About This Listing
The apartment is a wonderful place to set your bags down and reach out into the city. It is well located in the most central part of San Francisco, and has easy access to public transport to get to other parts of the city. It's an amazing area.
We have a lovely studio apartment in a great neighborhood just between the Univ. of San Francisco and 2 blocks from the Panhandle. Walking distance to the beginning of Golden Gate Park, the Haight Ashbury district, Alamo Square and the great Divisadero corridor. Great location, access to public transit is excellent, fantastic restaurants and cafes, museums and all San Francisco has to offer. The apartment is a SMALL studio, perfect for two, with a small full separate kitchen with gas stove and small full bathroom in a small building. Hardwood floors, high ceilings, tile floor bathroom, full bed, TV and basic cable, great stereo system, DVD player, and fully furnished. Clean, good light, beautiful back garden view and close to everything in the central part of the city. Street parking is 2 hrs. until 6pm, high speed internet in the apartment, and many fantastic cafes are in walking distance. There is no washer and dryer on premises. I'm available for advice/recommendations and want guests to be comfortable and clued into what the city is all about. I'm a SF native, and love my city. So should you!
You can expect a clean space, the apartment is cleaned after each stay. The apartment and building is quiet and private. Easy access to all the culture and beauty of San Francisco. Put your bags down and head out to the Mission district, Downtown, the Haight, Golden Gate Park etc.
The neighborhood is residential, very safe, close to everything, and charming. Anything you could need is in walking distance: restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, laundry etc. Laundry mats on both Hayes and Fulton, as well as dry cleaners. Everything within a block or two at the most. Street parking is two hour parking between 9am and 6pm, then parking is ample in the neighborhood.
Bus lines, laundry mat, shopping and more are within a block of the apartment on Hayes and Fulton Street. Grocery shopping is ample: Whole Foods on Haight and Stanyan, or other grocery stores on Masonic and Fulton. Plenty of small bodegas etc.
The 5 Fulton, 21 Hayes and other major bus lines are within a block or less of the apartment.
San Francisco is a world class food city. Check out NOPA on Hayes and Divisadero, Serpentine, Slow Club, Flour and Water, Locanda, just to name a few. Not to mention amazing cuisine of all types close by. Ask for other recommendations and I'd be more than happy to give suggestions.
Looking for hiking, biking, walking or strolling? Marin County is just across the Golden Gate (website hidden). Tam has some of the best mountain biking, hiking and road biking in the region. I know it well.
The building is old and the apartment quaint, but it's an excellent place to crash and make home base while you explore the city. It is not a modern apartment but a great place to drop your bags and head out.
Please familiarize yourselves with the check in and check out times in the house rules section. I live in Marin and commute into the city to handle the apartment. I work nights as well, so please coordinate your timing for check in and check out with me well in advance. I'm flexible.
Contact me directly to coordinate key pick up.
Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as desired. I like to meet the guests but doesn't always accure due to late check in.
Awesome neighborhood. Safe, quiet, close to other neighborhoods with lots going on. Parking is 2 hours from 9am to 6pm and otherwise is not difficult in the adjacent neighborhoods.
Public transit is very close. Either Fulton Street or Hayes street is 1-2 blocks away. The 5 Fulton and the 21 Hayes are major bus lines.

As of October, 2014 San Francisco has put a new tax on occupancy. It's 14% of the nightly rate. I have to collect this from you and is a part of the nightly rate.
Scott is great at responding quickly to emails, and he gave us detailed directions on how to find the apartment. It perfectly fit the bill for a place for my boyfriend and I to sleep for a couple of nights, and it's located in a quiet neighborhood with a corner store and nice cafe right around the corner.
Nice and cozy appartment for your stay in SF just as described. Its a bit older as shown on the pictures though. We did not meet Scott but he is very responsive and gave good directions. Large grocery and Starbucks just around the corner. Street parking can be difficult. There is a parking lot near the grocery store. We noticed that too late so we did not try it but that can save you time. We loved cycling through SF. Golden Gate park and bike rental is nearby. Thank you Scott we had an good time in SF!
Scott made check in and check out very easy. We were looking for a place to sleep while being out and about doing things, and the location was incredibly convenient for the events we were attending. That's specific to our situation, but the place also has some features with a more general appeal: the street is very quiet (NO noise at night) and is pretty much next door to Golden Gate Park. There isn't a terrific coffee shop or anything like that right around the corner, but Starbucks was a 3 minute walk and if Haight St. is your kind of thing, it's also a very short stroll away. As for the apartment, it's smallish and simple--definitely nothing fancy or elegant--but we found it to be an excellent value. Overall, Scott's place was just what we needed for a very modest price.
Scott gave us great directions and was in touch by email which worked out fine.
The location and neighborhood are great. It's a close walk to Golden Gate Park, USF, and Haight-Ashbury.
The place is small and cozy. But not a problem if you're out and about. The building was surprisingly quiet and the place feels private.
Overall, nice place to stay.
