A villa with a stunning, sweeping view of the Sea of Cortez. Just a 10 minute drive from San Jose del Cabo...a safe and cozy Mexican town...and a 2 minute walk from an endless, deserted beach (where you may witness the hatching of turtles, or see a whale out at sea).
The house celebrates the outdoors with many windows and a verandah where meals can be enjoyed, and the house is in a quiet area with no neighbors left and right, although there are the occasional cows or donkeys that wander down the road. If you don't feel like cooking then a minute away is a delightful bar/restaurant where you can dine or sip a margarita with your feet in the sand.
Please consider that: My house is run on solar power, it uses no power from the grid, although it won't be apparent to you. Internet is available at the house. And lastly, all I ask is that you treat mi casa as you would treat yours. Gracias.

I love the whole experience at Casa Diggs! The host, Peter, responded to my inquiries quickly and made sure everything well arranged before my trip. He made me feel so welcomed before I even stepped out of my own house! The view at Casa Diggs was amazing; tranquility and relaxation I got from this place were priceless. Property Manager Judy made sure our stay there was nothing but the best ever experience! The cool ocean breeze, the sounds of crushing waves ; this place is so spacious and full of charm!
Pictures don't do this place justice! I've been coming to Cabo regularly for 11 years, and this place and the area it's in are my new fave place to stay.
The area is only 45 minutes away from downtown Cabo San Lucas, on the edge of incorporated San Jose developments, far enough away from the hustle of San Lucas that it's really quiet and peaceful. The road leading to this area is unfortunately filled with terrible potholes, so renting a Jeep or other SUV with large tires would be a huge plus if you plan to go back and forth between here and San Jose or San Lucas. The awful roads, however, do a great job keeping the rifraff from this area. There are miles and miles of nearly empty beaches to explore, great for swimming and surfing. The peace and quiet are wonderful.
The house itself is a beautiful private hideway, with outstanding views of the ocean. Sunrises can be viewed each morning from the master bedroom, and you can hear the surf as you fall asleep and when you wake. The house is "off the grid", and runs on batteries powered by solar panels and a very powerful propane generator. Water is brought in by truck to a onsite tank, the hot water is very hot, and the stove is propane powered. If you are considerate of your power usage, you won't have to use the generator. However, the generator is required to run the mini-split A/C units; if you are someone who needs A/C, this house probably isn't for you. The fresh air breezes coming off the ocean were enough for us except a few unseasonal humid evenings.
The house has an enormous kitchen/living room common area, an excellent pool and pool deck, and a second bedroom "casita" that would be great for small children but is considerably smaller than the master suite. There is a stereo system with speakers throughout the property, including outside on the pool deck, so we could play tunes throughout the day.
There is a great beach that is 5 minutes walk from the house, along with an excellent bar and grill "Buzzards", that is a popular place for locals to eat and have drinks. Besides that, there is Zak's about 20 minutes east, Flora Farms about 15 minutes back to San Jose, and then all of San Jose within 20 minutes from there. We stopped at the Mega on the way from the airport and picked up all our food and drinks for the house very cheaply.
Judy is the owner's property manager; she lives across the street and met us at the property to give us the tour and teach us how everything worked. She lives in Cabo full-time and is very responsive to anything you need.
Overall, I highly recommend this place and hope to stay again!
I don't think we could have found a more perfect place to spend our vacation. Beautiful home with beautiful views and the sound of the ocean to wake up to in the morning.
Casa Diggs is truly one of a kind! Away from the hubbub of Cabo, high on a hill overlooking the beautiful ocean. We had an amazing weekend watching the sunrise from the bed and the sunset from the pool deck. You are a great host Peter! Your recommendation to drive the north coast was spot on!
Peter's home is a the ultimate vacation escape: stunning views, immaculately clean, the utmost privacy, completely safe, and a 2-minute walk to a very private beach. It's far enough away from town that you feel completely secluded, but an easy enough drive to go in for dinner (which we did each day we stayed). Can't emphasize enough the great vantage point - panoramic ocean views that are just breathtaking. Judy couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating. We fell in love with Cabo, largely due to being able to access Peter's slice of paradise!
Amazing architecturally with views from bedroom angled to view every gorgeous sunrise. Watching whales from hillside vantage was simply a thrill. El Encanto is a bit remote, but if looking for peace and quiet the location is perfect. Best suited for a couple, though smaller casita could be used for 2 kids. Buzzards cafe short walk for food. Other dining/shopping options a bit of a drive. Property manager lives across street and was gracious host.
Beautiful property and an excellent place to relax. Great communication in the run up to our stay outlining the clean up process after hurricane Odile and the progress of the property. Peter and his team worked hard to ensure the place was ready for us which was greatly appreciated.
This property is approximately 20 minted drive from San Jose Del Cabo which is where the nearest shops and restaurants are, so anyone wanting frequent regular access to these should keep this in mind.
Highly recommended to anyone wanting peace and quiet in a beautiful villa
