About this listing
Using combination of Joglo and Bali rural atmosphere concept, Puri Tupai is uniqueness of accommodation to whom travel with their family, even with small kids or older people. With totally land about 3,500 sqm, 4 bedrooms and other support facilities.
Puri Tupai villa is surrounded by a river on three sides, with only swaying coconut trees for neighbors, you can relax in idyllic seclusion, basking in the island's renowned sunsets and luxuriating in a climate that is as close to paradise as can be found on earth.
The word Tupai in Bahasa means "squirrels", a warm, friendly, likable animal which is native to the lands where Puri Tupai was built. It is also a poetic metaphor for its harmonious nature. Puri, of course, is "castle". The squirrel emblem, adorned with the acorn, is a reference to Elite Concepts.
Puri Tupai consists of two traditional joglo houses, incorporating the best of Javanese and Balinese architecture. The two pavilions have a total of four bedrooms, which can accommodate up to eight guests in genteel comfort. Like Ubud, which is famous for its leisurely pace, Puri Tupai has a relaxed atmosphere, which enhances one's inner serenity.
Passing leisure hours is a joy at Puri Tupai. Swim laps in the 25-meter pool, or play Wimbledon-style tennis on our natural grass court. Stroll through the sculpture garden in the evening, accompanied by the song of crickets, as gentle breezes caress you.
A sumptuous breakfast is included each day, as is the services of a car & driver to take you anywhere on this many-faceted island. There is also maid service, a masseuse, tennis coach, and 24-hour security for those who wish for rest and recreation in a uniquely tranquil setting.

Memories: sitting on the deck of the master bedroom late at night in the tropical warmth gazing at the lit-up garden under a Balinese moon; waking to the Balinese morning sounds of roosters and the wooden gong of the local temple; watching the lady in her colourful sarong every morning placing floral offerings in the shrines around our garden.
The reality of Puri Tupai surpassed the website photos. The 2 joglo
pavilions, separated by a cooling water feature, looked first onto a
formal garden, then onto an impeccable lawn, then onto the vast deep green swimming pool. These were ringed by coconut palms. Beyond the pool was our full size grass tennis court, 2 authentic rice storage huts on stilts backed by bamboo and jungle trees. We were tempted never to leave our walled oasis.
Sure, Ubud is crowded and noisy, but venture just beyond to experience peace and tranquility with a 2-hour early morning walk through the rice paddies - an absolute must-do. We luckily timed our visit with Galungan, so every street was lined with graceful festive arches of decorated bamboo.
Sri, the villa manager, was lovely and extremely helpful. Agung, the
cook, indulged us with generous and delicious breakfasts, different each day. We had a number of lunches and dinners at the villa which were very reasonably priced and restaurant quality, Eka and Wayan were friendly and discreet but always there if you needed them. And nothing was too much trouble for Ketut, the villa driver who took us on local and day excursions.
Our 11 and 9 year olds loved exploring the vast garden, spending long hours in the huge pool, having a hit at tennis, drinking delicious
watermelon juice, showering looking at the open sky and enjoying the 2 resident pups.
The mobility-challenged member of our party enjoyed the non-slip pool (he accessed it via a handy chaise longue - no rails), the master
bathroom was generously sized (but again no rails). Also note there is
one large step into and between the pavilions and 4 small steps to the
garden level. Ketut is experienced with the disabled.
Our stay at Puri Tupai exceeded all our expectations!
Villa Puri Tupai is an absolute haven. Our six guests were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived with a delicious meal prepared for us by Agung, the resident cook. The villa is fully staffed and the incredibly friendly team, whilst discreet, were always available to assist with any needs or queries that we had. The interiors are a perfect mix of contemporary resort style with traditional Balinese detailing and exceptional craftsmanship. You can tell that someone has designed the spaces with a lot of thought. The gardens are expansive and serene and are tended for with love and care every day. We visited during the wet season which meant that rainy periods were happily spent indoors chatting, reading and enjoying a glass of wine or two. There are various comfortable areas where you can sit with friends or grab some quiet time alone, which is great for large groups. Sunshine meant pool time, and we even managed a relaxing afternoon of massages and beauty treatments by the pool. Ketut was our driver for the week and was always charming and accommodating. The centre of Ubud is between 15 - 45 minutes away depending on the traffic, and the villa offers a daily shuttle into town. There are dozens of fantastic restaurants in the area and we had some great meals out and about. Bridges restaurant was a highlight. Sri also arranged a day at the Jambangan cooking school for us, which we'd highly recommend. All in all, it was a wonderful week and we would have happily stayed forever. Thank you Sri and team!
The villa is a little treasure, hidden in a beautiful garden. People working there are very kind, specially Made, Pandi and Noura. We also had a great massage, next to the pool, in the morning. As it is a huge villa, it's better to share the rate with friends or family. We'd like to come back one day...
First impression of villa is quite good as I saw in Airbnb.. they managed the lawn and garden very neatly and pool was quite clean as well.
Villa (name is Puri Tupai) was fantastic place for 4 families(+ 2 babies) in Ubud. We can enjoy swimming and frisbee and Tennis as well because there is big enough yard. Most of all, It is quite calm.. Inside of Villa, there are many local & traditional furniture and also good audio system. (If you want to use this, please bring AUX cable)
Manager (Sri) was kind and support us very actively.. and maid service was quite good as well. If you want, they are going to serve lunch/dinner with cheap price. In terms of location, 5km from center of Ubud, but there are free shuttle to/from Villa.. so don't worry about it. you can buy small stuffs such as Beer in supermarket (100m from villa)
