• The cabin is ideal for a couple, as it true the original Homesteader Cabin dimensions (20'x25').

• Joshua Tree is a rural desert area and may experience extreme weather, including heat, storms, and heavy rain. We are not responsible for weather-related impacts or utility interruptions, including power outages. Guests are responsible for planning accordingly.
• Pet Friendly: Yes we're pet friendly! One well-behaved dog allowed with a $60 pet fee, paid at time of booking. No dogs on the furniture. Dogs cannot be left alone in the house (unless crated) or in the yard. Please dispose of any pet waste. Failure to follow above rules may result in additional remediation fees.
• Please review our cancellation policy closely. If you’re worried about the possibility that you may need to cancel after the refund period is closed we highly recommend adding travel insurance to your booking.
• If you'd like to make an outdoor fire, make sure to bring firewood on your way in, the outdoor fireplace on the patio fireplace is stellar for an evening fire.
• The last 3/4 miles to the house is on a smooth, wide unpaved road suitable for any car. 4wd definitely not necessary, please drive slowly to keep the dust down for our neighbors (both human and equine).

Neighborhood highlights

The Homesteader is located in an area known as "The Mesa" by the locals - people are drawn to its wide-open desert vistas and amazing sunsets. Most properties are on 5 acre lots, with lots of open desert in between, so houses are more scattered about. At night you'll definitely see more stars than neighboring house lights. Shooting stars abound here - maybe because you're drawn up into the night sky out here. Our nearby neighbors are two horse ranches - some days you'll see more horses than passing cars. It's a pretty magical place.
