About this listing
This charming and spacious apartment 5min walk from Montmartre and Gare du Nord on a quiet street in the hip area of the 9eme. With three rooms it can accommodate 6 people. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen and corner bath.
This charming apartment lies just 5 minutes walk from the Gare du Nord, Sacre Coeur and Pigalle. It’s located on a quiet street in the trendy and chic 9th arrondissement. Avenue Trudaine and Rue des Martyrs are on the doorstep, with their collection of lively, local restaurants, bars and cafes, gorgeous boutiques, vintage shops and independent food shops from heaven
(Rose Bakery, Hotel Amour, Corso, Le Carmen, KB Cafeshop, Le Pantruche). We’ve compiled a list of our favourite local hangouts to help you make the most of your stay in this delightful neighbourhood.
The apartment is full of life and colour. With high ceilings, original coving, fireplaces, wooden floors and stylish decor you’ll hopefully feel as cosy and Parisian as it makes us feel. It’s clean and very comfortable, yet it’s a LIVED-IN apartment with it’s own quirks and uniqueness (including a few scuffs and scratches it's picked up over the years, and a few walls could do with a lick of paint where it's peeling a bit, which we'll get round to soon!), many books, jars, clothes and photos. It’s principally our home, which we love, and want to share with you. But if you're looking for pristine, hotel-like apartment, then this may not be the best option for you.
It’s in a very nice, well-kept and safe building, with 2 separate digital entrance doors and a leafy courtyard (with cats).
The apartment is on the 4th floor of a typical 19th century Parisian building - unfortunately there’s no evevator!.
The main bedroom has a double bed, fireplace, and desk space. The living room has a double sofa bed. The study bedroom has a double sofa bed, desk space and fireplace.
They all have double glass windows overlooking the courtyard with flower window boxes (and occasionally little birds). They are light, spacious and full of character.
The sunny en-suite bathroom has a big corner bathtub, a powerful shower, washing machine and hairdryer. We provide clean bed sheets and clean towels.
You can cook at home with a fully equipped kitchen (oven, 6 gas hobs, kettle, toaster, presse-agrume, table & chairs for 6).
We have powerful wifi internet. No tv (we hope you won’t have time for tele!). Phone access with free landline calls to Europe.
We ask that the apartment is left as you found it. Clean, and loved.

No smoking, and we'd like you to leave the flat reasonably tidy, wash up and take out the trash. Also we have some photography equipment in the flat, and we'd prefer that younger children were kept away from anything delicate. But otherwise make yourselves at home!
Laura's place was great! Yes, it is up four flights of stairs, but it is worth every step. The location is within a five to ten minute walk to a couple of different metro stations. And, even better, is that it is within walking distance to the Basilica de Sacre-Couer and an amazing view of the city! The house felt just like home with some books, magazines, lots of big towels, plenty of bedding and kitchenware. Everything worked just as she said and there written instructions and helpful hints just in case. Paris, and especially Laura's place, were fantastic!
A friend and I stayed in Laura's apartment for 4.5 months from January-May 2015. We were studying a semester abroad in Paris and couldn't have been happier to find Laura's apartment.
The apartment feels very lived-in and we instantly felt like we were at home. Laura's apartment is extremely well-equipped with things both big and small, whether it's the herbs and spices in the kitchen, the books on the bookshelves or the photos and posters on the walls, this place looks and feels like a home. This homey-ness also meant the apartment was a bit cluttered, but on the whole this was a pro and not a con.
The photos are very accurate, though some furniture is slightly different or has been rearranged since the photos were taken. The apartment is also very functional, with good heating, a kitchen with everything you need and a washing machine and clothesline in the bathroom.
We also loved the area around Laura's apartment. The Sacre Coeur is only a five minute walk away and you're right near the hustle and bustle of Montmartre but the street of the apartment itself is quiet. As a young woman I avoided walking through the Montmartre area alone at night, but Laura's street is calm and the walk from the metro never felt unsafe.
For seeing the rest of Paris, Laura's apartment is just a few minutes walk from multiple metro stations. The metro Barbes Rochechouart is great as it is on line 2, which runs east-west across Paris, and line 4, which runs north-south. You can easily get to places like the Canal Saint Martin, the Arc de Triomphe and the Quartier Latin (the university district, Shakespeare & Co and Saint Michel fountain), and having Gare du Nord so close by made getting to and from the airport and the Eurostar very easy.
Any issues with the apartment were minor, such as the floorboards in the bathroom being warped from moisture and humidity or the cord for one of the blinds being broken. These issues were very small, and I'm mostly just including them so that this review appears more well-rounded and honest!
This is a beautiful apartment and it really made our experience in Paris what it was.
We stayed 3 days with our family of 5 in Laura's apartment. The apartment has a cosy and artistic atmosphere which we really liked. You are living in a typical parisien street, really nice and not touristic.
bakery and grocery at the end of the street etc. Beds were good. The apartment is a bit full, but sufficient space for even 6 people.
It is close to the metro and Montmartre, really handy. Parking is possible nearby at the Anvers metro, not cheap though. As we arrived late, we met Laura only at the end of our stay. She is really friendly and kind. So: I would recommend!
My family and I stayed three nights at Laura's place and for a part of us, it was the first time in Paris! I think we couldn't have been more lucky with the place and the whole trip! The apartment was very clean, cozy and in a beautiful area. Right after leaving the car and heading to the apt we saw the Sacré Coeur ;) Although we didn't meet up with Laura we felt very invited to stay in her place. We loved it, thank you very much, Laura!
We had an amazing stay in Laura's place. When we entered the apartment, our first impression was that we were very welcome. The atmosphere felt good, but also everything we needed was there. Also, we found it just as described in the advertisement and by previous guests. Yes, it is lived in, but that makes it feel like a home away from home. The location of the apartment is central in the area, and close to Metro lines and parking garages, a convenient supermarket and an amazing bakery. Communicating with Laura was easy because of the WiFi in her place and she was very accommodating. Thank you Laura for adding to our great weekend in Paris!
Location is great (near the Pigale square and Sacre Coeur).
There is 3-4 minutes to the metro station, by walk.
Everything was excellent. We recommend this apartment.
Bon Voyage !!! :)
