A great place to crash for the night. Mike and Nancy are lovely and their kids were sweet and welcoming. We loved the unfinished feel of the house. It felt more like staying with friends than renting a place.
Durango is a fantastic place in a beautiful setting with great hiking opportunities. If you like good food and good beer, this is definitely a place you should include when you visit Colorado. It's a college town set on the river and Mike & Nancy's place is a great location, only 15 minutes walk along the river into the main part of town. We loved staying with Mike & Nancy, they made us feel like part of the family and are really great people. The house is currently being renovated, so you don't get luxurious facilities but out of all my Airbnb experiences I enjoyed this one the most because it was fun and friendly. Thank you both and good luck with the house.
Michael and his family were wonderful hosts. They greeted us warmly when we arrived late in the evening, shared helpful travel tips, and provided a warm and comfortable bedroom for our much needed night of sleep.
friendly and open family, we enjoyed our very short stay there in Durango. Mike and Nancy were very helpful with great communication. I even left a pair of shoes there and they offered that their daughter bring them up to Boulder with her, very kind!!! We slept well, the bright and spacious "unfinished" room was actually quite nice. I bet it will be beautiful when all the hardwork is done! thank you!
My friend and me stayed 1 night at Michael and Nancy house. The location is good, close to downtown. We had one entire floor for us. The floor was very spacious and had an own toilet (with a curtain, no door), the shower could be used two floors downstairs. Unfortunately, the floor where we stayed has no door. The kids are very cute, also Dutch the dog. He is very friendly. We saw Michael when we arrived. He is a very good host and gave us good tips for restaurants. Nancy was working and we only saw her in the morning for a few. As mentionned, Michael and Nancy are remodeling the house.
Great hosts. Freely offered info on hikes, food, places to go. We especially enjoyed that they keep chickens! Made us feel right at home. The room is in fact the entire floor. Not luxury accommodations but that isn't what we wanted anyway. Bed is comfortable, nice to open up the door to the upper deck.
Nancy and Mike are down to earth and we liked staying with them, their kids and dog Dutch.
We had the pleasure of staying with Nancy and Michael whilst on a driving trip around South Colarado.
The home was easy to find and the beds were very comfortable.
Their comment that the house is in a state of development was correct but didn't cause us any problems.
At the moment they only have one bathroom downstairs, so just make sure that you are agile and okay about that.
It was a fun stopover and very convenient for all we wanted to do. They and their family were good hosts.
Michael and Nancy are great hosts. They are very welcoming and made us feel right at home. They provided great information about local hikes and restaurants in the Durango area, which helped make our vacation to the four corners area an amazing experience!
What would you say if your guests showed up at 10:30 PM barefoot, covered in mud up to the knees (our car got stuck in the mud), with a stray dog? Well, Nancy just smiled, arranged for the dog to be picked up, and whipped up the best omelette we've ever had! Who could ask for more?
Thank you so much, Nancy and Michael, for your outstanding hospitality. I truly enjoyed our conversations, all your advice (I wish we could find those amazing scones up here), and would love to see you again (maybe in Boston?).
We had an awesome time staying with Mike, Nancy, Evan and Katie. They are a kind and helpful family. I learned a lot about edible plants from the kids and really enjoyed my stay. The space we stayed in was large and comfortable. Mike and Nancy were extremely helpful. Im looking forward to returning in the near future and will definitely stay with the Robinsons again. Thanks.
