House Rules

Be clean and considerate to the neighbors as you are at home.

Please do not wash late at night, because of the noise of the tumbler.
Before washing, place the drain-hose into the bathroom sink.

If you leave the apt during summer, please put down the blinds and shut down the AC to save a bit of energy.

These rules are just common sense stuff, so need to worry about anything....make sure you enjoy the place as much as I do!

Roland is a great host- very communicative and kind. I highly recommend this place- great energy, light, space and location. This is my third time in Beirut, and I will look for Roland's place the next time I come.

Overall everything was smooth and comvenient. Little minus on the bathroom as it's an old-style one, but that isn't a huge deal. Roland is a great host

The location of the flat is perfect, in a silent and nice neighborhood. There was more noise from construction than expected, but after all this is Beirut:) Facilities were good, however the bathroom and shower were more basic. Overall I recommend this place, Roland made every effort to arrange everything during my stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Roland's place. The description is absolutely accurate, the apartment is lovely decorated and you find everything you need. Roland was a great host and replied instantly when we had a question or problem. Moreover, he mentioned several contacts for e.g. watering the plants in case of absence. Noise is, however, a problem at this time. The building site nearby is really loud – works do not start before 7:30 am and are finished by 3 pm though. If this is the time you are out you really have a quiet time. Especially the evenings are very peaceful. If you come in summer you should also know that a rooftop place is obviously very hot – sitting outside in the shadow of the umbrellas is always possible. All in all: Highly recommended! I would definitely like to come back. Thanks a lot, Roland :)

We stayed in Roland's apartment for one month while we looked for another apartment to rent long-term. It was comfortable and fully equipped, close to markets and downtown. Whenever we had any concerns about the apartment Roland always responded quickly and was also very helpful in giving us advice and tips for living in Beirut. It is not a new building and there were daily power cuts, so I would not recommend staying here unless you are ready to get some exercise walking up seven stories when the elevator isn't working! All in all we really enjoyed our time in the apartment and I would encourage others to stay there as well. Roland is a great host.

Rolands rents a really beautiful and spacious apartment with everything you need to live. Based in a friendly, central and for Beirut conditions really quiet neighborhood – unfortunately only on the weekend. During weekdays there's a very active sky scraper construction site nearby that can get really noisy. But anyone who's not so sensitive will find a really beautiful refuge in the heart of Beirut. Although I never met Roland in person, he was really nice and helpful during our email conversations. So all in all I have only good things to say and would return any time.

Response from Roland:
I would just like to add a little info: If you are working during the day or visiting a language school you will hardly be affected by construction because they only work until 17:00. In addition I made a daytime video of the apartment with sound, which I can send to my prospective guests so they can hear the original sound. I don't mind it too much, it is mainly hammering and handling wood….

This place is amazing ! So much light and everything is decorated with care and taste. It was great to enjoy the sun on the spacious terrace. The place is at 5 mn walk from Hamra and close to a garden. There is building construction going on during the week which I do not really mind as I have a deep sleep. I did not have the chance to meet Roland but his friend welcomed me and spent an hour showing me around the neighborhood and pointing nice places to eat/drink/go. This is the first time that I see an Airbnb host who not only makes sure that you are ok at his place but also makes sure you know your way around. I really appreciated this. I really recommend Roland's flat and I will surely stay at his place again if I come back to Lebanon.

I really enjoy living abroad and getting to know new cultures.
I am very sociable and like to hang out with my friends as much as possible.
Also, coming from Europe I really enjoy the weather in Beirut.
