This is ideally located near the great areas for mountain biking, hiking, motorcycling, rivers, skiing/snowboarding yet only 4 miles to MAX or a 30 minute drive to downtown. The scenic Springwater Corridor is a biker's or a walker's paradise and is only 5 minutes away. Spa also offers pilates reformer and available massage for your wellness. Stay in shape and healthy while on your vacation.

Stay here your first days when you arrive in the Northwest, be welcomed by gracious hosts and learn about the area you will love. The home is large and updated, and you share comfortable common areas with your hosts. The neighborhood is made up of homes all located on approximately one acre that has the feel of the real Oregon, for the experience of Northwest Living at its finest.
WHO SHOULDN"T GO:
If you want to be within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, see lots of newer tract homes, like having street noise, you might be disappointed here. If this is your first AirBnB experience, you'll find it different than staying at a conventional motel/hotel, as you are sharing space with your hosts and get a unique and personal perspective. Within a short drive exist some of the best eats in the NW, including Yoshida's exquisite riverfront restaurant.
Enjoy your own private bedroom, which overlooks woods in the backyard, there are no views of other homes from there. You are a house guest welcome to share the common living areas of the home including gorgeous outdoor covered wood patio.
Interaction with Guests
Many of our guests like the local perspective that you can only get staying with long time residents of the area. We sometimes have breakfasts with our guests or enjoy socializing together.
Gateway to the Gorge and Mount Hood, Our neighborhood is uniquely rural yet close in, with about 50 homes set on 1 acre or larger lots. Great things to do start 10 minutes away. It is wooded and set on a butte with a picturesque view of the 3 mountains and the columbia gorge. It is quite different than most of the AirBnB listings in Portland.
It is almost a necessity to arrive by car, unless you are an exceptionally strong biker. We are about 4 miles from the nearest MAX light rail station, but once you are there you can go almost anywhere in Portland. Parking is easy in the driveway next to the home.
No smoking in the house
Quiet time after 10pm
No dessert until you've eaten your vegetables
unwind and leave your cares behind
What a great airbnb runned by the lovely couple Bob and Marcia. It's not a question about coming back, but when coming back? 4 sunny days, I enjoyed the delicious breakfast from Marcia on the terrace, the spa in the garden, the bicycle rides with Bob,... It's the most ideal location to spend your days if you want to go downtown Portland by bicycle, if you want to visit Trillium lake near Mt Hood or if you want to visit the water falls and Crown Point overlooking the Colombia River. All just a few miles away from the airbnb. Excellent!
Our hosts greeted us at the door and made us feel very welcome. We got a tour of the space and even though we arrived very late were quickly offered to take a dip in the jacuzzi. We were too tired to take them up on that offer but it was great that it was available to us.
Our Host Marcia also made us a delicious breakfast in the morning before we left.
The room was tidy and clean, as was the bathroom.
Spa in the Woods has a lot to offer... it's very peaceful, relaxing and away from major traffic.
It is very close to Portland and there are plenty of hidden gems in the area, this location was perfect as I had to commute into Gresham which was a stone throw away. Marcia and Bob were great hosts offering breakfast and places to visit.
Soaking in the hot tub was a great way to end my days
Marcia and her husband were such gracious, welcoming, and genuinely sincere hosts. My husband and I spent a night at their home for a staycation, and they went out of their way to make us feel at home. It was like visiting close friends or family--from the moment we checked in, took a tour, had a glass of wine and a home-cooked meal/dessert, to getting to use the luxurious hot tub (it's the most comfortable one we've been in yet), we felt cared after. Prepare to have your expectations for hosts become much higher after staying with them--you'll wish all your hosts were this amazing! They truly capture the Airbnb spirit of belonging and I would stay with them again in a heartbeat.
Bob and Marcia are so kind! They met us in town to give us the key to the house so we could return when we wanted. The house is beautiful, clean and you have everything you need. I booked the night for my boyfriend and I to relax for valentines day. We enjoyed the hot tub and being out of the city. We woke to find bob and Marcia cooking breakfast for us!! So sweet! We would have stayed to eat and chat more but had previous breakfast plans w friends in town. We will definitely come stay again this summer. They like
Motorcycles too which is always a plus :)))
The spa in the woods was amazing. The house was easy to get to and once we arrived we were blown away. The house was beautiful, clean, and comforting. Very homey. Bob and Marcia were such welcoming hosts. Very warm hearted and interesting people to meet. Marcia was a sweetheart welcoming us in with some wine after she gave us a tour of the house and made a fire. The next morning Bob greeted us with an egg and veggie frittata, chorizo, coffee and some wonderful stories around the breakfast table. Good people. The hot tub was top notch too.

About the Host, Marcia
Hi, we are experienced AirBnB hosts living in Portland that love to be active and show off our unique city. We like to stay at smaller establishments and AirBnB is a great way to travel. The children are out of the house and we love to get on the motorcycle during the summer, go biking on trails and generally explore. We have traveled internationally and love to meet new people. We hope to meet you soon!
