WHO SHOULDN"T GO:
If you want to be within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, see lots of newer tract homes, like having street noise, you might be disappointed here. If this is your first AirBnB experience, you'll find it different than staying at a conventional motel/hotel, as you are sharing space with your hosts and get a unique and personal perspective. Within a short drive exist some of the best eats in the NW, including Yoshida's exquisite riverfront restaurant.
Enjoy your own private bedroom, which overlooks woods in the backyard, there are no views of other homes from there. You are a house guest welcome to share the common living areas of the home including gorgeous outdoor covered wood patio.
Interaction with Guests
Many of our guests like the local perspective that you can only get staying with long time residents of the area. We sometimes have breakfasts with our guests or enjoy socializing together.
Gateway to the Gorge and Mount Hood, Our neighborhood is uniquely rural yet close in, with about 50 homes set on 1 acre or larger lots. Great things to do start 10 minutes away. It is wooded and set on a butte with a picturesque view of the 3 mountains and the columbia gorge. It is quite different than most of the AirBnB listings in Portland.
It is almost a necessity to arrive by car, unless you are an exceptionally strong biker. We are about 4 miles from the nearest MAX light rail station, but once you are there you can go almost anywhere in Portland. Parking is easy in the driveway next to the home.

The entire experience was professionally perfect with every detail attended to from arrival to departure. The space is quiet and well appointed, and the hosts are accommodating, pretty much treating me as they would hope to be expected if they were traveling. The room and bed were perfect and I slept soundly. Everything was spotless - amazingly clean. Great breakfast and conversation to go with it, and a friendly review when I returned at the end of the day were very much appreciated. I extended my stay by one night because the thought of moving to a motel nearer the airport as I had intended was just too much to bear. I'll be back!
Ahhhh awesome. I came and the first thing we did was pick blackberries. Very healing night after crazy month. Great convo and hospitality from a super rad and soulful human being. Grateful for this experience :)
Bob and Marcia shared so much hospitality with us. We felt very welcome and comfortable. The location was beautiful and it was the perfect get away for us! The images and description were very accurate. We had a better time than we ever imagined. We will certainly be going back and we will be recommending this to our friends. Thank you both!!!
we had an amazing time with Marcia and her husband. The house is very Clean and organized and it is in a very beautiful location. We had a great time and recommend their places to anyone.
This is a beautiful home in a serene location. Bob was a great host and made my first Airbnb experience a good one. It was a quick trip and the only thing I would change is to stay longer!
My friend and I really enjoyed our 2-night stay! Marcia and Bob were very warm and welcoming. The room and bathroom (in a downstairs portion of the house) are in pristine condition. We had everything we needed and more. Marcia and Bob were very helpful by giving us many recommendations on must-sees in the area over wine in the evenings and smoothies in the mornings. We really enjoyed being so close to great hiking trails and being able to soak in the hot tub after a long day!

About the Host, Marcia
Hi, we are experienced AirBnB hosts living in Portland that love to be active and show off our unique city. We like to stay at smaller establishments and AirBnB is a great way to travel. The children are out of the house and we love to get on the motorcycle during the summer, go biking on trails and generally explore. We have traveled internationally and love to meet new people. We hope to meet you soon!
