being safe and secure.

About the Host, Audrey
I originally was born in Belize but grew up in the U.K. and returned to Belize in 2001 to start Foresters Lodge. I love animals and have 5 horses that I rescued, cat, dogs, birds and all other wildlife that might wander on my 15 acres. I love adventure and like to be outdoors turning my hands to something, I almost finish building a stone bathroom with my workers, hate paperwork and being at a desk. I also practice martial arts and enjoy travelling around Central America Competing and Judging events. I can assist you with the local attractions and adventures in the area. I chose to live in this area due to the abundance in flora and fauna, the tranquility, stress free lifestyle and the temperate weather. I invite you to Foresters Lodge to experience the Cayo District and everything Belize has to offer.
Some tours I can take you there instead of booking in town which is more expensive. cahal Pech, Xunantunich, Zoo, cave tubing, blue hole etc. the only one I can't do for you is the ATM ,that needs a guide.
I am very easy going and placid person, we shall get along like a house on fire, when you get here it will be as if we have always known each other. I would like to
travel more myself, Australia, New Zealand and maybe Africa but which part I don't know yet, Kenya sounds good.
When you stay with us we go all out to please you, you will be taken care of and most of all our prices are great.
