This is one of the few places in the area with a pool.

The pent-house suite is in the gated community of Mavila, a part of the Quivira group of communities within the award-winning Pueblo Bonito Resort. That should give you a hint about the amenities right there! Our place is on the third floor (stairs) with two spacious terraces to relax on. It is a few steps to the hot tub and pool as you can see in the pictures.

The space
What you will like most about it is that it is a simple, spartan, a clean looking place with all the basics for you to have a relaxing stay or work and play. It is an exclusive location, and we want to make it affordable for you. The Owners are fluent in English and Spanish which makes it easier for them to assist you, should you need their assistance.
The place is located near the main gate so access to the city is quick and easy for getting to restaurants, groceries, Uber, Taxi, bus to downtown (13.5 pesos!), etc. Inside the resort there are things to do as guests of the owners that include fishing, hikes, exercise classes, clases de Español, fine dinning, swimming at the sky pool (if Mavila is not awesome enough), the market at Sunset, the fantastic cactus garden and food truck, and other activities. Guests of owners get a folio number for discounts throughout the resort. The Jack Nicklaus golf course is fantastic, and Jack’s final signature Pro Course will soon be installed and will wrap around Mavila, for those that love to golf! To take advantage of everything, you’ll want to have or rent a car, unless you just want to lounge by the pool and recharge for your vacation; this is because the property is huge, and we think you’ll have more fun exploring different areas. You can hire transport services like the taxi, but we strongly suggest that you get a car, dune buggy, golf cart, scooter, electric bike, or the like.
The property at Mavila is like a little community of villas surrounding a beautiful pool amongst the cactus, birds chirping, with sunrises on the dessert hill and sunsets over the water. There are two security points to enter Pueblo Bonito and then our friendly Mavila security at the gate to the community. I like running up the hill along the sidewalks in the morning or going for an early trail walk to the beach, or to the lighthouse visible on the hill with some of the regulars around here.
Our penthouse has two terraces, one for dinning and the other for relaxing, the rooms are all ample with a full kitchen and all you need (I bake batons and muffins, etc.), high quality appliances and kitchen items, filtered cool water and ice on the fridge door, dishwasher, coffee maker and French press, etc. The half-bathroom is just off the kitchen for guests and besides the single unit washer/dryer. The master bedroom is large with ample closet space and a comfortable king-sized bed. Off the master bedroom is a large two-sink bathroom-shower with separate water closet. The sliding glass door opens onto the terrace for relaxing outside with a drink and has heavy curtains to darken the room to keep you sleep hygiene optimal.

Where you’ll be

Colinas de Cabo Baja, BCS, Mexico

Outside of the resort is Cabo San Lucas, with local restaurants, and services such as banks, grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals, etc. A short walk can get you to the local stadium to watch a soccer match with the local teams. A short trip to downtown is touristy but beautiful, with many nice restaurants and shopping. There is access to swimming beaches, tours, and other things near the marina. About 40-minute drive North is San Jose del Cabo, a resort area which might be worth a visit and has some more access to public beaches.

Brian and Deyanira have traveled extensively; their last journey lasted for 26 months, riding motorcycles through the Americas from Alaska to Argentina and back, over 73,000kms!

This married couple owns a home in Merida (Yucatan) and a penthouse suite in Mavila (Cabo San Lucas) and they like to share their place with other travelers, especially ADVRiders. Brian and Deyanira are neat and organized and when traveling they believe in leaving a place better than they found it. They also prefer the road less travelled, which led them to their current destination and others.
