The City Centre is only 5 minutes walk away and its a 10 minutes walk to the train station (which connects with London in 2 hours, Leeds in 20 mins, Edinburgh in 1 hour and Scarborough in 1 hour)

Having travelled extensively and using using Airbnb on several occasions we think it's a great way to stay in a city benefitting from local knowledge.
The house might not have the most modern decor but it has character and charm, it is clean and comfortable and it has a great location and easy parking.
A little factoid: a former Mayor of York Phillip Booth used to live in this house.
If there are 3 of you and you, we can pull out a mattress on the floor and make up another bed. Just let us know.

I had a very pleasant stay at Jelle's in York - the house was lovely and he was most welcoming - I was sorry not to be staying longer.
Enjoyed my 2 nights here - facilities and atmosphere as expected from Airbnb (email hidden)d-in house, with friendly inhabitants in a beautiful and convenient location
The room is quiet and clean, and also very convenient, close to the railway station and the city center. It's nice to stay here.
Warm and welcoming household; you will enjoy your stay
We had a lovely stay in the attic room which Jelle had available. I would recommend the room to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable and convenient stay in York - just a short walk along the wall to the city centre.
We stayed at Jelle's place in February (read: cold and rainy in time in York) - we really enjoyed the warm (!) and clean room on the top floor. We also loved the location! It's less than a 10 mins walk to the city centre and when you walk along the river it's a lovely walk. Also, when you walk over the wall (from in front Jelle's place) to the main gate of the wall you get to a really nice cafe/bicycle repair shop! Would definitely recommend staying at Jelle's place when visiting York.
Easy cheap parking.
Easy access to York centre.
Easy access to splendid Golden Ball pub.
Jelle made me feel very welcome. It's a really nice house, with loads of character and box seat view of the city wall. Room at the top of house was large and comfortable. The stairs are quite plushly carpeted, so no noise to wake you up. Brilliant location 5 mins walk ( along the walls) to York station. Can't fault it.
Jelle' s house is conveniently located within York's walls , few minutes away from centre. Jelle is a very nice host and thoughtful host.
The house is beautiful and the host is nice. We have enjoyed our journey in York.
