Private one bedroom (converted from a two-bedroom) on the 4th floor of an apartment on in lower Manhattan.
Location: At the northwestern edge of Chinatown and eastern edge of Little Italy: 3 blocks from Broadway and Soho, 2 blocks from Nolita. 5 minutes walking from the lower east side. 10 minutes from the west village, and so on... you can walk to any neighborhood in lower Manhattan within 20-25 minutes. If you like, there is an extra bicycle for you to use too.
The closest subway is the D train, which is three blocks away. There is also the 6 train, 3.5 blocks away, the NRQ trains that are 4 blocks away basically everything Manhattan train is easily walkable from here. This apartment is arguably the most central location in Manhattan.
There are two bedrooms. One with a twin size and one with a queen size bed. The apartment sleeps three very comfortably in real beds. 4 is the absolute maximum -- and it means that one person must sleep on a couch/blow-up mattress/or roll-out bed (I have all three).
One air conditioner in each bedroom. Together they keep the whole apartment cool.
The apartment is fully furnished and comes with clean linens. Full kitchen. Wireless internet. Laundromat one block away. Large grocery across the street, convenience store immediately downstairs. There are so many restaurants nearby that I don't have time in the world to visit them. Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian, Malaysian, American Pub, Italian coffee shop, American coffee shop, all within a block.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a hotel, nor is it an apartment which is rented full time. This is my own apartment, filled with personal items. If you are looking for a standardized experience and need hotel-level cleanliness please book elsewhere!
Thank you for looking.
Greta's apartment was in a fantastic location in the heart of Chinatown and close to several subway stations. She was easy to get in touch with.
I can only express my appreciation to Greta for renting out her apartment. Clean, cosy and really good location.
Greta was a great host! The apartment was tiny but perfect for two and had everything we needed. The location is great, on the corner from little italy, china town and soho. With the subway, only 2 blocks away, it was 15 min to times square.
Really close to the subway station in China town, close to everything actually! Great location, the 2 rooms are divided by a very thin wall so earplugs are a good idea if you room mate snores
My friends and I had a great stay at Greta's! It is located right at the edge of Chinatown as it meets Little Italy/Soho, and so you have excellent access to both. The apartment was very clean and well organized, and Greta is a great hostess. Her communication/ response time is was great, and she was very helpful providing good info about the surrounding neighborhood and it's conveniences. I Highly recommend her ;)
Lovely apartment, great stay, good area and lots of help & advice from Greta before the trip, although we didn't get to meet her in the city.

Chinatown/LES denizen for the last 4 years. Its my favorite place to live in New York. I share this 2-bedroom apartment with my boyfriend part time, and have put a lot of design work into it over the years. When I'm in town I'm working in architecture, blogging, and messing around at my art studio in Brooklyn. When I'm out of town I'm thrilled to share the whole apartment with travelers. And I love finding great airbnbs in other cities.
