1. PEACE & QUIET. The house is on a quiet, dead-end street. Neighbors who live on the forested Inverness Ridge tend to value the peace and quiet of nature. So an important guideline for guests at the house is that your group not be too noisy. Neighbors enjoy the still of the night, the hooting of the owls, the rustling of the trees. Keeping good relations with them is crucial for me to be able to offer this house to guests. So I ask guests to not be rowdy, especially outdoors, especially at night. Normal social conversation and laughter is fine, of course. But if your group is apt to want to let loose and party, I ask you to choose another venue.

2. FIRE SAFETY. There is absolutely no smoking anywhere on the property, indoors or out. No fires are allowed anywhere except in the living room fireplace. Particularly during the dry season (late summer & fall) I ask guests to be super vigilant about fire safety.

3. DAMAGE, WEAR AND TEAR. Please treat the house gently, as if it were your own. Please let me know if anything has broken or isn't working. If it is normal wear and tear, of course I will take responsibility to right things. But if your group has caused damage beyond normal wear and tear, I'd appreciate your telling me about it, and taking financial responsibility for it when I get it fixed.

Gordon's house is a magical place, it feels like a tree house. There is plenty of room and it would be especially fun to bring a gaggle of kids to stay in the loft. There is no TV, but that turned out to be a great thing as we played board games for the first time in years and had a blast. Comfortable, beautiful and unique!

We had a great visit! The home is on a very private road and is nestled among beautiful trees. The kitchen was more stocked with supplies (good knives, bowls, pots and pans etc) than most other places I have rented. The view was so relaxing and we greatly enjoyed hanging out on the deck with morning coffee and late afternoon cocktails! Internet worked great as well. Location is in the heart of wilderness which was awesome- really felt like we were far away from the world even though it did not take too long to get there! Only downside was having to wash and dry all the linens before leaving- dryer is slow so took quite a while in the morning and had to start very early- perhaps a solution would be an option to pay a little more for a linen cleaning option but besides that it was a fantastic stay- thanks Gordon!

Gordon's cabin is beautiful, and we had a wonderful stay there (4 adults and 3 kids). The kitchen is well equipped with all that you might need for a short stay. The kids loved the hot tub. It takes an hour to warm up, but once it gets going, it's wonderful. There is a loft upstairs which was ideal for the three kids to sleep in. We would love to visit again.

Great location for all Point Reyes Seashore activities! Beautifully secluded and quiet for privacy and a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Two rooms are downstairs and there's a loft upstairs. Kitchen/living room area is on the main floor.

The Inverness house has the perfect deck for relaxing and enjoying coffee or wine. The bedrooms with their blackout curtains are silent and dark--some of the best sleep in away from my own bed I've had, even if the beds are a bit creaky. We enjoyed a fire one night when the coastal air turned cool, and loved sitting around playing games in the living room. A great location near to food and adventure.

I have loved the Point Reyes National Seashore for decades, and in 2007 finished building a place in the forest where friends and family can retreat from the stresses of civilization and be in nature, with hikes, beaches & bays to explore, and a hot tub to come back to. I enjoy sharing this home with people who appreciate nature and are seeking rejuvenation.
