  • Last week we stayed with Tunji in his apartment in the Lower East Side and we had a great time! Tunji is super nice and helpful and he has the sweetest dog ever, Dao the famous french bulldog! We would definitely stay with them again if we go back to NYC. The room is nice, clean and very central and we just fell in love with the LES, it's one of the nicest places in Manhattan.

  • What a wonderful stay! I loved my time with Tunji and Dao! So warm and welcoming and always cheerful, Tunji is a superb host. I would highly recommend anyone interested in staying in the Lower East Side to consider time with these two. The location is right down the street from cool shops, galleries, and restaurants. Easy access to Soho, the Village and Brooklyn! I will be back!

  • Tunji is a great HOST!!! We had a wonderfull time at NYC!! The location is great, near East Broadway and Grand street stations, so you can reach any point of the city by taking the subway!! Tunji help us a lot, we would highly recommend his apartment!!

  • We really had a nice week at Tunji´s. He was very friendliy and cool, unfortunately we had not spend so much time with Tunji, cause we had been on the road most of the time. But al in all it was a great week. If you gonna stay at NYC, I would recommend Tunji´s appartement :-)
    Thanks for all...

  • A great host makes for a great stay! Nothing but high fives!

  • Great place! Great host! Great dog! Tunji knows his way around NYC and is
happy to share great pieces of advice on what's hot and what's not. The
appartment is cozy and situated on a cool street in a friendly
neighbourhood. Make sure to wear those slippers though, or bring your own
pair, since the floor was quite dirty, even on moving in. All in all:
    affordable and highly enoyable place!

    Response from Tunji:

As part of my services, I do not charge for cleaning fees like some others. Although I employ a cleaning service that I pay for, and I encourage guests to alert me of any problems so It can be fix straight away. And It always is.
Having lived in Japan, I promote a shoe free environment for that same reason and would have attended to ms. Oskarson's concern.

  • I stayed at Tunji's place from 24 of October untill 01 of November. Everything was great. The room was very nice with a private bathroom and a TV. Good bed everything was cool.

The location of the apartment is great. Chinatown has changed a lot. Now it is full of fancy bars, nice art galleries and good restaurants. In Orchard street where Tunjis apartment is located you find plenty of restaurants such as THE FAT RADISH and cool bars like CASA MEZCAL. You can walk to the financial district, SoHo and Little Italiy. Or just take the F train and you get everywhere else.

Brooklyn is just around the corner. I took a cab over the Manhattan bridge. In Brooklyn you have some great shopping opportunities like the FULTON STREET.

Tunji is a real awesome guy, always up for giving insider information of great spots and he can
easily respond to any questions you have about NYC.

On Monday Hurricane Sandy made landfall in NYC. My flight out of NYC was cancelled and I was pretty happy that I could stay 3 more days untill Thursday at Tunjis place. He was great, helpful putting
candles everywhere in this situation. Power was gone in the whole of Lower Manhattan but we made the best out of it.

In a few words: Great host, great place. Why would you stay in a hotel? I hope I can go back next summer to New York and I want definetly stay again at Tunjis place. I LOVE NEW YORK.

  • All those who have gone before me were right! Tunji is a truly lovely person and his mate Dao is quite a character, even if you are not necessatrily a `dog person`. Unfortunatly Tunji left for overseas the day after I arrived so we only had a short time together but he was very helpful. He arranged for a replacement host in the form of the warm, delightful Grace who was meticulous about organisation and was especially helpful in arranging transport on departure, even getting up before dawn to speak to my car driver and see me off. My only comment to future travellers who stay in NYC is that it is intrinsically an active, bustling place, day and night. I cannot recall that any noise ever actuallly woke me up, but I do not sleep long hours and while awake I found that there is a lot of activity in the neighbourhood. The apartment is very close to the F line and I was grateful for the proximity after a long day out. Many thanks to Tunji and Grace for helping make my NYC adventure a reality.

  • We had a really great time staying at Tunji's place in NYC! The room is very charming, comfortable and clean. Tunji ist an extremely nice and hospitable person who would always help us with any question or give us recommendations. Since he lives in NYC for many years he knows a lot about nearly every neighbourhood, including bars or restaurants.
Of course he also has the best guard dog - Dao!
    We highly recommend this place!

I am a designer of multiple cultures who has worked extensively in Japan. I live in one of the most newly exciting neighborhoods of Manhattan; the lower east side verging on Chinatown; a great location to start exploring downtown. Close to the "F" train within walking distance to Soho, Nolita, also getting to midtown to connecting trains to uptown museums, central park, all Airports and other attractions. My primary concern is your hospitality and comfort. Biking around the city all year round is among one of my pleasures, also is dancing, playing soccer, sculpting, painting. I love music of all genre that transcends cultures (Jazz, House, Electro, World, Opera, Tango, Flamenco and more...I have knowledge of spots where to listen and dance in the city. I was raised in Africa and Europe. I have traveled extensively and speak and write in French fluently. I also understand Japanglish!. I am a laid back person and respectful person who welcomes the same. No pretense in all honesty. In my world, "The sun is always shining"
