About This Listing
Welcome to the room with three beds in a cozy appartement in the heart of Prague.
The private room has a table, sofa for two and a separate bed, so it can host 3 persons. If you are coming with a baby, we profive a baby cot or a small child bed.
This is one of the two appartements and me (Katka) and my best friend (Shaima) use in this building. The first one is private, and this one is for welcoming our guests while partly we are using it for business. This is the reason why it is mostly available on weekends and during vacations only.
The building where the flat is located was built at the beginning of the 20th century in Art Nouveau style, and it is mostly used as residential. Our street is quiet, and the offered room is actually oriented to a small patio, so it is very quiet.
The flat is fully furnished, the room have all amenities including bed sheets, towels and toiletries. There is a washing machine, fridge with a freezer and a microwave oven in the kitchenette. The guests can help themselves to the free coffee and tea.
There is high speed wi-fi connection in the flat.
The flat is 5 minutes by metro to the center, 10 minutes walking to the Prague Castle, 3 minutes to the Royal Garden. Apart from metro, the tram leaves every 5 minutes to the center and to the train station.
In the immediate neighborhood you find a Tesco and DM drugstore, as well as plenty of restaurants and bars.
Our guests will have access to a small kitchenette with a stove and microwave, and a sink. They will also be able to store their food in the fridge. We also offer a printing machine/copymachine and a computer with internet access. We provide maps of Prague, and the written guide is included in the profile of this appartement.
This is a very quiet neighborhood with limited car access to our street. At the same time, it has all the conveniences - plenty of small pantries and veggie/fruit stores, there is a dry-cleaning service, hairdresser, restaurants and bars.
Our neighborhood has a tram and metro connection to the center of the city - metro line A has its station 2 minutes away. There are three trams which will get our guests to the center in max. 10 minutes time. Apart from public transportation, there is also a scenic path for walkers, running along the edge of the hill, down to the city center.
Smoking only outside the appartement. After 10 p.m. it should be kept rather quiet in order not to disturb the others living in the building. The sheets need to be taken off before the check-out and put in the laundry basket.
Please help me recycle and throw the plastics and paper in the bags in the corridor. Make sure you LOCK the entrance door each time you leave the appartement!
Good experience, issues with being given different room to advertised and loud lessons being given in room next door early in the morning, so more communication would have been appreciated . Very accommodating and helpful host and comfortable, pleasant environment.
My girlfriend got sick the day before our trip to Prague, so we unfortunately had to cancel it. We wrote Katka a message which didn't arrive as she said. She contacted us on the day of our planned arrival and asked us where we were, so we explained again that we won't make it and couldn't reach anyone on the phone number she gave us. Since we asked about the money we didn't receive any answer, even after a couple of mails we wrote. That's frustrating since we're both students and just can't afford to pay something we don't use. For me this behaviour is contrary to the idea airbnb represents and I am disappointed of how people are always interested in money instead of an open-minded and understanding co-existence. I hope next time I am using aribnb services it will work out better.
Manuel, first of all, if you are canceling, you need to cancel through the system of Airbnb. There is a way to get the money back, or at least to ask for it. You never did that. I cannot cancel your stay myself without being punished by Airbnb. You have also said that it is not stated clearly what the cancellation fees are, which is not true. They are stated, and ours are STRICT. That means, no money back. We do review each request, however, and we do give back on occassions. Maybe getting to know how Airbnb really works would be a good idea so you dont get into unpleasant situation in the future.
Good location near to metro and tram station. Small room hardly accommodate 2 persons, one of us need to use the mattress on floor which is quite outdated and old. The sofa bed is not comfortable either. No kitchen. Hot water supply with some issues unable to provide stable hot water. Using washing machine costs 100kc for one load, quite expensive. I will not say it's a clean apartment as many people share the space including students of language school. I never had the chance meet Katka and Chima so we contact thru text message. Sometimes it's hard as not get feedback for few days. Anyway, still a valuable choice if you have limited budget.
This room was great. It was a very spacious bedroom with a nice living room. Very clean and tidy. The kitchen comes equipped with a kettle, some plates, mugs, and cutlery, so while you can't cook you can eat in. The neighbourhood is great. It's quiet and there's a number of good neighbourhood pubs around. You're only a minute or two walk from both a metro station and about a half dozen different tram lines. You can also walk to Letna Park and the Hradcany district from here. If you walk a lot it doesn't take more than half an hour to get back from Old Town Square (in case you miss the last metro around midnight, and being five minutes from the presidential palace and in a district with a number of embassies, it is very safe). The apartment is used as an office and a small language school by the host in a separated half of the apartment, so you still get plenty of privacy even when it's in use. I would come back here in a heartbeat.
I really enjoyed stay in Prague. Room was spacious and cosy. We had great time. Location of flat is great. The place is quite pieceful and very close to the metro which was nice. We fell in love with Bruska Restaurant nearby. But we were disappointed because in kitchenette there was no stove or microwave you write of in description.

About the Host, Caravanserai
Dear visitor of my profile,
It has been now for over two years that I have been using Airbnb. As a host, I have to say that this is an amazing way of meeting the most interesting people around the world! As a guest, I got to know some cool places in different countries.
I hope that your experience will be the same.
My last big passion is writing, and I am in several projects to promote travel to my favorite places in the world.
The closest tram stop is right in front of our building. Trams no. 8,20, and 18 will get you down to the center (Malostranská, Staroměstská and Náměstí republiky stops).
The closest place to eat, right at the corner of my street and the main Milady Horákové street. They have good beer, the food is ok. Not much English spoken.
Local steak place nearby.
Great place to eat! They have very good Italian cuisine with great wines, all for very decent prices.
One of the best Sushi places in Prague! Great sushi and soups, they do lunches for about 10 euro. I strongly recommend it!
Great for walks in the summer, or for sitting down and reading. Under the Summer palace, there are some stunning views of the city.
One of the best museums in Prague, it is located withing the complex of the Prague Castle. Do not miss their great soups and cakes in the café downstairs.
At the end of our street Tychonova, a beautiful renaissance 16th century palace which holds expositions from time to time. It has a so-called Singing Fountain just in front of it.
Its withing 10 minutes of walk, one of the prominent landmarks of Prague, check it out at night when the Cathedral is illuminated :-).
The closest supermarket if you need to shop for groceries, and the little Tesco and Vietnamese store in our street is not enough.
