A guest suite in the heart of Beachwood Canyon, you have the flavor of California living below the Hollywood sign. Perfect for extended or short stays.
A beautifully appointed furnished guest suite in the heart of Beachwood Canyon. The suite was conceived as a creative sanctuary for a musician, screenwriter, actor, director, DP, or traveler for either short or extended periods of time. Tucked in a canyon setting, you get all the comforts of a hotel, yet with far more privacy, cooking and entertaining options, and the true flavor of casual California living. Located in the Glens, it is right down the street from the famous Hollywood sign and is a nice retreat from the bustling city life below. The house is nestled in nature but in close proximity to the 101 freeway, many film/TV studios, and Sunset Gower and Ocean Way recording studios. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and nightlife just minutes away. For those who prefer to walk, the house is just around the corner from the historic Beachwood Village -- which includes a cafe, day Spa, drycleaner, flower shop, antique shop, and a full service supermarket. The bus that stops at the corner takes you into the heart of Hollywood. For favorite restaurants, places and things to do, see our website once you've booked: (website hidden).
The space doesn't have a separate bedroom, but consists of two contemporary rooms appointed with high end furnishings, and the queen-sized Murphy bed is amazingly comfortable. The sofa bed opens to a double - and is the new Italian style without a support bar that hits at the hip.
This is a non-smoking house and is available short term and long term.

Second time staying with Vicki and Joey now at their lovely home in the Hollywood Hills. Do I need to say more? It is always a pleasure and they are such welcoming hosts.
Staying at Vickis house was the best thing, that could have happened to us. The place is gorgeous, the neighborhood is one of the most beautiful in Los Angeles, and we felt at home from the minute we walked in. Vicki and her husband Joey made our stay very special and unforgettable. Vicki cares for you like a good friend couldn't do better. It was hard leaving, that means we had a wonderful time!
Had a very comprehensive tour of the property and how everything worked on arrival by Vicki and Joey. The apartment is very well finished and well equipped for everything you need (even basic supplies in the fridge for our arrival). The cable TV even has all the English Premiership games on NBC Sports! (important to a man :)
Location wise was equally good with a café and supermarket within walking distance and a short car ride and you are on Hollywood Boulevard with access to the metro system into Downtown (this can also be accessed with a local bus service). Neighborhood is nice and quiet if you're looking to relax.
Only down side was it was a bit cold at night so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the beautiful back garden as much as we had hoped. Next time...............
Great hosts, great location. Nice to have parking in this popular area. Murphy bed really enhanced the usable space and was quite comfortable. We enjoyed a barbecue with our sons on the very attractive patio and the owner even lighted the ethanol powered fire feature. This property has everything you need and owners who give a lot of attention to detail.
This guest suite was wonderful! All of the other reviews were spot on. The suite was beautifully appointed (I agree with the commenter who said the photo didn't do it justice), and it had all of the amenities of home and then some. Our hosts had fresh fruit, croissants, coffee, and half-and-half waiting for us (what a nice touch!). After our first night, Vicki checked in to see if there was anything we needed or anything she could help us with re: sightseeing or reservations. Honestly, Vicki and Joey were wonderful hosts and we would definitely stay in their guest suite again!
The day I arrived, Vicki and Joey invited me to join them for dinner. They live directly upstairs from the apartment offered. I declined, but they were eager to have me over as a dinner guest during my stay. I was delighted to accept a chicken dinner with them and a couple of their friends during the course of my visit. They make every effort to get to know who is staying there, and offer enormous hospitality. Vicki and Joey run the apartment as their business, and clearly pride themselves on their work. As a result they are extremely accommodating. The washer/dryer is shared, and there were times when Joey used the outdoor space (which looks directly into the rented unit), so the line of privacy was blurry to me. The apartment itself has all the amenities one could possibly want, is beautifully maintained and extremely quiet. It does not get any direct sunlight. The Murphy bed is in the kitchen. When I arrived they had set up the lock code with a phone number of mine I have not used for well over a year, and did not supply to them. I found out as I was leaving there are security cameras. If one is looking for total privacy one will not get it, but if one is wanting to feel taken care of and have someone available to interact with, this is the place for you! Personally I loved staying there and politely drew the line of privacy that was comfortable for me.
This was my first airbnb experience. I was delighted to meet my hosts. The guest suite was pleasantly decorated, very clean and well maintained. I felt very comfortable staying there. I feel that the hosts thought of everything a traveler could want and included in the suite. The neighborhood was quiet and I loved being in the Hollywood area where there is a lot to do and see.
I would love to stay there again.
I am a native Californian, and lived in this location since 1981. Joey was born in NYC and moved to California when he was 9. I am happy that Los Angeles has become so very multi-national - people from all over the world, and restaurants to remind them of home! (You can tell we love food ..) Joey is Puerto Rican, and makes some amazing dishes: arroz con gandules, chicken fricassee, and most requested - his flan! We enjoy hosting people from all over the world and sharing our favorite places to visit in Los Angeles. If you visit LA during the summer, and you like music, please go to the Hollywood Bowl!
If you want hands-on hosts, we can do that. If you want hands off -- your idea of a good time is private, quiet time -- we can do that, too!
Our favorite vacation spot in the world so far: Venice, Italy! (But not in the summer heat. We aren't heat-seeking guests or hosts ..)
My motto: SEE THE WORLD THROUGH DANCE.
It used to be See the world through salsa dance, but as we are getting older, most salsa music is too fast for us to keep up with!
You can search for our website hollywoodguestsuite and there you can find links to some of our favorite restaurants, places to see, things to do in and around Hollywood. The site leads right back to our airbnb page for reservations. We hope to host you soon!
