Check In
  • Jano's apartment is light, airy, beautifully renovated, clean, spacious and fully appointed with everything you need.

The location is perfect for walking to the main centro historic sights and close to all transport, shops, banks, taxis, restaurants, etc etc.

Karolina was so helpful and understanding and all the nearby restaurants recommended gave us memorable authentic mexican experiences.

Like every street in Mexico City it's loud and bustling so bring your earplugs. Not saying it was too loud. Just saying!

The apartment is safe and secure on the first floor and up from the street so it feels like an oasis from the city.

Thanks for allowing us to stay in your home Jano - it definitely felt like home!

  • We enjoyed our stay at Casa Tezontle. It is a perfect location for exploring the historic center and near metro to get to other parts of the city. The apartment was clean, bright, and comfortable. We felt safe in the neighborhood and since the apartment is on the 2nd floor were able to safely leave windows open to get a nice breeze. Karolina was very helpful and provided lots of guidance.

  • We totally enjoyed our stay at Jano's Apartment it really helped us feel a part of Mexico City. We loved being so close to the Zocalo & some many other amazing things down town.
The apartment is clean with everything we needed, we loved the high ceilings & being able to open the doors of the balcony & feel apart of the street below.
Karolina who welcomed us was amazing, Helpful & sweet, checking in from time to time to say hello & make sure everything was ok; She even left us tasty treats it was lovely meeting Her.
Jano's communication was always prompt & helpful.
We where lucky enough to feel the earth moving during an earthquake while we were at Casa Tezontle and we felt so safe to be in a beautiful old building which has seen many before & with such easy access to the street below.
Over all a great experience would recommend to those wanting to experience Mexico city's historic heartbeat.

  • Myself and two friends stayed here recently. Bus from airport to front door very convenient. Janos apartment was clean, well organised and we received a friendly welcome from Janos friend David. Great street view which was very interesting to us. Once we sorted out where we were in the vast city of Mexico, it was clear how many interesting sites are within walking distance. Small Mexican convenience store just around the corner, some little bars to chat with the local people. Would highly recommend Janos apartment .

  • This is an excellent and truly comfortable way to get the authentic Mexico City experience for an affordable price! Jano's place is incredible, particularly from an architectural perspective. I traveled with a group of four, and we were comfortably accommodated. Jano compiled a guide to the local area (Centro Historico), which we found very helpful. We were greeted by Karolina (who may be Jano's assistant). After that point, we had the place to ourselves for the next three days of our visit. For a historical and touristic experience, the Centro Historico area around the apartment is very interesting. If you are in Mexico City for more than a day or two, I strongly recommend visiting the nearby neighborhoods Polanco and Condesa. Both of these neighborhoods will have additional dining, bars, and shopping options; however, the accommodations in these neighborhoods will be slightly more expensive.
