Double Room in Edinburgh Flat

Apartment - Private room · Jordan Ln, Edinburgh, Scotland EH10, United Kingdom

The Space

1 double room in a 2 bedroom flat available for short term lets. Situated in the beautiful Morningside area. This newly refurbished Georgian flat has all modern conveniences and is well located as it is only a 25 minute walk into the centre and is on a main bus artery into the capital. A selection of buses are available at a nearby bus stop so you only have a few minutes to wait to get a bus into the centre which takes a 10 minute journey. The flat is well kept and fully furnished with TV and all washing facilities/cooking/wi-fi etc are available for use.

The flat comprises 2 double bedrooms a large living/diningroom and a new modern kitchen and shower room/WC, I live in the other room. Morningside road is just outside the door which has an M&S, Sainsburys and Waitrose near by. It's on the third floor which means it gets a lot of sunshine and has scenic views of Edinburgh. I have extensive knowledge of Edinburgh and can recommend a lot of places of the beaten track to enjoy.

Clean Towels and bedding are provided and I also provide tasty muesli, tea, coffee and toast. You can help yourself to anything in the kitchen basically and I also get milk and sugar etc. You are also free to use the clothes washing and drying facilities.

Morningside is a very scenic and historic part of Edinburgh and is the perfect location for a holiday as the walk into the centre is very pleasant with lot of quaint novelty shops and cafes on the way and I am here to give any advice and help if needed. It is a peaceful location in the heart of the city.

Guest Access

The guests have access to the entire flat except my bedroom. There are all the usual facilities in the flat and the guest can also use the laundry facilities etc.

Interaction with Guests

I tend to let the guests get on with enjoying their stay but I am available for any advice they may need.

The Neighborhood

Morningside is a very nice part of Edinburgh. It is a nice quiet up market area but at the same time is close to the city centre. It is a very safe neighbourhood.

Getting around

Really good public transport from just outside the door with lot's of buses available every few minutes.

  • Richie was a very good and fun host! When we arrived he welcomed us with snacks and beer (we arrived late) he showed us everything that was nessecery like keys, wifi and so on. He also provided us with food for brakefast. Rich knows allot abouy the city and had very good tips to where we could go or what we could do.
All in one: those 5 days were fun and exciting and if we come back, which i hope, we will go to Rich again :) and if you are very nice to him, he mite cook for you;)

  • Richie! Made my Edinburgh experience really really 'rich'..LOL
What an amazing host?I would not have imagined a better host than him.I mean we became friends instantly. He welcomed me in a truly Scottish way..yeah with a real fine scotch whisky!! Then we had some beers and he took me to a great pub nearby where we had few more beers and then he took me to a really fine Indian restaurant.
The room was kept well and everything worked fine- wifi, showers, kitchen etc etc.
The room is not far from the city center and yeah as said in earlier reviews ' its a great walk to the city center from his house'.
We even watched Real Madrid vs Barcelona in a pub and had a wonderful time together.

  • Richie was one of the best hosts we had during our trip to Europe. Me and my friend stayed with Richie for just 1 night, his flat kept us warm especially since the weather was cold and rainy while we were there! He is a very friendly person who also made us feel at home and comfortable. His place is not too far off from the city centre too, a mere 20 minutes bus ride (rather scenic i would say) would take you to the city centre. Overall, an awesome experience!

  • We didn't see much of Richie during our stay but everything was as described. He welcomed us and gave is information about the city. There was a shelf in the pantry and fridge for us and the bedroom was nice and large. The neighbourhood is nice and quiet.

  • Ritchie is very nice guy and helpful; he gave us the availability of all his house and the breakfast too. We can sleep very well (no noises in the house) and from his house is very simple to go the centre.
The neighborhood is safe and well served. Ritchie gave us all the information to what visit, how to move and where go in the night.

We didn't see much of each other but everything was absolutely correct. If we come back to Edinburgh we'll probably try to stay again.

Ipsos MORI,
I'm originally from Ireland and have lived in Edinburgh for 20 years. I tend to let my guests get on with enjoying this beautiful city and make sure they have lots of clean towels and bedding and a good nights sleep is very important. The guests generally have the place to themselves but I'm always available for any advice on things to do and see.
