Michael and Leslie were excellent hosts and we had a WONDERFUL time in Bermuda. I have never been to a place as beautiful inhabited by people who were so genuinely kind. Bermudian hospitality is unmatched! The cottage was located in a residential area centrally located on the island in Warwick and the Archer's home is laid out wonderfully. When we arrived, Lesley made sure the taxi driver hadn't "taken us for a ride" and showed us into the cottage right away. It is attached to the garage of their home and is close enough for comfort but private enough to feel like a home away from home. It was sparkling clean and had everything we needed during our stay- even an ice cream scooper! Annie their terrier was friendly and quiet an even jumped in the foot bed of our scooter to maybe hitch a ride. The yard of the Archer's home is beautiful with lots trees and space to roam. We were given a bunch of bananas as a treat! I enjoyed telling MIchael and Leslie about our lives in Kansas and touring his workshop, garden and chicken coop. Michael helped us get set up with a scooter and Leslie made sure the spare cell phone they leant us had enough minutes in case of emergency.Michael and daughter-in -law appreciated learning about my South American background and chatting with Kevin about his job/workshop. We even were offered a lift the the airport on our last day. We will definitely be back and I will recommend the Archer's place to any friends, family and colleagues making the trek to Bermuda. Obrigada!
Michael and Lesley's apartment is wonderful. The location in Warwick in the middle of Bermuda is ideal. There's a nice path just a short walk from the apartment that can take you to the best beaches on the south shore. A short bus ride will take you into Hamilton. We enjoyed seeing a more authentic side of Bermuda than we would have if we had chosen a resort or hotel. The apartment was impeccably clean and well-furnished. It is even nicer in person than in the photos. Michael and Lesley are very kind and helpful.
This was a perfect first stop on our stay in Bermuda. A comfortable and very roomie cottage with everything that you would need. Lesley and Michael could not have been nicer or more helpful. They helped us acclimate to how things are done in Bermuda and were very knowledgable on attractions and restaurants.
Michael and Lesley's "cozy and comfy" cottage was awesome! The actual place is even better than the photos. The place was huge with a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom; cleaner than hotels; and equipped with everything you need for a nice, easy and comfortable stay- all kitchen equipment, towels, robes, blow dryer, iron, binders with tourist information, and even a cell phone. Also, the TV in the living room has HBO, Showtime, and many other channels, which is especially nice for those who wish to just stay indoors, lounge, and watch a movie.
More than the awesomeness of the cottage, I'd like to emphasize the hospitality and generosity of the hosts- Michael and Lesley. Both of them drove and picked us up from our hotel at the other end of the island and also offered to drive us back to the airport at the end of our trip. They even invited us to a New Year's Eve dinner at their home, where we had a lovely time. They seem to genuinely care that you have a good time during your stay in Bermuda.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who is browsing through Airbnb to select a place to stay while in Bermuda. You'll really love the cottage as well as the kindness of the hosts.
Some other points about this place just in case you're still deciding whether or not to pick this place:
-free WIFI, and the WIFI is actually fast
-1 minute walk to the bus stop
-5 minute walk to the supermarket (this is a plus because food in Bermuda is EXPENSIVE!)
We honestly loved our stay at Lesley and Michael's cottage house in December. When we arrived, we were greeted with a smile and a carton of organic eggs laid by the chickens they keep in their backyard. Needless to say, we had amazing breakfasts for the next few days. The cottage itself is beautiful and well equiped. We watched Netflix shows, cooked our meals, relaxed on the couch with a book and had a comfortable sleep at night. We loved the garden and were amazed how much actually grows (or happens) there. Just ask Michael about those 'flying' turkeys :))
A grocery store and a small restaurant are close by as is a bus stop, if you decide not to rent a scooter (however, we suggest that you do - it's so much fun to drive around Bermuda on one!)
The location of the cottage is perfect - it's almost in the middle between Dockyards and St George (and close to Hamilton), so if you get a scooter you can easily reach all parts of the island. And south beaches are just a few minutes away, if you're looking to sun-tan on a beach.
On our departure day, which was Christmas, Lesley and Michael invited us for a farewell drinks (we didn't have time for anything else!) where we got to try the traditional local Cassava cake made by Lesley. Yummy!
Our conversations with Lesley and Michael were probably the best part of our stay. They had lots of hints and tips on what to see and what to do and shared a lot of interesting stories about life and history of Bermuda and (website hidden) about their former guests. We hope they can add a few more after our visit ;)
Thanks again, Lesley, Michael!
We had a fantastic time in Bermuda and the cottage was the perfect place to stay. It is incredibly well-appointed - we had everything we needed in the kitchen and the furnishings were lovely. The owners, Lesley and Michael, were incredibly kind and thoughtful. They even provided a Pack n' Play and high chair for our toddler son, plus rounded up some great toys and books for him to enjoy during the stay! Additionally, they had left lots of information about what to do and were very willing to provide suggestions and answer questions about the island. The location is quite central and close to a grocery store and a few restaurants. It also was very easy to take the bus to most anywhere we wanted to go. You will not be disappointed by this very comfortable and well-furnished cottage. Lesley and Michael have thought of everything - and then some! Enjoy your trip to Bermuda!
a perfect stay in bermuda re not a couple, lesley and mike even put up a bed in the living room. not to mention the bananas, eggs, the drive to grocery stores and lovely places around the place, the brochures, maps, etc. lesley also let us borrow their handphone.
and did i mention how nice lesley and mike are? :)
love you both, lesley and mike.. thank you for the nice stay you gave us :)
10 Stars out of 5!! Mike and Lesley are wonderful people and their cottage right next to their house was beautiful, huge, clean, centrally located and just downright perfect. But wait, there's more... we awoke on our first morning at Mike and Lesley's cottage to find a dozen fresh eggs and a half dozen fresh bananas!! We cooked the eggs up and they were delicious. But wait, there's more... every time we had a question about what to see or where to go or what's good and what may not be worth the effort, they were there to answer all our questions. They even gave us ferry tickets to save us some money. Mike and Lesley are so thoughtful. We can't wait to come back and stay at their lovely cottage on our next trip to Bermuda.
My husband, Joe, and I just got back from a wonderful week's stay at the one bedroom Bermuda cottage offered through Lesley and Michael Archer. The accommodations were exactly what we were looking for - comfortable, clean, convenient, and cozy. We especially liked being able to cook some of our own meals using the equipped kitchen. Since we relied on the buses to get us around the island, the location of this cottage was just perfect. And our hosts, Lesley and Michael, were really great. They have an absolutely beautiful slice of 'paradise' on Bermuda - Joe and I would highly recommend their cottage to anyone visiting the island. You will be delighted with the place!
We really enjoyed staying at the "Cozy & Comfy" cottage. The accommodations were larger than we expected. The kitchen was fully equipped and we were able to prepare many of our meals there. This made our holiday all the more affordable.
The owners, Michael and Lesley Archer, were friendly and accommodating. They even gave us a dozen eggs laid by their own chickens!
