Really pleased with the accommodation. The location was superb, just along the street from Central park and two streets from the subway. The room was comfortable, clean and well equipped - kitchen, tv and DVD player. It did look as if there was WIfi but there were no instructions to hand. The bathroom was clean( great shower) with sufficient clean towels, hair dryer etc. It was a great place to relax after a hectic day.
We have had a good time during our 6 nights stay in NY. The choice of an appt instead of a hotel was for sure the right option. We arrived at the end of the day so we had to pickup the keys from a doorman a couple of streets further. But when we tried to open the door, we discovered that the adress was changed. We finally stayed at 67 W 83rd street. The appartment was simple but correct. With very little investment it might be very good. The only min point was the absence of hanging and the simple glass window. We had a connexion problem with the Wifi but Sally sent us a person who fixed immediatly the problem. The aprt was convenently located. Central Park was just at the end of the street and the subway 2 blocks away on 81st, making it possible to reach Times Square only in 4 stops.
The reservation was canceled 17 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This apartment is in a great (website hidden) seems like a safe neighbourhood. Close to Central Park-ideal to go jogging in the morning. The metro stop is only 2 streets down and also the museum of natural history is very close by-which is definitely worth going to.the laundrette is on the corner and there is a small supermarket a few minutes walk on Columbus ave. if you don't want to cook-the kitchen is tiny-there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. My main issue was the shower. It chucks out scolding hot water for 2 minutes then goes cold and I just couldn't get it (website hidden) the last day it was just cold water coming out.also there was a problem with the bath drain that I reported to Sally, but didn't hear back from her if she was going to get it sorted. We had no problems picking up the keys up the road.we never met Sally though.the widows are single glazed,so be prepared for some weekday traffic noise-the weekend was was quiet.the apartment is lovely and warm to come back to after sightseeing all day in the cold winter.
Great location! The apartment is very comfortable, lot of things around. The hot water for the shower lasts only a few minutes, second guest has to wait some time to shower. We stayed for 1 week in January. The weather was really cold the last 2 days and the heat wasnt enough at night. Other than these issues everything was perfect. Very clean and WIFI connection worked fine!
Great apartment at a very cozy neighborhood. Few minutes to the Subway. Recommend as a really nice place to stay at!
This apartment was perfunctory. A few changes would have made it more appealing in my opinion. A newer quilt on bed, matched higher quality sheets, newer towels (one was tattered and had a stain), and another lamp. In the photos the apartment appeared newer than in actuality. The price listed doubled when reservtions set. I was told the prices listed were off season prices, which is reasonably, but I found misleading. There were a couple of different names listed, Sally Fleetwood, Sally Rodrigres, and a man's photo, so I never knew who I was actually renting from. It was not the usual airbnb experience. Seemed impersonable and more a business for someone to try and make money ...nothing wrong with that but there seemd to be an indifference to providing a nice place. I hope the renter makes the changes because it is in a great location although not in a "beautiful brownstone". A more accurate and straightforward representaion would have made for a less disappointing experience.
At the last minute, our 4 night booking at the listed "gorgeous sunny studio" was upgraded to a "beautiful 1br" below street level apartment. We were required to pick up the keys 3 blocks away. This was no problem, except that the doorman could not readily locate them. For us, the apartment was disappointing--dark, drab,, and very musty. We didnt want to hang out here so we didn't use the kitchen or the unkept patio. We wanted to store one bag for a few hours on the last day and asked 3 times before hearing back ( like a previous reviewer). A late check out at $50 was offered instead so we made other arrangements. The communication (only by email) was a bit perfunctory. It wasn't the typical personal and friendly airbnb experience. It felt like dealing with an agent. Despite the good location, we wouldn't stay here again. Thanks, airbnb, for the chance to give feedback.
Great location. Much more affordable than a hotel room and gives the full NY living experience. Outdoor space was gorgeous. Transaction was very easy. Our original contracted accommodations were switched, I know Sally was trying to upgrade us, but make sure to verify if you want/need the specific accommodations you sign up for. Additional towels needed for longer stays. Would definitely stay here again. Very positive experience.
