The space
We are a Bed & Breakfast now open year round.

And did we mention a full breakfast is included every morning of your stay!

There are three rooms available. Each room comes with a huge closet space, two rooms have a queen sized bed, the other has a full sized bed, each has a large window with views to the forest. There is an option of one ground floor room or two second floor rooms that are both very private and comfortable spaces.

The House is a two storey open-plan design with views from front to back of the house, natural light pours in from all angles, and the walls are dotted with artworks. There are hundreds of books to choose from for your weekend stay.

Prices include Coffee & Tea daily, as well as full Breakfast choices of what is in season and stocked with delicious items such as locally raised Free Range Eggs, Gourmet Cheeses, Fresh Vegetables, Honey, Locally Crafted Jams, Breads, In-House-made Granola, and other delights. Pam makes beautiful food and always uses the best quality ingredients as well as many homegrown and homemade goods. This is what country living is all about!

Guests have access to their rooms as well as the various living spaces; the first floor bathroom with a large glass block shower, second floor bathroom with large glass block shower as well as double sink and vanity storing extra towels, toilet paper and bathroom amenities; full use of the fireplace, two living rooms and a back deck that overlooks the forest, as well as full access to the surrounding property.

There is access to Basel lake through the forest behind the property and a short walk down Basel Road for another angle.

There is a 10 Minute drive to the Shawangunk Mountains where you can enjoy many wonderful attractions; a famous Granite Rock lookout called Bear Cliff is great for Sunsets in the historic Art Colony Hamlet of Cragsmoor, access to the Cragsmoor historic
Stone Church, also close by is Sam's Point Preserve (4,600 acres) with access to Lake Maratanza, Ice Caves, and many walking trails at an altitude of (2,289 feet/697 m).

Depending on the season there is easy access to wild Blue Berry and Cranberry picking (usually July).

A favorite pastime in the spring and summer are excursions to waterfalls and ancient Glacial lakes such as Minewaska, and Mohonk Preserve for picnics, swimming and local fine dining along the Shawangunk Ridge.

Basel Lake behind the property attracts animal lovers as the property and its surroundings are frequently visited by Canadian Geese and Bald Eagles nest in the trees. Also seen are Squirrels, Chip Monks, Blue Jays, Red Cardinals, Robins, and other local Fauna including Deer, Foxes, and sometimes turtles who lay their eggs in the grass by The Chiesa's. This lake is a protected wetlands area which we do not use to swim or fish. In winter we walk across the 8” deep Ice cover to explore the beavers mounds and enjoy the shawangunk mountain range vista.

In July there are also Fireflies which are a fun phenomena for children to experience.

We as the Hosts live in the upper southern-facing wing of the Chiesa's and are here to share our knowledge of the Area and to provide the best service with an in-home feeling for you all.

You can learn about what the Chiesa's Matriarch, Pamela Chiesa, grows in the spring/summer seasons of New York State in her organic garden, use herbs and veges for your desired dishes, and watch as the hosts prepare gourmet food in an open plan kitchen. You can even take a cooking class to learn fantastic Italian recipes so you may take a piece of The Chiesa's with you.

Terence Chiesa is a master carpenter who built the Chiesa's house with his bare hands.
He is also a Performance Poet that presents his poetry in different character voices. He has performed off Broadway and in the Hudson Valley.

Pamela Chiesa is the mama Chef of The Chiesa's. She prepares the most divine Italian dishes as well as other recipes of the world that were inspired by her travels overseas.

Julia Chiesa is the youngest daughter of Terry and Pam, and the administrator of this Air BnB site/communications. She is also an Artist, Chef and is happily at your service. Julia presently lives in California working in the film industry though she continues to act as co-host to Pam and Terry.

Hi everyone, Julia and Pamela Chiesa here! We are native Hudson Valleyonians here to help you enjoy your time when visiting the area. We have traveled the world over and have set up a beautiful place for the world to now come to us. First we want to say "Thanks for your interest in staying at The Chiesa's!" Upon Julia's return to the USA in April 2015, after traveling the world for 10 years, our Family got together and reopened a Family Tradition of running a Bed & Breakfast to share the beautiful Hudson Valley and all that it has to offer while providing a very peaceful place to call home for other world travelers. We are a weekday and weekend Bed & Breakfast and are accepting requests anytime. Our B&B is run by long-term residents & members of the original hippies, Pamela and Terence Chiesa on Terence's family land. This land was purchased by Italian Food Connoisseur Giuseppe Chiesa to host visitors, and much like we are doing today, feed people great food, great wine, a peaceful place to sleep to share enjoyment of the surrounding beauty. The Retreat sleeps up to 8 people in three unique bedrooms. Each bedroom is decorated elegantly with queen sized or full sized beds, a closet and views to the wilderness. The House was built by Terence Chiesa, who is also a master wood craftsman among other arts, and the space is of modern open aired design, with many spaces to read, host friends and gather that much needed rest and relaxation. If you are interested in escaping the hustle bustle of New York City, have the need to explore the area's famous rock climbing cliffs, or just need to do something different from the usual... Just send us a message and we look forward to helping you get the most out of your stay! We look forward to hosting you!
