  • Henry is a great host. He picked us up at the airport and drove us to a grocery store at our request. While we were shopping with the help of his girl-friend Margarita (nice person), he unloaded our baggage and brought it up to the apartment on the top floor. Very kind of him!
The condo apartment was well equipped. We were on a budget and my wife had to cook. We had everything we needed, even two 20 litre bottles of water. Having a washer and especially a dryer in such a humid climate was a big bonus. The air conditioner worked well. Wi-Fi was very good, too. We did not use the TV (no time for it). The hot water pressure in the bathroom was OK the first few days but during the last four days of our 11 day stay it disappeared. Not a big deal because cold water was not icy cold!
We used the roof deck a few times to watch the stars and the cityscape. We never used the swimming pool (no time for it) and never saw anyone use it.
It is a two minute walk to the main thoroughfare where there is a small corner store and a small eatery (never used it as it was always closed when we came back). The closest large grocery store Soriana (a chain competing with Walmart etc) is only 10 minute walk away. Route 2 bus stops in front of the corner store if you wave your hand and will take you to the hotel zone (beaches) in twenty minutes for 9.5 pesos per person (taxi will cost from 30 to 50 pesos). Mind you that the same Route 2 bus will not bring you back to the same location. It will turn away near Soriana. You will have to get off there and walk for ten minutes. Taxi is more convenient but the drivers tend to charge you much more when they pick you up in the hotel zone. Also, be prepared for crossing the streets anywhere you want. Pedestrian zebras are non-existent. It is quite a challenge at first!
Staying away from the main tourist zone requires some knowledge of Spanish. I can get by in Spanish and it helped us a lot!
To make a long story short – would we rent this place again from Henry? Yes, because it is priced just right!

  • The apartment was perfect for my needs and Henry and Margarita were excellent hosts.

  • Personally it was such a pleasure to rent from Henry. He and Margarita picked us up from the airport, and took us to buy groceries before we even settled in. Talk about a warm welcome. They were communicative and responsive and addressed all of our concerns quickly and effectively.

The suite is set up to make a great home base for exploring. You can get to the Hotel Zone beaches within about 20 minutes by bus or taxi. And you can easily get to Playa del Carmen or Merida on the ADO bus lines or by renting a car. For the days/hours indoors, the suite has everything you need to be comfortable including all the electronics, wi-fi and even English cable shows you could want. It's within 10 minutes walking distance from a movie theatre, grocery store and outlet shopping mall.

  • Great location for bus to downtown (Walmart or hotel zone). Felt very safe. Bed was comfortable. We subscribed to Mexican Net Flicks to get movies with cables we bought at Walmart. Air conditioning worked fine. Not one problem with our internet access which surprised me. The connection was perfect at all times. We had plenty of room when we had up to 4 people. Fun to see animals (opposum, parrots, bats). There is a park across the street, store for groceries around the corner, several restaurants right in neighborhood. Great deal for the price. Henry is the best ever and will explain things and help you feel at home. I think this is a fine place to stay when you want a more real Mexican experience. It is on the 4th floor, so be ready for some stair climbing. (We are 62 and 67 yrs. old, so if you're younger it will be easy for you). A very special experience for us who have stayed in the hotel zone about eight times. I prefer this real experience. Never used roof deck or pool. Nice to have washer and dryer to use and it worked great. It is just like living in the jungle here and very unique and special. Again, Henry is a wonderful person and we are happy we met him and rented from him.

  • Henry's condo was paradise in paradise. The condo was very quiet even though it was centrally located in Cancun within walking distance to many of the places we wanted to go to-Market 28, Costco. We've stayed many places in Cancun over the years but this is the nicest. The cool breezes coming through the condo on the top floor kept it so nice and listening to the birds in the tree tops (which shade the condo) in the morning was awesome.
It has a roof top sunning area with lounge chairs which we put to good use. A full size refrigerator, stove with oven, washer and dryer, and flat screen television rounded out the special elements that made this stay a 10 in our book.
Having internet allowed us to use our “Netflix” account through our computer and “Magic Jack” to call home and stay in touch.

  • Henry is a super host - very accommodating and really helped us in getting around the area. The condo was clean and the bed comfortable. The pool was out of order so that was a disappointment and the condo is a 15 minute bus ride to the beaches. The apartment is close to shopping and a great Vegan restaurant, Cancun is a very busy city and the peninsula where the beaches are is even more so. If you are looking for a quiet getaway then Cancun may not the place for you. However, if you are looking for great weather and lots of action it may be the place for you.

  • Henry's apartment in Cancun was the perfect place for us to rest up after 6 months of travel. It is in a suburban area of Cancun, which for us was a plus. There's a supermarket and plaza close by, and a delicious pizza restaurant (Le Fate) around the corner. The tourist hotel zone and beach were easily accessible via the R2 bus for 8.5 pesos on Andres Ave and Walmart and the tourist market were within walking distance (20-30 mins). The neighbours were lovely and welcoming and the pool was set in nice gardens with several cats around ! The apartment was spacious, quiet and well presented, with everything required to feel at home. Henry was a great host, who even picked us up from the airport ! I highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a place to call home while on holidays.

  • Beautifull condo in a very nice safe area close to everything you could possibly need, super markets, shopping malls resturants. The works. A very straight forward journey to the beach and zona hotel area 20mins. We used the appartment as a base to visit the yuca tan and quintanroo areas. Recommend to everybody. The host Henry is freindly, helpfull and accomadating, he will help you with any of your needs. Thanks Henry again.

  • Lovely apartment, very close to a great supermarket and next to a park where i had my morning coffee. The apartment is in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. Henry is a great host. I rented a car at the airport for $12 a day (all in!) for the first week. After that I took the public buses that go all over the city. The no 2 bus runs down the main road that is a one-minute walk from the aparrtment. Easy access to downtown, the "Mercado 28" shopping area for good, cheap food and also the beaches on the hotel strip.
