The Space

1 double room in a 2 bedroom flat available for short term lets. Situated in the beautiful Morningside area. This newly refurbished Georgian flat has all modern conveniences and is well located as it is only a 25 minute walk into the centre and is on a main bus artery into the capital. A selection of buses are available at a nearby bus stop so you only have a few minutes to wait to get a bus into the centre which takes a 10 minute journey. The flat is well kept and fully furnished with TV and all washing facilities/cooking/wi-fi etc are available for use.

The flat comprises 2 double bedrooms a large living/diningroom and a new modern kitchen and shower room/WC, I live in the other room. Morningside road is just outside the door which has an M&S, Sainsburys and Waitrose near by. It's on the third floor which means it gets a lot of sunshine and has scenic views of Edinburgh. I have extensive knowledge of Edinburgh and can recommend a lot of places of the beaten track to enjoy.

Clean Towels and bedding are provided and I also provide tasty muesli, tea, coffee and toast. You can help yourself to anything in the kitchen basically and I also get milk and sugar etc. You are also free to use the clothes washing and drying facilities.

Morningside is a very scenic and historic part of Edinburgh and is the perfect location for a holiday as the walk into the centre is very pleasant with lot of quaint novelty shops and cafes on the way and I am here to give any advice and help if needed. It is a peaceful location in the heart of the city.

Guest Access

The guests have access to the entire flat except my bedroom. There are all the usual facilities in the flat and the guest can also use the laundry facilities etc.

Interaction with Guests

I tend to let the guests get on with enjoying their stay but I am available for any advice they may need.

The Neighborhood

Morningside is a very nice part of Edinburgh. It is a nice quiet up market area but at the same time is close to the city centre. It is a very safe neighbourhood.

Getting around

Really good public transport from just outside the door with lot's of buses available every few minutes.

  • We absolutely loved Edinburgh and our stay in Richie's flat. Richie was a vey friendly and welcoming host. The flat was very clean and conveniently located. It took us about 30-40 minutes to walk to the town center (which was lovely on a sunny day), and about 15 minutes on the bus from the bus stop right down the street from the flat. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

  • Richie is a very friendly guy. His place was clean and in a great neighborhood. The room was very nice and he made sure to make us feel at home whenever we ran into him. My biggest regret in Edinburgh: not spending more time chatting with Richie! I highly recommend staying with him.

  • Richie's place is located in a lovely neighbourhood with many shops near the flat. The flat is conveniently located near a Sainbury, Marks and Spenser as well as a few local shops. Other than that, there is an Italian restaurant (Papilio's Italian (website hidden)) that serves amazing pasta. It's just round the corner from Richie's place. The location is rather convenient and accessible as there are numerous buses from the city centre to the place.

However, one thing to note is that Richie's flat is located at on the third (top) floor of the building and it is advisable not to come with a huge suitcase as it will be very difficult to manoeuvre the luggage up the flights of stairs and into the flat.

Richie provided rather detailed instructions on how to get to the flat, and even told us about getting a day ticket for the buses so as to be able to reduce cost. The flat itself was as how it is in the pictures and Richie was even thoughtful enough to provide us with a hair dryer, as well as recommendations on where to head to for a good picnic. All the amenities within the flat were in working order.

As I travelled with another female friend, we were a bit uncomfortable to find Richie's jeans left on the toilet floor on one of the mornings. But other than that, and the huge flight of stairs, everything else was perfect.

  • I heart Edinburgh. Richie's apartment had make me feel like home. It was on the top floor, my bad i came with huge luggage. Was a bit struggle with the stairs. But, my stay at Richie was awesome. There was really good cafe, Blackwood just around the corner. Richie (email hidden), very recommended.

About
I'm originally from Ireland and have lived in Edinburgh for 20 years. I tend to let my guests get on with enjoying this beautiful city and make sure they have lots of clean towels and bedding and a good nights sleep is very important. The guests generally have the place to themselves but I'm always available for any advice on things to do and see.
