The Space

We have a lovely studio apartment in a great neighborhood just between the Univ. of San Francisco and 2 blocks from the Panhandle. Walking distance to the beginning of Golden Gate Park, the Haight Ashbury district, Alamo Square and the great Divisadero corridor. Great location, access to public transit is excellent, fantastic restaurants and cafes, museums and all San Francisco has to offer. The apartment is a small studio, perfect for two, with a small full separate kitchen with gas stove and small full bathroom in a small building. Hardwood floors, high ceilings, tile floor bathroom, double bed, TV and basic cable, great stereo system, DVD player, and fully furnished. Clean, good light, beautiful back garden view and close to everything in the central part of the city. Street parking is 2 hrs. until 6pm, high speed internet in the apartment, and many fantastic cafes are in walking distance. There is no washer and dryer on premises. I'm available for advice/recommendations and want guests to be comfortable and clued into what the city is all about. I'm an SF native, and love my city. So should you!

You can expect a clean space, the apartment is cleaned after each stay. The apartment and building is quiet and private. Easy access to all the culture and beauty of San Francisco. Put your bags down and head out to the Mission district, Downtown, the Haight, Golden Gate Park etc.

The neighborhood is residential, very safe, close to everything, and charming. Anything you could need is in walking distance: restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, laundry etc. Laundry mats on both Hayes and Fulton, as well as dry cleaners. Everything within a block or two at the most. Street parking is two hour parking till 6pm, then parking is ample in the neighborhood.

Bus lines, laundry mat, shopping and more are within a block of the apartment on Hayes and Fulton Street. Grocery shopping is ample: Whole Foods on Haight and Stanyan, or other grocery stores on Masonic and Fulton. Plenty of small bodegas etc.

The 5 Fulton, 21 Hayes and other major bus lines are within a block or less of the apartment.

San Francisco is a world class food city. Check out NOPA on Hayes and Divisadero, Serpentine, Slow Club, Flour and Water, Locanda, just to name a few. Not to mention amazing cuisine of all types close by. Ask for other recommendations and I'd be more than happy to give suggestions.

Looking for hiking, biking, walking or strolling? Marin County is just across the Golden Gate (website hidden). Tam has some of the best mountain biking, hiking and road biking in the region. I know it well.

The building is old and the apartment quaint, but it's an excellent place to crash and make home base while you explore the city.

Please familiarize yourselves with the check in and check out times in the house rules section. I live in Marin and commute into the city to handle the apartment. I work nights as well, so please coordinate your timing for check in with me well in advance. I'm flexible.

Interaction with Guests

As much or as little as desired. I like to meet the guests but doesn't always accure due to late check in.

The Neighborhood

Awesome neighborhood. Safe, quiet, close to other neighborhoods with lots going on. Parking is 2 hours from 9am to 6pm and otherwise is not difficult in the adjacent neighborhoods.

Getting around

Public transit is very close. Either Fulton Street or Hayes street is 1-2 blocks away. The 5 Fulton and the 21 Hayes are major bus lines.

  • Had a wonderful time in SF, Scott's apartment is right by the Golden Gate Park (great for morning jogs) and access to the city centre is quick & easy by bus. Scott was excellent about communicating - his place offers a cool spot for everyone who's keen to explore San Franciso. Thanks again for the great time!

  • We met Scott briefly when we checked-in and he was very accommodating. The apartment was great and was very clean. The neighbourhood was safe and charming. It was easy to get to/from downtown by public transport but a long walk. Would definitely stay here in the future if we do go back to San Fran.

  • Scott's place was great. Everything was just as listed. We were walking distance from a couple of great parks and the Japanese Tea Garden. Also walking distance from Divisidero St where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. From Divisidero we could catch a couple of busses to the Golden Gate Bridge, the Wharfs, and China Town. We were only there for 2 days and felt that Scott's place was the perfect hub. Quaint and small it was the perfect size for us (a couple) water pressure was great and Scott left plenty of towels and everything else we would need that you don't normally pack for a trip. Also, Scott was really good at communicating back with us whenever we had a question.

  • We spent two weeks in Scott apartment and everything was perfect. We even found some beers in the fridge! The apartment is very good, in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. We would certainly would like to be here when we return to SF.

  • We really liked the location of the apartment. The neigborhood is quiet and safe. You can experience a lot by walking and a bus stop is just arround the corner, as well as a grocery store and some restaurants and cafes.
The apartment itself is in a old building with old furniture. Some will like it, some will not. It is cleaned but not super clean itself. But it's appropriate to the inexpensive price you pay. The kitchen provides everything you need to make you breakfast or a meal. The shower is hot and has good water pressure.
We didn't meet Scott but he always respondet quickly to our emails. Check-in and check-out were easy. Scott was very accommodating.

  • The apartment was great and as advertised. The neighborhood and building itself are both super queit. Hassle free check-in and check-out. Very close to Golden Gate Park, Haight-Ashbury, Inner Sunset and easy to get to the areas downtown or Mission by bus. I'm not sure if it is always like this, but the windows are only covered by sheer curtains, so if you don't like the light filtering in when you sleep, bring a sleep mask. I didn't meet Scott, but he remained in contact to ensure we got in, had everything we needed and got out ok. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

  • We had a great time at this apartment. Scott responded quickly and gave us easy to follow instructions. The apartment is in a great location and the building was quiet. So close to the park for biking and running. We really enjoyed staying there.
