  • We just loved staying with Josephine and Rocco the French dog. The apartment was beautiful and in a very convenient location for us, within walking distance from the train station and tram stops. Our blue room was prefect for the two of us and bigger than I anticipated.
Breakfast each morning was a lovely treat, with pastries, bread, yoghurt and drinks. We enjoyed starting the day with a full breakfast and I really enjoyed this time getting to know the other guests staying at the same time as us. We appreciated having this time in the morning to gather recommendations and information from Josephine who was happy to share all her local knowledge. We enjoyed her beach recommendations and ate at the pizza place twice!
Josephine was also happy to lend us beach gear (mats and umbrellas) for the day and any bus or train timetables we needed. We really loved our stay in Nice and will definitely stay with Josephine if she's still there when we return.

  • A petite apartment with very clean rooms + bathroom, very centrally located in a busy bustling district, and very well connected via public transport, all within a spitting distance from here.

Josephine is a very warm and helpful hostess. We had a wonderful home-stay with her, and experienced Nice + the closeby towns n villages + the local cuisine thru her helpful guidance.

    Highly recommended.

  • We stayed 4 nights in the blue room and 3 nights in the green room and had a wonderful stay with Josephine. Everything was very tidy, the bed was comfortable and the location was excellent for exploring the city and the surrounding areas, since it is next to the tram line and train station. The location is in a busy area and can be loud at night, so certainly worth investing in earplugs if you are a light sleeper (you can buy them at the pharmacy). I needed them for 1 night (which happened to be a very busy national holiday) but the rest of the nights were fine.

Breakfasts were fantastic and our chats with Josephine made our stay particularly enjoyable. She is a great resource for your travels and is very helpful with restaurant/attraction recommendations.

I did a fair amount of research prior to my stay with Josephine and it is a great value for the experience you get.

  • Josephine is a fantastic host who actually takes the tme to sit down with you and get to know you (as opposed to some other hosts we've stayed with). She provides all the necessities one needs to have a comfortable stay while on holiday, and the location is tops; right next to the train station (makes getting to and from very easy and painless). I would strongly reccommend staying with Josephine. We were there from July 24th-26th and while it was only a short stay, it was marvelous! :-)

  • My experience in Chez Josephine was an amazing one! She's a great person, full of life experience and many great stories to tell about her trips!
We were kindly greeted by her when we came in and we felt completely at home. Her house has such a charm. She takes care of everything very well paying attention to all the charming details that make the real difference. She helped us giving us valuable tips on the city and the region of Cote d'Azur. The room was great, full of charm! It was 5 min from the train station and in a very quiet street very close to the tram that takes us in 5 min to the seaside. The breakfast was delicious! I certainly recommend her to everyone that goes to Nice!

  • We loved our stay at Chez Josephine! The rooms were light, airy and large. The breakfast was very yummy, in particular the coffee! We arrived late in the afternoon but our host was still very welcoming. The location was handy with the train station so close. It was so nice we decided to stay two extra nights. Highly recommended!

  • Josephine's Blue Room was just right for our one-night stay in Nice. It's located in a great old building just 2 blocks from the train station, and right around the corner from a very nice large shopping area. She provided a lovely breakfast and good conversation. It was a fun stay. We would stay there again and recommend it highly.

  • Hi There,

I'd like to share an account of our stay with Josephine where she went above and beyond...

We arrived in Nice and stayed for two nights at CJ - Josephine is lovely and the apartment is perfectly located, comfortable and great value for money. We then travelled to Italy for a few nights. On our second last day in Italy, I fell and hurt my foot and the local Doc said I needed to go to hospital. Reviews of the local hospital were below average, so we decided to head back to France.

Josephine had been so lovely and helpful when we arrived that we called her to ask for help and to see if we could stay with her overnight again. Not only did she direct us (our GPS stopped working) to the best emergency hospital in Nice (we were the other side of town), she stayed up late to let us in after our hospital visit and then sat with me (making me tea and bringing delicious chocolates!) until my husband could arrange parking, bring in the luggage, arrange meds etc etc.

The following day she helped us translate my prescription for crutches, made us breakfast and generally made us feel at home, even though she had made plans for the day with friends.

It was like having our own friend in Nice!

So - all in all, I completely recommend staying at Chez Josephine. On our next trip to Nice, we definitely will again!

About
I am Scottish by birth and spent most of my working life in San Francisco as a wine steward/food server from (phone number hidden). I went back to Scotland to take care of my mother, & when she died I sold her house & eventually found myself in Nice. I took over my B&B in July 2010 & joined Airbnb in Nov. 2010. So far, so good : ) I am an avid reader, & if I can find someone to play with, a fiendish backgammon player. I love my little dog, Rocco. It's a pity he can't play backgammon. I am happy to advise my guests on what to see & do in & around Nice, or just leave them to their own devices, as they prefer. Life motto? Be here now.
