We spent 7 lovely days at the Dragon Pyramid. We found ourselves gracious hosts : Sally, Boi and their friend Suhandi. They helped us with all of our tour needs. It's very hard to decide which recommendations to take when one is travelling. It is important that the people you consult understand exactly what you need and how you will meet these needs. You can trust their recommendations. Everyone is just soo nice. It's truly a good and relaxing experience to stay at the Dragon Pyramid. Take the Mango Tree View Room if you are travelling as couple. You will enjoy the privacy. Sending you love from the Philippines, Sally and Boi! - Maya and Peejay
In the end it was a nightmare.
It started out really nice. 5 girls and one guy on a 3 day trip with Sally and Boi. The first days was great staying at Bois home, Boi and his family made suckling pig for us, we went to the beach. Had so much fun. We went to a ceremony at the temple, having an amazing time.
Then it turned. Boi started to hit on me hard. Telling me all of his marriage problems, even trying to kiss me. I was so embarrassed. First I really liked Sally, second who needs this on vacation? I told him that he should work it out with Sally, that they are a great couple, he was so depressed, I felt awful.
The second day started great again but I really felt uncomfortable around Boi. He took us all to a massageplace in the evening and then just left us there. We didn't know where he was. It was raining like hell, we all were really hungry, so we decided to call Sally. Wow, what a big mistake. Boi came totally drunk to the place we stayed and he really wanted a fight. Yelling at us, he was out of his mind because we called Sally and because he was so drunk and had no control any more of himself.
We all were really scared, just wanting to leave. One of the girls played sick and we asked Sally on the phone to get us back to Kuta. Boi apologized the next morning and drove us back. Was not a great drive back...
Sally gave us some of the money back from our 3 day trip. I told her that I'm leaving too. I had booked 9 days at the pyramid but with Boi there I just needed to leave. He told me that he was so happy that I would stay there one week longer so he could hit on me much longer...No way, I thought! The guy from our group told me that he saw Boi before hitting on other girlguest there too. I felt so sorry for Sally and I didn't want to get involved in any of it. Sally promised me to refund my money for the 9 days. Well, she never did...
So if you`re lucky, you might have a fabulous time there.
If not, just get out as soon as possible!
Sally and Boi were truly accommodating and truly helpful in suggesting things to do and places to visit. I took surfing a lesson from Boi and for someone who had never touched a surf board before, Boi got me standing on my surfboard surfing a wave.
A few things to note:
-Be sure to have Sally's number if you are hailin a cab. From experience most taxis don't know (yet) where Dragon Pyramid's located. It is getting better and BlueBird taxis have them on their database so grab a bluebird taxi (as Sally says).
-The shower is on a low-pressure system so there is little water coming out of the shower head and it takes a little while for hot water to come out.
-The internet in Bali is unstable and can be frustrating when trying to work but Sally was extremely accommodating in rebooting the router and finding ways to get the internet going for you.
-They have a number of pets in the house.
-The living area is a smoking area.
For the rates they are offering, it is fair and reasonable. Sally and Boi made all the difference in my stay so thank you so much Sally and Boi. They were incredibly welcoming and warm throughout my stay.
If you want to feel at home in a foreign place as Bali then this is the place to be. We had a great time, every body was very helpful, Sally's hospitality was endless, she can help and advise you, what to do and how to travel.
Her open place with swimming pool around is unique and nice to chill every time of the day.
It was a great joy.

Dragon Pyramid is an amazing place where we've met amazing people.
The place is comfortable and so welcoming. We especially have good souvenir of fhe living room, surounded by the pool, where we had very nice times with Sally, Boi and the other gest chatting, listening to music, playing guitar, eating - paredise.
Sally and Boi took good care of us, shared a lot, gave us the best tips about the neighbourhood and Bali - also took us on an amazing tour I recommand.
It's definitely a good souvenir we have - looking forward to coming back. Boi and Sally are amazing people who love people
Sally and Boi were wonderful hosts. Sally is so helpful and willing to share her knowledge of the island. It's a quick cab ride for a few dollars to the beach. I would definitely recommend.
I loved my stay at Dragon Pyramid. Sally and Boy were very helpful knowing lots of handy info for travellers about life in Bali and local culture. Its a great location and beautiful house, a fun and homely atmosphere at the house, thanks for having me guys xo
Sally and Boi are indeed great hosts. Sally was more than happy to point me in the direction of fun things to do around the island and was extremely accommodating. For Boi’s birthday they cooked a giant feast and we had a pleasant communal dining... well until boy had a bit too much to drink and threatened me with his fist for interrupting his dinner by asking about the recipe of the chili sauce. Really??? Whatever the miscommunication was, an apology from either Sally or Boi would have been nice.
The mango room has aircon but probably isn’t worth paying for if the power goes in and out throughout the house (as it did), no fan, no hotwater or reliable internet was also a pain. With that said, for the price you are paying and the absolute friendliness of Sally you can’t really complain.... Definetely a great budget accomodation.
Firstly and most importantly. Boi and I both recall apologising for the drunken incident. We would again like to apologise for this.
Secondly. OUR INTERNET IS RELIABLE but our guests crashed out our quota at the beginning of the Indonesian Independence Day Long Weekend so we could not renew our package until Monday when Boi was at the office first thing in the morning to sort it out. Which we had explained and apologised for.
Thirdly. There is no extra fee for the A/C room. It is the same price as all of our double room. We had some electrical problem but as it was the Indonesian Independence Day Long Weekend we could not get anyone to come and check on the problems. You can see on the reviews of this room at no-one else has had problems with the A/C.
We do try our best to sort out issues as they arise and really appreciate people who tell us what we could do better.
I had a great time at Mango Tree View in August 2013, Sally and Boi are truly the quintessential hosts and are both so sweet and ready to help with whatever you may need. I stay in the Mango Tree View, which was clean and basic with working air-conditioning. During my stay there, I met other wonderful travelers, learnt how to cook a yummy local dinner with Boi and had many chilled out nights by the pool drinking bintang or arak and listening to Boi play the guitar. I encourage you to stay at Dragon Pyramid if you're looking to meet other travelers and want to have a taste of local life away from the touristy scene. I now consider both Sally and Boi great friends and will definitely be back to see them!
Sally and Boy were amazing hosts! They helped me when I needed it, but more than hosts or guides, they felt like family. We hung out in their living room and cooked and ate meals together. They are super knowledgeable about the area and the local culture. It was an amazing experience staying with them!
