An eclectic collection of treasures from around the world await to be enjoyed in this one of a kind Loft located in Portland's Pearl district. I travel the world for a living as a performer with Cirque du Soleil and am an avid collector of rare and curious artifacts. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
There are many creature comforts to be found here including wireless high speed internet, 2 folding bicycles complete with lights and helmets for cruising the city, semi-automatic Rancilio Espresso machine and coffee grinder, iPad connected to a wireless printer for printing boarding passes etc., 2 Turkish bathrobes (one medium one large), cable TV, King size bed with top of the line Englander mattress and 210 thread count 100% pure long-staple Egyptian cotton sheets from Restoration Hardware, 47" LG LCD HDTV, Blu-ray player, Bose surround sound system with iPod docking station, Apple 27" LED flat panel cinema display for your laptop (sorry but you must have the necessary cables if using an older mac or non mac computer..), stainless steel appliances with gas for cooking, plus the "honor bar"! This is a well-stocked liquor cabinet left unlocked and available to be enjoyed by responsible adults. Please feel free to have a nip or two or three! I only ask that before you checkout please either restock the bar with something comparable in quality and quantity to what you’ve enjoyed or give "Olaf" the drinking gnome a tip : )
Portland's Pearl District is a true urban paradise and has a walkability score of 99! Whatever you're looking for is most likely within a 5 minute walk out the front door!
This was a great, funky condo for me and my wife to stay in for our week stay in Portland. Location is central to many great restaurants, shopping and craft brew pubs. Patrick was extremely responsive and helpful. I would whole heartedly recommend a stay in Patricks condo.
Ohhh Portland, I miss you!!!
I came to Portland for vacation, and my boyfriend and I had a fabulous time - Patrick's loft had a huge influence on our experience. We were located right in Pearl District and walking distance (5-20 min max.) to every notable destination on the west side of the river - Providence Park, Keller Fountain, Saturday Market, Voodoo, Blue Star, Heart, Stumptown, Powell's, Whole Foods, Rite Aid, North Face, Patagonia, etc. We had a rental car and parking never became an issue. There are public parking lots we used during the day (when we weren't out hiking), and moved the car to the street after 7pm - 8am (when street parking is free). IF we paid for parking, it would have been a whole $9 a day. The loft has character (with all of Patrick's cool stuff), extremely clean, and includes a ton of amenities that are so helpful in a new city. There is an iPad for your use, maps that past visitors have left, a refrigerator for leftovers, pots and pans if you want to cook or make a quick snack, nice toiletries that hotels would not spend the money on (nice toilet paper, bar soap, shampoo, body soap, tissue, etc), cable to watch the World Cup (if we weren't (email hidden)), etc. I couldn't have imagined a better location and awesome ambiance for our Portland vacation. This is such a nice loft, and I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone that has the opportunity to stay here!
Patrick was very accommodating and incredibly responsive (especially given that he was out of town too). The flat really is centrally located--most of the things we did were within 6 city blocks, including very high quality food (Park Kitchen was right down stairs and amazing), Powell's Books, shopping, parks, etc. The flat itself was gorgeously decorated with a wonderful view of trees.
The experience was awesome. Patrick was as helpful a host as there could be and he seemed to have thought of all the details for making sure our stay was as good as possible. I would highly recommend staying here and I can't imagine anyone not loving it as much as we did.
Patrick was a perfect host and excellent communicator from the first time I contacted him. His loft is even nicer than it looks in the photos. He has taken care of every detail so your stay is not bothered by running out for little things like a wine opener. Patrick leads a fascinating life and the décor in his loft reflects that wonderful eclectic style coupled with high end furnishings and appliances. The windows open wide to offer you lots of fresh air and the feel of living in a park. We loved his neighborhood! Everything is either within easy walking distance or close to public transportation. Whole Foods is a short walk away and a smaller boutique food market is just around the corner. The restaurants in the Pearl district are fantastic and varied, ranging from Brew pubs to intimate upscale culinary dining. The famous Powell's book store is a few short blocks away. Should you want to get away from the city you can rent a car in town and drive to the Columbia River gorges area or the beach easily in a day. Portland has so much to offer and I can't imagine a better base to explore it than Patrick's loft. Really can't say enough positive things about it, we'd come back in a heart beat! Thank you. Patrick for allowing us to stay in your very special place!
Patrick was very easy and enjoyable to deal with. He goes out of the way to make all aspects of the exchange as simple and trouble-free as possible. His attention to detail and simplification is very much appreciated.
The real-world space is as depicted in the photos. What you can't tell in the photos is the fresh air and feeling of space from the loft design and open windows.
The neighborhood is as nice as I've ever known in Portland. Park outside, all the shops and food you can imagine. Easy walking and pleasant biking.
Patrick's apartment was great! Wonderful location in the Pearl neighborhood, walking distance to plenty of coffee shops and cafés. Parking was easy and the apartment had everything we might need, and then some. Pat checked in with us on email after our arrival to make sure everything was satisfactory. Even though he was in Berlin, I felt comfortable that he was available in case any problems came up. There were two large umbrellas that came in handy several times during our stay. :) Highly recommend his place!
This was my first experience using Airbnb. I was originally nervous about it, but Patrick was extremely easy to work with and made the experience enjoyable.
The apartment is just as depicted in the pictures. It was clean and comfortable.
The location was great for exploring the Pearl, Downtown, and the rest of the city. In addition, it's close to many of the streetcar lines, Max lines, and Union Station. For beer lovers, the Deschutes Brew Pub and Bailey's Taproom are within a few blocks. For coffee lovers, Stumptown Coffee Roasters and Nuvrei Cafe are just a few minutes away. If you need groceries, World Foods is just a block over. Further, there are great restaurants through out the Pearl, and there are dozens of food carts a few blocks south of the apartment.
I would highly recommend anyone to stay at Patrick's, and I would gladly stay there on my next trip to Portland.
If all Airbnb apartments were created equal, then Patrick's apartment would be the norm. But they aren't, so Patrick's is still the best. This was our second time staying here in Portland, because, why would we stay anywhere else? This apartment allows us to have it all--a great location for a reasonable price. We thought it would be tinged with the nostalgia of our first visit, but the truth was that it was just as good as we remembered it. The pictures did not do it justice, and Patrick's housekeeper did a wonderful job of keeping the apartment spotless. Check-in and check-out were straightforward, and Patrick was extremely communicative during the entire process. The ipad videos about various aspects of the apartment were especially helpful.
The ease and simplicity of the stay allowed us to relax and do the fun things you are supposed to do in Portland, like browsing Powell's Books, having a late dinner at Via Tribunali, and standing in line for Voodoo Doughnuts. The Pearl District is a great home-base for adventures, such as joining walking and Segway tours, visiting the Japanese Gardens and Pittock Mansion, and taking day trips to wine country, the Columbia Gorge, and Cannon Beach. Best of all is the plethora of exquisite restaurants within a ten minute walk of the apartment, making choosing a dinner locale one of the hardest decisions you'll ever have to face.
Thank you to Patrick for making our visit to PDX a complete success once again. We look forward to returning soon for yet another wonderful vacation.
This was my first AirBNB experience, and Patrick made it better than I ever expected. He really did think of everything. He even had laminated copies of instruction manuals for the appliances around the apartment, and demo videos on the iPad for how to run the espresso machine, washer/dryer, and for where to take out the garbage. I could not have asked for a kinder, friendlier host. Highly recommended! Plus, let's not forget the fact that the apartment is incredible.
