This studio forms the entire ground floor of a home in Wimbledon Village. As such, though access is through the front door of the main house, the studio is an entire flat, being an otherwise discrete and self-sufficient living space with a lock on its entrance door.
Furnishings are a tasteful and comfortable mix of French regency and modern Southeast Asian. The terraced garden space includes table and chairs, as well as a built-in brick barbecue for pleasant summer evenings outdoors.
Situated on Wimbledon's Church Road, the studioflat is 15 minutes walk from Wimbledon train station, 17 minutes walk from Wimbledon Park, and 20 minutes direct walk from Southfields. It is directly on the 493 bus route. As such it is well served by public transport, and Black cabs from the stations cost within the region of £4-5.
A small supermarket, Tesco Express, is available 5 minutes away in the village, along with most major banks, whilst large supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Marks & Spencer) are 15-20 minutes walk towards Wimbledon town centre. Excellent cafés, restaurants and designer shops abound in the Wimbledon area, and High Tea at the Cannizaro House Hotel on the common can make for a special occasion!
The residents have occupied the house for well over 15 years, and can provide excellent advice for exploring London, particularly on the food front. Please feel free to get in touch should you be interested. Many thanks for looking.
Guests are simply requested to leave the property in the condition that they found it; this residential area is quiet, friendly and generally pleasant - all in all a relaxing place to be. The studio is part of a private home, and it is hoped that guests will be sensible of that fact at either end of the day.
Smoking and pets are not permitted.
The living area includes a two seater sofa, an antique elephant chair and an LED television. Modern and traditional southeast Asian furniture combine to create a comfortable space in which to unwind.
Despite a flight delay in the evening, Zain (Alistair's mother) was waiting patiently & had the fridge stocked with milk, butter & a cool bottle of 2000 Chablis, as well as fruit, jam & croissants for breakfast. And what a gem this tastefully decorated garden studio is, opening to a lovely little garden, all to yourself. Probably the best bed I ever slept in, apart from home ))) The location is perfect with a bus stop literally outside the front door, reaching Wimbledon Station within 5 Min. or Wimbledon Village by foot in 10 Min., or Centre Court in 5 Min.
Nearby Wimbledon Village offers all the shops & restaurants you need during your stay. And the District Line takes you to Victoria in about 25 Min. All in all a very recommendable experience and a great host! Perfect description in the ad...
This was my first time using Airbnb and it was fantastic. Everything about the experience was great. The location and type of accommodation was exactly what i wanted. The flat was very nicely decorated and very comfortable. My hosts were extremely gracious and helpful. I look forward to my next Airbnb experience.
Very nice neighbourhood, next to Wimbledon Village, 15 min by foot from the centre.
The place had everything I needed. The decorations are very nice.
There was even some fruits, viennoiseries for breakfast and food in the fridge for guests!
Thank you very much for everything!
The studio was very comfortable with a bus service to the nearest tube station.
lovely having breakfasts items already bought.
I enjoyed the pool also a real treat.
Our host was welcoming & very accommodating with the timing of arrival & departure. It was perfect for 2 people with a lovely breakfast waiting for us. The flat is very well equipped with everything you might need.
It was perfect for our visit to Wimbledon to play in the U14 Road to Wimbledon competition. We were able to take a relaxing walk down to the courts each morning.
I'd certainly recommend this beautiful flat for a visit to the Wimbledon area, close to both the courts & the village.
Thank you. Ruth
Lovely flat in a lovely part of Wimbledon. Host was great, and made us feel really welcome. Breakfast items provided were a nice touch, and we were able to do some light cooking in the mini kitchen. Garden was great in the summer.
I could not have been happier with the accommodation, position or host.
Many thanks to Zain.

About the Host, Alastair
I work as a field botanist - when I'm not climbing mountains in equatorial Asia, I'm usually sat at a desk editing scientific manuscripts for publication. I hail from Malaysia, but lived in the UK for nearly two decades before moving to beautiful Melbourne to experience life down-under.
Food is my number one interest in life outside of plants and people, but I'm an avid hiker, scuba diver and explorer. Lately, I've picked up a ukulele, and despite not having a musical bone in my body, am thoroughly enjoying the new musical adventure it's taking me on.
My partner and I are both homeowners and houseproud; as such, we make for considerate and respectful guests. We both enjoy good conversation and conviviality, but by the same token, we're pretty astute at reading between the lines and know when to keep to ourselves! We're both accustomed to roughing it (no running water, river frogs for food), given my line of work, but enjoy home comforts as much as the next person!
