Live like a local Los Angelino in an original Spanish Bungalow from 1934. Experience the thriving music, food and culture of South Los Angeles. Our home is in-between Hollywood, Downtown LA, Santa Monica/Venice and LAX, plus full of welcoming energy.

The space

Welcome to the best hidden oasis in the central heart of Los Angeles!

We nicknamed our house "The Spanish Greens" for the lush garden and vibrant colors reminiscent of 1934 Spanish Revival bungalows. The unique character is in the home's original dark redwood floors, Spanish style archways, french doors melting the indoor atmosphere with the outdoors and original wood windows that capture plenty of daylight and cool breezes.

We are offering a modern, calming bedroom and private bathroom. The bedroom has a comfortable tempurpedic full size bed for one or two people. The large room is brightly decorated with abstract art and a wall of mirrors. The bedroom opens onto the relaxing garden and hammock in the backyard.

Guest access

You have full access to the large modern chefs kitchen, WIFI internet, and free laundry and dryer. Make yourself at home in the colorful living room, among travel photos & available movies/TV shows on DVD. Or create an outdoor office by sitting on the patio to enjoy the warm LA weather. Or relax away the day in the hammock. If you come at the right time of year, you are welcome to pick the organic fruit or vegetables from the garden.

There is plenty of safe, free and convenient street parking directly in front of our house, if you have a car.

Interaction with guests

This room is across the hall from our bedroom. If you need anything, we will be nearby.

We are "work-from-home" entrepreneurs. On weekdays there is a strong work vibe, and although someone is usually home, we may be busy during work hours.

We are quiet at night and appreciate guests who like both conversations and time to yourself.

Other things to note

Our 3 cats are affectionate and friendly with our guests. They may even cuddle with you at night, if you like cats.

This year we rent our space to save for a hot tub. Last year we saved for our honeymoon (we got married Sept 2015).

This stay is in a quiet transitional neighborhood. There is a lot of potential here as well as a lot of history. It is very close to the new Metro Expo line, which is great if you are traveling on a modest budget as I was. You can ride the Expo line all the way to Santa Monica beach as i did. If you're a cat person this would be a good choice for you, Shanon and MJ have three!

The house is well located close to amenities but on a quiet street with plenty of parking. Its decor is super cute on the outside and on the inside. The hosts are most generous with making you feel at home to make use of the kitchen, which is well equipped. You get a comfortable size room, your own closet with hangars and drawers, good outlets by the desk and the bed, and your own private bathroom. The room gets good light in the day. Extra touches made a difference: a carafe of water waiting for you in your room, snack bar, a personalized welcome bulletin board. Th wifi worked really well. I loved having visits from one of the cats. Best of all, the hosts are warm and friendly and lots of fun to talk to.

Both Shannon and MJ were really friendly and always ready to help or offer suggestions for what to in L.A. The room was really nice and I appreciated the access to the backyard and the private bathroom attached. The three cats were adorable and super friendly!

I had a great stay at Shannon's and MJ's place!! First, the room and the bathroom (for my use only) were both spacious and clean. The bed was big, comfortable, and covered in nice linens. There was just enough furniture in the room and shelves in the bathroom. Second, the kitchen was very well equipped. I prepared there my breakfast, snacks for the day, as well as dinner during my entire stay. Big fridge, variety of pots and cups, microwave, toaster, large cooking and dinnnng areas, all encouraged me to spend more time cooking. Third, the location is good! 20 min walk to the metro stop, 3 min walk to bus stops, 5 min walk to a shopping mall. I got everywhere I wanted in and outside of Los Angeles city relaying solely on the public transportation system. Last but not least, I felt home there. Shannon and Mira were both so friendly, kind, and fun to talk to, that I have never felt more welcome by anybody else while on Airbnb. It's definitely my best Couchsurfing/ Airbnb experience so far. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to our collective profile!

We have a passion for cooking and pursuing entrepreneurship. We are adventurous, travel enthusiasts and enjoy getting to know new people.

SHANNON: The one on the left in the picture...I am an Real Estate Agent with a knack for hustles and big hugs. Traveling the world turned me onto SCUBA diving, photography, finding the least walked path and saying thank you with a smile.

MJ (Shannon's Wife): I'm the bald one in the picture...Full time success coach for ambitious women in their 20s + 30s and part-time makeup artist. I always know where to find a great live performance or novel nightlife event.

SHAUN (Shannon's brother): I love cooking, creating things and spending time hiking/camping/off-roading outdoors. I am a technology start-up consultant.

DIONNE (Dream Chaser's host): Is a host through and through, from great life stories to learning all she can from the amazing guests.

Collectively, we enjoy talking about this awesome city of Los Angeles where all the dream-chasers culminate and creativity is everywhere.

Our home is full of warm welcoming energy.
