An eclectic collection of treasures from around the world await to be enjoyed in this one of a kind Loft located in Portland's Pearl district. I travel the world for a living as a performer with Cirque du Soleil and am an avid collector of rare and curious artifacts. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Portland's Pearl District is a true urban paradise and has a walkability score of 99! Whatever you're looking for is most likely within a 5 minute walk out the front door!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in Patrick's loft in Portland for 8 nights. It is a great location for visiting both the Pearl District and the NW District. There are plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance, and it is an easy stroll as far as 23rd Avenue in NW District. The loft location convenient on 4th floor, nice view of the Park Block, quiet and clean neighborhood. Patrick was gracious host, met us with instructions and demonstrations of facilities and good advice regarding local amenities. Absolutely beats a hotel stay. We look forward to visiting Portland again soon and definitely hope Patrick's loft is available.
I have nothing but rave reviews for both our host and his place. From the very first contact, Patrick was both both hospitable and exceptionally helpful. All of the things that make a traveler nervous, he removed from the equation. Not only did he help us get from the airport to his house, but he even sent a video to show us the particulars of the key fob, which keys to use etc. And then there was the place! It's located in the middle of EVERYTHING. You won't need a car. And the interior is just as the photos show, only better. Wonderfully appointed in every way and very comfortable. Nothing is lacking. We couldn't have asked for more. We're coming back!
Patrick's loft in the Pearl District was everything we dreamed of. This was my first experience with Airbnb, and let me tell you we will never use a hotel again. Patrick's home welcomed us and provided everything and more. With it's prime location, we parked our car for the week and walked to all the amenities that the Pearl offers.
Just returned from a month at Patrick's fantastic condo, and couldn't have wished for a better home away from home.
I've used airbnb a number of times and the experience with Patrick was far and away the best. The space is well laid out, has tons of character, and is in a great location. All is exactly as you see and read about in the description/listing. The instructions and assistance you'll find are extremely thorough (manuals, video links, etc.), and Patrick's communications are just unparalleled. Add to that a very comfortable king bed, an espresso machine and grinder, access to a fantastic rooftop deck, and you're just gilding the lily. Especially at this price for the Pearl District in Portland - a city that, based on comparison with past trips over the last 5 years is steadily growing in popularity with visitors - you won't find a better option.
It's also great fun to watch the videos of Patrick's performances on the iPad provided, seeing some of the items that are around the space in use. It all just adds to the charm and character of the place.
There's much nearby and in easy walking distance. Park Kitchen, a great farm-to-table restaurant, is a block down the street. (We didn't get to the wine bar on the corner, though read good things about it in the weeklies.) Other favorites in easy walking distance: Nuvrei, at 10th & Flanders, if you decide to go out for coffee or for a quick bagel sandwich for lunch; great French macaron also. Oven & Shaker, just up Everett in the Pearl, a casual restaurant specializing in wood-oven pizzas and great cocktails (try the Aviation, a classic cocktail - co-creator of locally-made Aviation gin, made especially for it, created the cocktail list here); great salads as well. Clyde Common, always packed, great food and exceptional cocktails made famous by head bartender Jeffrey Morganthaler (anything barrel-aged is an easy choice); the staff is terrific, and part of the fun is sitting at the common tables, where we met locals as well as visitors from San Francisco, New York, Amsterdam, and a marionette group from Salzburg, Austria.
Whether staying for a long weekend or a month, this is hands-down one of the best airbnb experiences you'll ever have.
Exceptional host and accommodations!
Pat was very welcoming. He communicated well about check-in and out, responded quickly to all our inquiries (while on the other side of the world) and made great suggestions for transit, sightseeing and restaurants. He provides luxurious linens and amenities, plenty of hanging and drawer space, and the loft is spotless. We particularly enjoyed his entertaining instructional videos for the expresso maker!
The loft is as beautiful as pictured. Pat leads an interesting and unusual life, which is reflected in the charming personal memorabilia and props that are sprinkled about. The best feature of the place is the windows. Fresh air, greenery and natural light provide instant relaxation!
The neighborhood is centrally located. We were able to easily walk to the river, parks, coffee shops, food carts, restaurants, art galleries and yoga classes in the Pearl district and downtown. It could not be more accessible to all of the transit options, bus & light rail, that connect with all other parts of the city.
The purpose of our visit to Portland was to see whether we might relocate here. The answer was a resounding YES, especially if we could move into Pat's loft!
Patrick's communication was first class from the initial booking to the instructions leaving the loft. He was responsive, informative and enjoyable throughout the whole experience.
Patrick was super responsive to all messages before and during our 11-day stay and left great directions via writing and video about how to get in and out, use the laundry, garbage/recycling, TV, sound system, bar, espresso machine, etc. My husband and I stayed there more for business than pleasure, but I did notice that there was a welcome basket with numerous pamphlets and books about cool things to do in the city. There are fold-up bikes which we didn't get a chance to ride but really wanted to! There are umbrellas in case showers come your way. Surprisingly, it only rained once while we were there. It seems that he thought of every detail to make us right at home. The place is very near a lot a great food and drink spots as well as independent movie theaters and downtown. We walked most places but had brought our car with us. Be forewarned that parking is a pain, but we found $10 daily rates at the Safeway parking lot 0.7 miles away (there are closer, more expensive places for daily parking if you don't want to walk), then we would bring the car back for free street parking 7pm-8am overnight. Otherwise, there's easy to find $1.60/hr 3hour spots out front, you just need to move the car to a different block a couple times during the day if you opt for this option. The place is beautiful with lots of fun decorations related to Pat's work, exactly as pictured. The only downsides were one of the florescent lights being out in the bathroom which made it a bit tough to get ready, but we were told was a known issue and apologized to by his friend that let us in on arrival. Coordinating key pickup was a bit complicated since we were traveling and had to get the key from a friend of Pat's that could meet us during windows of time 2:30-4pm or after 7pm. Since we were driving several hours to get there, we had some difficulty estimating, but this turned out fine. Alternatively, Pat said that is he's out of town or there is a mailing address for you, he can send the key to you ahead of time which would eliminate this issue. Overall, I would highly recommend anyone staying here. We loved it and really enjoyed our stay!
