The place was beautiful online and it was even more beautiful in person! Not only was the place wonderful but both Sally and Pras took care of so many little details that made my trip excellent. They are well respected members of the community and do a lot to give back to the locals and it showed. I feel like I was not only taken care of but connected with a new "Bali Family" that has me thinking about my next trip!!!!! If you have the opportunity to snag a room here go for it! It's much more fun than a place to stay it is a connection to the real Bali!!! It's not something the bigger hotels and accommodations can offer!!!!!! Their next door neighbor is a tour guide and local that showed me sides of Bali I left feeling like many get the opportunity to see!!!
Sally and Pras were excellent hosts, charming, helpful and kind. The place is big and clean with trees and plant around the garden.
The room is big and has a lot of windows with lot of light but are not blocked, so the mosquitos can get in, many mosquitos; the bed has a mosquito net but has several wholes so, don't block completely the mosquitos. The room is located in the center of the house, so you will listen mostly all the sounds of the house.
The shared bathroom was really an issue for us. it has two doors, one connects one of the rooms with toilet, but you can not lock the door, so the guest staying in that room can get in while u are using it, but what is worse is that the other door, the exterior one, can be locked by the other person and u will be locked out of the toilet with any other option within the house, it happened to us three times in four days. Pras help us knocking one the door of the guest ...but was really an issue for us.
Great location to start our journey in Bali at. Sally's driver kindly picked us up from the airport at midnight, which made things smooth and easy. Awesome vegan breakfast and cool ambiance at the place. Sally and Pras were helpful to their upmost, helped us procure and rent a motorbike for a month, and directed us via map and landmarks to Tanah Lot, Seminyak, and Ubud. Cheap local warungs nearby are fun and tasty! We stayed two nights and will definitely be back for more July 1st! Thanks for all!!
We arrived at the Dragon Pyramid late at night but Sally arranged for us to get picked up by a friendly driver named Kadek at the airport. He was very informative and helpful so we used him again when we moved from our Kuta home stay to Ubud. The Dragon Pyramid is a very large room with a fan under the mosquito net that keeps you nice and cool. The mattress was on the floor which means that ants easily crawl into bed with you but nevertheless a comfortable sleep. The grounds were well maintained by a gardener which gave you the feel of being in a jungle in the heart of the city. The pool was clean and cool with no heavy chlorine. The fresh water tank and kitchen were very helpful because there are very few restaurant options close by. All and all a great stay.
There are probably 30 local restaurants just a short walk from our home, and street food in the evenings is cheap and an great. At the local restaurants you will get great local food for 10,000 to 30,000 idr.
The only time there are problems with ants are when people leave food in unsealed containers in the rooms, better you put in the fridge that is available for guest to use.
It was fantastic! We couldn't had a better start on our Bali-journey. Sally helped us a lot by giving tips and overall just making us comfortable with her warm heart and hospitality. To me the Dragon Pyramid felt like a little paradise. I highly recommend it!
Hi sally thanks again for the great room, the dragon pyramid was amazing, short and sweet stay of two nights but was a good change to the busy hotels
Sally's home stay was perfect for my first trip through Bali. The setup is very peaceful and welcoming. It became a second home to me in the end. I have built a life long friendship with these folks. It is a must for any foreigners looking for great advice on the island. Sally has many loyal friends who also help out with taxi's, scooters and a bite to around the corner. I would live here if I could.
