Further Details:

This studio forms the entire ground floor of a home in Wimbledon Village. As such, though access is through the front door of the main house, the studio is an entire flat, being an otherwise discrete and self-sufficient living space with a lock on its entrance door.

Furnishings are a tasteful and comfortable mix of French regency and modern Southeast Asian. The terraced garden space includes table and chairs, as well as a built-in brick barbecue for pleasant summer evenings outdoors.

Situated on Wimbledon's Church Road, the studioflat is 15 minutes walk from Wimbledon train station, 17 minutes walk from Wimbledon Park, and 20 minutes direct walk from Southfields. It is directly on the 493 bus route. As such it is well served by public transport, and Black cabs from the stations cost within the region of £4-5.

A small supermarket, Tesco Express, is available 5 minutes away in the village, along with most major banks, whilst large supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Marks & Spencer) are 15-20 minutes walk towards Wimbledon town centre. Excellent cafés, restaurants and designer shops abound in the Wimbledon area, and High Tea at the Cannizaro House Hotel on the common can make for a special occasion!

The residents have occupied the house for well over 15 years, and can provide excellent advice for exploring London, particularly on the food front. Please feel free to get in touch should you be interested. Many thanks for looking.

A home away from home. The flat is so zen. You walk into this bright, restful gem opening into a private garden. Tastefully and warmly decorated. Fully equipped kitchen. Accurately described and more. Close nice walk around the area. And yes the AELTC is right at the corner ;-) Zain was so gracious and made you feel at home right away. She was always there for any questions or help needed. She provided us with croissants, jam, butter, milk, eggs, several bottles of drinks including a bottle of wine. That's more than a starter :-) We hope to come back!

Dear Maricelle & Evelyn, Thank you so much for your kind words! I am so sorry I have been too late in adding a public review for you, due to some problems I've been dealing with work wise. It is all now resolved. However, I must say you were excellent guests and it was a pleasure having you both here. I would love to see you again, with or without tennis! You have yet to visit the Buddhist temple and see a bit more of London. Best wishes, Zain

Zain was the hostess for my husband's and my stay in Wimbledon, London. She was warm and welcoming, an interesting and accomplished person. Our portion of her house was downstairs, self contained, with a kitchen, large living area, and private garden and patio. The location was within a short walking distance to Wimbledon Tennis Center or to Wimbledon village via a beautiful flowering garden path. Trains to central London were a short bus ride away. We highly recommend Alastair's place.

I couldn't have dreamt of a better flat! It's so beautifully decorated and spacious, with every amenity of a fine hotel and all the comforts of home. If you're in town for Wimbledon, this is perfect place to stay, as it's only a few minutes walk to the All England Tennis Club. I thoroughly enjoyed me time here and look forward to returning next year!

As a promise of keeping this flat in mind during trips to London - one more time we stayed at Zain's astonishing place. It's absolutely gorgeous, and Zain is by far one of the best hosts we have ever met. We will definitely recommend this property to anyone.

Zain, the hostess, redefined the meaning of hospitality. She warmly greeted me when I was late from my flight, introduced me to the apartment and made sure it had everything a tired traveller might need. She was always there when I had questions or some problems. I have stayed in this apartment for two weeks and can clearly say, that this was one of the calmest two weeks of all my Airbnb experience. The surroundings are very scenic and the flat is easily accessible by public transport. No sound of ambulances or noisy neighbors - just silence. The apartment had all items you will ever need, from a corkscrew and an iron - to a washer machine and a BBQ grill. Every item in the apartment looked clean and brand new. Next time I’ll be planning a visit to London, I will keep this apartment in mind. My thanks to the host for this two weeks.

I work as a field botanist - when I'm not climbing mountains in equatorial Asia, I'm usually sat at a desk editing scientific manuscripts for publication. I hail from Malaysia, but lived in the UK for nearly two decades before moving to beautiful Melbourne to experience life down-under.

Food is my number one interest in life outside of plants and people, but I'm an avid hiker, scuba diver and explorer. Lately, I've picked up a ukulele, and despite not having a musical bone in my body, am thoroughly enjoying the new musical adventure it's taking me on.

My partner and I are both homeowners and houseproud; as such, we make for considerate and respectful guests. We both enjoy good conversation and conviviality, but by the same token, we're pretty astute at reading between the lines and know when to keep to ourselves! We're both accustomed to roughing it (no running water, river frogs for food), given my line of work, but enjoy home comforts as much as the next person!
