About this listing
. My home has a fabulous Puget Sound view and is within walking distance of the outstanding, waterfront, Lincoln Park and the Fauntleroy Ferry (10 min. walk or 2 min drive), as well as several wonderful restaurants and a bakery. By car, downtown Seattle is 15 minutes and by C bus 25 minutes direct. The bus stop is 1-½ blocks from my house and runs every 15 minutes. The airport is just 20 minutes away. There is a bus that runs from the airport to Westwood Village - 5 minutes from my house and I can pick you up there if you don't have a car.

The L shaped suite includes a private bathroom with extra large shower, bed part of the L has 2 twin beds ( they can be pushed together), closet space and dresser, sitting room part of the L has comfy leather stuffed chair, table/desk, open storage unit and a microwave, toaster, coffee maker with included coffee and tea, French Press, auto hot water pot, blender, and small refrigerator. The room does have low ceilings, 6 1/2’, so keep that in mind but no one has had a problem to date. There are also 2 comfy stuffed lounge chairs outdoors on my common area deck which has a fabulous water view if you are inclined to spend a morning or afternoon at home relaxing with a good book. The covered entrance to your room has a comfy chair and small table for coffee outside in case of rain preventing the outside lounge chairs.
Nearby Lincoln Park is a wonderful recreational area. Excellent for walking, cycling, or running along the waterfront promenade There is an outstanding outdoor saltwater pool there open May 31-Labor Day, tennis courts, and walking trails through the woods.
You can also take the nearby ferry, to Vashon Island and the Olympic Peninsula or take the 1-hour round trip for stunning views and enjoyment.
West Seattle downtown, a 10 min drive, is charming as well and has many restaurants as does the famous Alki Beach area, a 15-minute drive along the waterfront.
One block away from my home is a local favorite restaurant, Endolyne Joe’s, which is open for all meals, as well as the Original Bakery where coffee and baked treats await your morning pleasure. Across the street is a good Mexican Restaurant. There is also a shopping center - Westwood Village a 5 min drive, also on the C bus line where there are restaurants, grocery store and various shops.
I love my neighborhood and it's close proximity to all the things I enjoy... good food, beautiful nature and recreation. I also love traveling, hosting guests and hearing your travel stories.
There is free parking on the street but be sure to put the overnight parking permit I provide on your rear view mirror . Also, please park right in front of my house, not in front of my neighbors homes, they need their own parking spaces.
Interaction with Guests
I'm often outside on the deck working on the computer or reading and enjoy guests coming up and visiting. I love hearing about their daily adventures around Seattle.
The nature here is beautiful with all the trees, the sea and mountains beyond. I often see eagles fly overhead and seals and otters at Lincoln Park. The neighborhood is quiet and safe with friendly helpful people.
The C bus line is 1 -1/2 blocks from my house and comes every 15 minutes. It goes through downtown West Seattle and continues on to downtown Seattle, about 25 minutes. The other direction it goes to Westwood Village shopping center - 5 min. You can also transfer to a bus that takes you past the Mariners Stadium. Or another that goes to the airport.
The ferry, a 3 min drive, can take you quickly over to Vashon Island and the peninsula.
As much as I love children and pets I am asking that you bring no young children or pets to my home. No unregistered guests may stay as well. I'm also asking that there be no smoking inside and please no candle burning. No parties or loud noise please, this is a quiet neighborhood and I keep my home very clean for guests
We loved staying staying at this place, everything was provided ample breakfast, cosy beds and privacy. Mardee was a great host and spent a lot if time on her top deck watching the great view having some great conversation
This place is about 20min bus ride to the city costing $5 return trip and the bus stop is a few min walk from the house If you want to hire a car Enterprise Car hire is around 8min drive but they will pick you up at the house. If you have a few days a great place to go is the Boeing Factory guided tour appox 2hrs it was very interesting and there are a lot of quaint villages you can go after the tour which are on the way home. Great place highly recommended
Stay here! It's our 3rd time so I have nothing but praise for Mardee and her cozy studio. You feel like family here, that's why we keep coming back. The location is perfect for exploring Seattle & surrounding area ( like Alki beach), quiet, beautiful, safe neighborhood. Clean well appointed room, just as described. Mardee respects your privacy but is available if needed & willing to help with any suggestions.
A great location in a quiet neighborhood. The view was nice from the deck. Lincoln park is within walking distance as is the bus station and ferry. The two twin bed setup is nice; one firm, one soft. The low ceiling was never an issue.
Thanks Mardee for great hosting! we enjoyed a lot for clean room and good advice for city from Mardee, hope we could visit you again!
Mardee welcomed us with some tea and was such a gracious host. The view from her roof deck is beautiful. The room was very cozy and much better than staying in a hotel. She had everything we could possibly need! It was very quiet and comfortable, we slept great. Her house is a 5 minute walk to the bus line or ferries so we didn't have to drive into the city, what a bonus.
Mardee was very warm and friendly both in her messaging and in person. She made sure to confirm dates and times with us so that she could be there to meet us when we arrived. The house is lovely and the view is exactly as pictured! There is a lovely park (Lincoln) on the water just a half mile down the road, and the house is also very close to the bus line to downtown. Traffic from the Fauntleroy ferry is usually smooth, but can be a little unruly sometimes, so check the alternate routes to the house just in case.
Mardee showed us the room and it was clear she had taken great care to think of everything we might need! She provided fruit, coffee, tea, water, and a host of breakfast items. There were also maps, tourist brochures, and bus schedules. The room was well-organized for someone traveling either for business or pleasure. The complimentary Wi-fi connection and password were easy to locate and the room was complete with several power sources. The room was clean and tidy, and Mardee explained storage options, as well as where extra supplies could be found.
She was a wonderful host, able to answer questions about navigating to downtown and places to eat, and added such a personal touch to everything! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend this location.
Mardee made us more than welcome on our arrival, our accommodation more than met our expectation. We had ample breakfast food ,including tea, coffee , various cereals, bread and spreads. The views from the deck were as exactly as shown in the site photos, we relaxed with a tea or a beer watching the ferries come and go. Mardee's is well placed to get to the CBD (pikes market etc) via the bus 2 blocks away. It was also an easy drive to the city and no problem parking at Mardees with her visitors permit. Also walking distance to shops and bakery serving the best coffee we could find in the US. Whilst I went to various aircraft Museums Mardee took my wife shopping and had coffee. If we ever manage to get back to Seattle Mardee's is where we will hard for.
