It is in a Balinese area with many great small local restaurants nearby. Right next door is a great restaurant which makes delicious BBQ chicken or fish, fried rice and fried noodles all Bali style of course.

We spent 7 lovely days at the Dragon Pyramid. We found ourselves gracious hosts : Sally, Boi and their friend Suhandi. They helped us with all of our tour needs. It's very hard to decide which recommendations to take when one is travelling. It is important that the people you consult understand exactly what you need and how you will meet these needs. You can trust their recommendations. Everyone is just soo nice. It's truly a good and relaxing experience to stay at the Dragon Pyramid. Take the Mango Tree View Room if you are travelling as couple. You will enjoy the privacy. Sending you love from the Philippines, Sally and Boi! - Maya and Peejay
In the end it was a nightmare.
It started out really nice. 5 girls and one guy on a 3 day trip with Sally and Boi. The first days was great staying at Bois home, Boi and his family made suckling pig for us, we went to the beach. Had so much fun. We went to a ceremony at the temple, having an amazing time.
Then it turned. Boi started to hit on me hard. Telling me all of his marriage problems, even trying to kiss me. I was so embarrassed. First I really liked Sally, second who needs this on vacation? I told him that he should work it out with Sally, that they are a great couple, he was so depressed, I felt awful.
The second day started great again but I really felt uncomfortable around Boi. He took us all to a massageplace in the evening and then just left us there. We didn't know where he was. It was raining like hell, we all were really hungry, so we decided to call Sally. Wow, what a big mistake. Boi came totally drunk to the place we stayed and he really wanted a fight. Yelling at us, he was out of his mind because we called Sally and because he was so drunk and had no control any more of himself.
We all were really scared, just wanting to leave. One of the girls played sick and we asked Sally on the phone to get us back to Kuta. Boi apologized the next morning and drove us back. Was not a great drive back...
Sally gave us some of the money back from our 3 day trip. I told her that I'm leaving too. I had booked 9 days at the pyramid but with Boi there I just needed to leave. He told me that he was so happy that I would stay there one week longer so he could hit on me much longer...No way, I thought! The guy from our group told me that he saw Boi before hitting on other girlguest there too. I felt so sorry for Sally and I didn't want to get involved in any of it. Sally promised me to refund my money for the 9 days. Well, she never did...
So if you`re lucky, you might have a fabulous time there.
If not, just get out as soon as possible!
Sally and Boi were truly accommodating and truly helpful in suggesting things to do and places to visit. I took surfing a lesson from Boi and for someone who had never touched a surf board before, Boi got me standing on my surfboard surfing a wave.
A few things to note:
-Be sure to have Sally's number if you are hailin a cab. From experience most taxis don't know (yet) where Dragon Pyramid's located. It is getting better and BlueBird taxis have them on their database so grab a bluebird taxi (as Sally says).
-The shower is on a low-pressure system so there is little water coming out of the shower head and it takes a little while for hot water to come out.
-The internet in Bali is unstable and can be frustrating when trying to work but Sally was extremely accommodating in rebooting the router and finding ways to get the internet going for you.
-They have a number of pets in the house.
-The living area is a smoking area.
For the rates they are offering, it is fair and reasonable. Sally and Boi made all the difference in my stay so thank you so much Sally and Boi. They were incredibly welcoming and warm throughout my stay.
If you want to feel at home in a foreign place as Bali then this is the place to be. We had a great time, every body was very helpful, Sally's hospitality was endless, she can help and advise you, what to do and how to travel.
Her open place with swimming pool around is unique and nice to chill every time of the day.
It was a great joy.

Hello my new Friends!!
Sally is Australian and first came to Bali with Australian Volunteer International working as a midwife consultant/capacity builder helping to establish a Birth Centre for the Poor of Bali in Denpasar. She then fell in love with Bali and now lives here. Sally still provides consultancy for the Birth Centre and donates 10% of the homestay income to supporting the women, babies and families who use the clinic.
i have now opened my home to guests and I am having so much fun sharing life and Balinese culture with my homestay family.
My life is not perfect but it is full of love and humanity.
