About This Listing
Le Tre Chiavi Guesthouse is located in the center of Rome, between the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo, in the characteristic and historic district Borgo.
This is the ideal place to spend a "Roman Holiday" and reach the most beautiful monuments on foot and in a short time.
Like the other guests, you will be given three keys: one for the building, one for the front door of the apartment and the last one for your room.
Every room is quite big and has a private bathroom inside.
For your beverages you can use the refrigerator (sharing it with other guests in the house).
Notice that it is not possible to cook in the house since our business licence doesn't permit it.
It was renovated in December 2011 and consists of three rooms with a private bathroom in each.
The rates includes: towels and bed linen, tv, fan (summer), cleaning, electricity and heat.
From here in a few minutes, within walking distance, you can reach the Rome’s most beautiful and famous places.
We remind you that it is very important for us to know what time you will arrive at the B&B in order to organize the check-in (we do not want to make our guests waiting!).
We kindly ask you to comunicate in advance time of your arrival at B&B, reminding you that check in time is from 12.00pm to 8.00pm.
Check in times out this term have to be arranged in advance and may be charged.
If we will not receive any comunication about your arrival time, we will not be able to guarantee the check in.
We also remind you that check out is within 9.30am the day of your departure.
So let us know time and place of arrival. We can tell you how to reach us and fix the appointment for the check-in.
Feel free to contact us anytime you want to request any information about the structure and services.
See you there!
THE NEIGHBORHOOD (RIONE BORGO)
Although heavily transformed during the first half of the 20th century, the Borgo maintains its historical importance as a forecourt to Saint Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Palace.
The Borgo is bordered by Vatican City (Saint Peter's Square) to the west, the Tiber to the east, Prati to the north, the quartiere Aurelio to the southwest and Trastevere to the south.
The main roads run east-west and (with the noteworthy exception of the modern Via della Conciliazione) are not named Vie, but Borghi.
Several high prelates live there: among them, Pope Benedict XVI, who had been living in Borgo Pio for more than twenty years before his election to the Papacy. South of the Passetto the quarter houses only some offices (mainly belonging to the Vatican), an Auditorium, and the huge complex of the Hospital of Santo Spirito.
The apartment is located behind the pedestrian area of Borgo Pio, close to the Vatican.
We stayed four nights at Gianpaolo and Angela's B&B and we had a great time in Rome.
The communication with them before we arrived was good and efficient. They replied very soon giving us some information about the rules of the B&B and asking us for more details about our arrival. Regarding this I have to say that, by mistake (our mistake), we told them that we would arrive in the morning (around 11:10) but actually our flight was in the evening so we arrived at 23:10. When two days before I told them about this mistake, they told me that actually they don't do anymore these late check-ins and when they exceptionally do them, they charge extra money, which to be fair is specified in the description. In our case were 25 € extra that we had to pay upon arrival.
The place is amazingly located, just two blocks far from the Vaticano, and around the corner there is a very cute street full of restaurants. It is also very easily reachable from Fiumicino Airport by bus (Shuttle bus), that costs only 6 € euros. This bus works until very late in the night and since very early in the morning, and it stops just five minutes walking distance from the B&B. I have to say that Gianpaolo and Angela didn't give us this information when I asked them how to get there. Their suggestion was just taking a taxi from the airport (which is possible but very expensive). Taking a taxi was not the preferred option for us, specially because we already paid 25 € for the late check-in.
The room is just like in the pictures and, like they say in the description, was recently renovated. Everything is new and works well. The only thing is that there is no wifi. So if you are looking for a quite place close to the Vaticano and just across the river from Piazza Navona, and you don't want the hosts around, this is a good option. In our case, we missed that: the hosts giving us tips about transport, restaurants, night life, … We find Airbnb great because of that, because that interaction gives value to your experience. Also not having a wifi didn't help much bringing the city and useful information to us. I guess the concept of a Bed&Breakfast is completely different so I would not book in a B&B again through Airbnb, but that's my opinion.
Room was very comfortable and as expected. The selection of prewrapped pastries and tea/coffee were a nice easy start each morning. Overall the place was great except no wifi (and not really many places nearby to get free wifi).
Fantastic, clean, well situated room extremely close to the Vatican City. Angela and Gianpaolo were extremely kind , friendly and helpful with information about the city, transportation and such. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. There was a slightly strange smell in the room, but with an open window it wasn't a problem. May have been due to heavy rain we had when there. Angela and Gianpaolo left us with several snacks and allowed us to leave our luggage during the day after checkout which really helped us out and was over and able just the nice stay in the room. Quiet and comfortable, we will definitely return when next in Rome!
Excelente lugar, muy bien ubicado y tranquilo. Teníamos todo lo que necesitabamos... amgela y gianpaolo super amables y atentos. Mas que recomendable. si volvemos a roma volvemos a le tre chiavi!!!
Lovely, clean apartment in a quiet area of the city. Very comfortable bed and an excellent shower -- nice to come back to after a long day of sight-seeing. Great bus access but also walking distance to most places. Very friendly hosts with excellent communication up to our arrival. They were also very helpful in offering to keep our bags for a while after check out. Only downsides were lack of internet (which we knew when we reserved but we didn't anticipate how difficult it would be to find other sources of internet nearby), a bit hot in the summer months and no A/C, and breakfast was not always restocked so we could not count on that in the mornings. Overall very nice and definitely recommended.
