Cozy studio apartment within gated community in the Timbergrove Manor neighborhood, right next to the historic Houston Heights district.
The second floor apartment comes furnished with a queen size bed (fresh sheets), a couch, love seat, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, LCD TV, wireless internet, and OTA TV (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and CW). There is also an Apple TV for Hulu and Netflix and a DVD/Blu-Ray Player and a good selection of movies to watch. The complex is older (built in the eighties) so, as you can probably tell from the photos, the appliances aren't the latest and greatest, but they all work well.
There is a walk-in closet and a dresser in which I can clear out a small space for you to store your belongings if requested in advance.
The apartment complex has a pool and hot tub that you are free to use and there are laundry facilities onsite as well (coin operated). There is also a minimal fitness center.
The apartment is very centrally located - close to everything:
- 10 minute drive to Downtown
- 15 minute drive to the Galleria
- 15 minute drive to Texas Medical Center
- 5 minute drive to Washington Avenue (many popular bars & restaurants)
Easy access to the 610 Loop and Interstate 10 (Less than 5 minutes away)
There are many small, locally owned bars and restaurants in the surrounding Heights area that are very close to the apartment and can be reached by a short bike ride or drive. There is a pharmacy and grocery store within walking distance as well as several fast food options. I have a bicycle that I can leave in the apartment for you to use if you'd like, otherwise it will be moved to storage.
The unit is located within walking distance to Houston's Metro Bus Line (Bus Route 40 - Pecore/Telephone, Stop is Ella Blvd & TC Jester - See Houston Metro's website for more info on Houston bus routes).
The White Oak Bayou Trail runs directly behind the complex and is easily accessible. It's great for a morning or evening jog or bike ride.
You can have full access to all the food/seasoning/cooking supplies located in the kitchen if you'd like to prepare meals at the apartment.
Fresh towels will be provided at the beginning of your stay.
If I am available, shuttle service to or from either of the airports can be arranged for an additional pre-negotiated fee.
At checkin, all guests must provide a valid state issued driver's license or identification card or a nationally issued passport if you are a US Citizen. If you are not a US Citizen, then you must provide a nationally issued passport.
No smoking is allowed in the apartment, however you may smoke on the balcony or outside as long as the cigarette butts are disposed of properly and not thrown on the ground.
No pets are allowed, sorry.
To avoid a cleaning fee being requested, please leave the unit in the state in which you found it. Make the bed, take out the trash, wash any dishes used, and turn all of the lights and air conditioner off to save on electricity.
No parties, loud music, or other noisy activities. I have a good relationship with my neighbors and I would like to keep it that way.
What a fantastic studio apartment. The apartment was plenty spacious and very comfortable. The location is convenient to everything inside the city. Neal is a really good host, checked in on me via phone and I could not be more pleased with the entire process. Bonus: the price is the best I have found in the city.
Neal was a great host. His apartment was cozy, clean, and welcoming. I felt very centrally located to the city. I couldn't ask for more from this great apartment.
I would like to thank Neal for a wonderful stay at his Cozy Studio. Neals home is located close to the heart of Houston. The Studio is in close proximity of dinning venues.Neal was a wonderful host. His Studio was very neat and clean and Neal was kind enough to leave my favorite beverages Simply Orange and bottled water. I would suggest any one looking for a one bedroom in Houston give Neal a try and experience his home and hospitality. Thanks Neal.
Neal's apartment was ideal for my stay. It was easy to get to my conference every day, had everything I needed, and very clean. Neal was a gracious host.
Neal was a great host. He was able to accommodate us on short notice. His comfy little apartment was the perfect size for two travelers, it was clean upon our arrival and had all the amenities we needed. If you're planning to spend time downtown, in Montrose or around Rice University its probably a 10-15 minute drive from the apartment. In a city where driving is really the best mode of transportation this did not seem far.
This was the essence of Airbnb - easy, affordable and functional!
Neal was prompt in responses, helpful and very easy to work with.
I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone. It is maybe a little small for the "accommodates three" listing but very comfortable for one and reasonable for two.
Neal's place was perfect for our needs and he was an excellent host! He gave us a ton of information, suggested awesome restaurants, sent us maps for bike paths in the area, and was just all around awesome. He even left us candy! If I go to Houston again, I'll definitely be staying with him.
