About this listing
My husband is a high school principal and I am the director of a yoga/wellness company. Our children are grown and gone!
We are 25 minutes from the center of New York City by train, subway or car. We are also within easy reach of the lovely river towns to the north, and about an hours drive to sandy Jones beach.
The nearest subway is 242 street, and the Yonkers or Ludlow railway stations are about 10 minutes away by car or a $10 taxi ride. The train from there gets you into Grand Central in about 25 minutes. There are buses to the stations, but it's easier to get around by car/taxi.
You can also stay home and enjoy our lovely patio and garden. We have internet, wireless, cable TV, laundry facilities.
Our house is airy and peaceful. We can tell you where the best local places are to eat, and there are some lovely walks and parks about 15 minutes away.
What we like best about living here is that we have the best of both worlds - peace, birds chirping and greenery, and all that NYC can offer. A 15 minute drive north gets us to the lovely leafy river towns - Hastings-on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Tarrytown etc.
You can take a picnic to the Rockerfeller estate and enjoy fabulous views of the Hudson....ahhh!
This neighbourhood is called Park Hill. It's hilly, leafy and pretty, with some lovely big historic houses around. It's also safe. Our street is one-way so we don't get much traffic.
The bus stop is a 10-minute walk.
Ludlow and Yonkers railways stations are on the Metro North railroad, about 25 minutes to Grand Central, NYC.
242nd street is the nearest subway.
The house is not suitable for very young children.
We look after our house and our things and keep it clean. We expect you to do the same!
The house was immaculate, very cute and cozy. It looks exactly as it does in the pictures. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. Neem is super nice, we had great communication from the beginning. She left everything we needed and more, even some food and supplies that really saved us from going to the supermarket until we settled in. It was just a great experience and our family can't thank her enough for helping us having an amazing vacation. Thank you Neem!
