Kapwa Cabin is a tiny house nestled in a quiet wooded neighborhood just 15 minutes from Asheville. Kapwa is a Filipino concept that very loosely translates to 'kindred.' It refers to space where acknowledgement of our shared identity instructs us to care for each other. In this spirit we have sourced art that connects our indigenous lineages, celebrates our shared future, and showcases BIPOC creators.

$10 from every night you book will go to an organization working to strengthen community.

The space
Kapwa Cabin is about 400 square feet, with a fully equipped kitchen (including a range/oven, small fridge and freezer and all the necessaries). There is a front porch with a bar, perfect for whittling or drinking a beer. The cabin was renovated in the Spring of 2021 using fine woods such as black walnut, wormy maple and oak, milled and crafted by the owners to create unique built-in spaces.

The neighborhood is Swannanoa, which is 15 minutes from Asheville and less than 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The space was designed mostly for single guests or couples, but we are open to guests bringing kids and we supply a twin size air mattress that can be used in the loft.

We keep some basic kitchen spices and oil/vinegar stocked as well as coffee and tea.

It sits on a half acre of wooded land, with a small meadow perfect for relaxing in the lounge chairs, or having friends over at the fire pit. There is a grill available for use. It is about 200 feet downhill from the main house. Entirely surrounded by trees, it is very private most seasons, but visible once the leaves have fallen. Bonus: there is an outdoor shower on the back porch!

Guest access
The entire space you access from your driveway is private to you.

Other things to note
Important - Please save the directions we provide, as GPS often gets confused on our road. GPS is good until the last half mile or so, where it seems to get turned around.

Also, the water is from a well and is tasty and safe. We provide a carafe in the fridge that you can keep full of water from the faucet.
