Threshers Barn is located in the tiny hamlet of East Leigh, nr Harberton, about 3 miles from Totnes & Dartington, Dartmoor is about 10 miles one way, the coast 10 miles the other. Harberton and its ancient pub are about 1.5 miles down the road. The local scenery is spectacular, great for walking and cycling although it is very hilly. I have one double room with ensuite facilities and lovely views over the hills, and 2 single rooms with sole use of shower & loo. I provide bed and continental breakfast, which includes juice, homemade bread and a range of cereals. You can also book an individual session or join in the pilates classes I run from the sunrise room in the 1.5 acre woodland garden. There's free broadband, but even better hardly any light pollution so it's great for stargazing!
This listing is for a single room available at £28.00 per night. Toilet and shower facilities are shared with one other room. I have another room available listed under Room with a View in Deepest Devon which is a double ensuite.
Guests have access to the farmhouse kitchen/dining room where breakfast is served, but cooking facilities are not available.
Enjoy your visit
I enjoyed my brief stay in Devon and was made welcome by Sasha. The house is charming and the view from my room was beautiful. I was grateful for the warm room and house (as the weather was cold) and for being able make tea or coffee. Everything was provided and it made my trip very pleasant.
Arriving at night has difficulties due to the narrow roads and the wide area postcode which means a Sat Nav cannot be precise. However Sasha is happy to take 'direction' calls and sends good written instructions.
The house is deep in the stunning Devon rolling countryside and yet within easy access of Dartington and Totnes. A lovely place to stay.
I had a great experience in Devon, Sasha was very welcoming and the house is lovely! I had a great night's sleep and it's very peaceful.
Thanks very much :-)
A really lovely stay in a beautiful house and area. Thanks so much, hope to see you again in the future.
All went really well. Sasha was great, responsive to my calls, helped me find the place quite late in the evening. Very flexible with check in and check out time. Lovely experience! Very cosy and friendly home.
Arrived to a very warm welcome and lovely accommodation. Beautiful location, comfortable and clean rooms, good food, easy directions, altogether a good experience.
Super place to stay, comfortable room and a tasty breakfast. Rural location makes for easy parking and immediate access to lovely countryside. I took a walk before breakfast - great 4 mile loop half of which was on green lanes and all pretty much of it free of traffic, just the occasional tractor with the driver giving a friendly wave en route.
You can see from the photo what a characterful house this is. My son and I welcomed this as a home from home, and I adored the sweeping views of this gorgeous part of Devon. We were so glad we booked to come here and loved our week - it's friendly, relaxed and very homely.

I have lived in this area for about a year now, having moved to the South Hams from Exmouth, following a career change, from working for a National Conservation Charity to retraining as a Personal Trainer/Pilates instructor.
