About This Listing
Located in the heart of Sonoma county wine country in the quaint town of Geyserville, a gateway to scenic Alexander Valley, the Cabernet Cabin is your perfect getaway! The cabin is on a secluded part of a ten acre spiritual retreat dedicated to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Isis. It has one and a half bedrooms, a spacious beamed ceiling living room (with a gas fireplace), free wi-fi internet, private hot tub, and a kitchen. Note: requests for bringing pets to the Cabin must be made prior to booking. As guests on the property, you would have access to the pool/hot tub and sauna onsite. Additionally, you could view all the exotic cats and birds at our zoological sanctuary and partake of the events (films/plays/concerts) in our Egyptian temple themed redwood theater. 'Mummy's Kitchen' on our beautiful garden pavilion is often available for dining out and there are fine dining options within walking distance from The Cabernet Cabin e.g. 'Catelli's Italian Restaurant', 'Diavola Pizzeria.' Additionally, there is 'The Geyserville Mud' coffee and pastry shop, which is a popular spot, and 'The Hoffman House Restaurant' on the north end of town, which is a terrific spot for breakfast. We are close to many renowned wineries (Francis Ford Coppola, Trentadue, Trione, Geyser Peak, Clos Du Bois etc.), which offer wine tasting, and the Russian River is within a short walking distance for kayaking/canoeing. Lake Sonoma is about 6 miles away, and is a popular spot for boating and hiking. River Rock Casino is a little over 4 miles away. Please come and visit the beautiful...Cabernet Cabin!
. My partner and I felt welcome from the very first moment we arrived at the Isis Retreat. The entire staff was welcoming. And what a fascinating place! We really enjoyed the tour of the ocelots, and other exotic cats and birds housed on the place. Also, there was a fascinating array of other travelers staying on the property as well.
The cottage was exactly as described. It felt very cozy and was spotless when we arrived. The Retreat is close to many wineries and only 6 miles from Healdsburg where there is lots of shopping, restaurants and charming town square.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Isis Oasis. The peaceful atmosphere, plants and animals, and spiritual touches of the property lent themselves to a reflective, meaningful experience. Our accommodations themselves were also lovely; we especially enjoyed the hot tub. I remarked several times that if I had the money, I would want to buy a cabin just like it :)
Everyone at Isis Oasis was extremely friendly and helpful. DeTraci gave us a lengthy tour of the animal enclosures, and we loved learning more and getting a chance to interact with these well-cared-for creatures. It was so obvious that everyone who works at Isis Oasis loves to work there, loves the mission, and wants to share their community with others.
The cabin is a lovely little retreat from the world. Big, comfortable bed, lovely shower with a view of greenery, and a living room with big windows to enjoy the trees and bamboo outside. Just a five minute walk from quaint Geyserville (which has two great restaurants, a coffee shop, and at least a few winery tasting rooms!). The grounds, which are a community to honor the goddess Isis, have llamas, peacocks, a temple, and gardens to spare. Great weekend!
The Cabin, on the Isis Oasis property was perfect. We stayed over new year's and it was a great getaway. The large cats and amazing bird aviary was very cool. The bed was supper comfortable and the hot tub was a great bonus. Thanks Miguel!

About the Host, DeTraci
I'm the director of the Isis Oasis Sanctuary, a beautiful and magical retreat center and lodge in the heart of the Alexander Valley wine country in Sonoma County.I worked very closely with Loreon Vigne, who owned the Retreat Center for 35 years, and who unfortunately recently passed away. She was a San Franciscan where she created a line of giftware and jewelry and came to the country to retire in 1978 on a 10 acre plot of land in beautiful Alexander Valley. She spent this time creating art and beauty on her property which has a number of interesting buildings of historic significance including a 600 year old heritage tree. She dedicated the land to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Isis, otherwise known as Mother Earth. Instead of retiring, she used her time making her property a living art project. We are a non-profit organization housing exotic cats and birds of many species including a vivarium of interesting insects and small reptiles. There is also an art gallery for her artwork on the property as well as a gift bazaar offering ancient Egyptian altar pieces. There is a permaculture garden and labyrinth on the property to enjoy. We have a pool and spa, Isis meditation temple and a redwood walled theater where concerts/plays/films are showcased, plus some cob structures built of local earth. Please come and visit us at our unique peaceful sanctuary...I look forward to meeting you.
