The apartment is very clean, and is in a beautiful building in what seems to be a rapidly gentrifying neighbourhood of Rome. The nightlife here is vibrant with easily 50 pubs on the surrounding streets, which, along with the streets, are full of young Romans who are happy to stay out well past their bedtimes. Lots of fun to be had for those who like this scene -- we certainly enjoyed it! The main station is approximately 20 minutes walking from the apartment, and there is a tram car stop about 5 minutes away. There is also a grocery store 5 minutes down the street, and an 'alimentari' just across the street. Unfortunately, the apartment had no internet connection, which was a surprise to many who signed the guest book. Having only one set of keys, and a lack of dish cloth or dish washing detergent were mild annoyances. Would likely stay a second time.
Equal positives and negatives...
Very clean and nice apartment in a secure building. The best restaurant we ate at in Rome is a couple blocks away, "Il Fratelli", a must go! The neighborhood is described as "lively", and that's the truth. Bars and restaurants surround the apartment and you can hear everything from about 9pm-4am (we were there over a weekend). There's a good two hours of quiet before the trash trucks start collecting all the glass bottles from the evening, which will jolt you out of your short sleep. Apartment is about a 10-15 minute walk to metro station and was easy to navigate through neighborhoods. Also, if you want to stock your fridge there's a big market about a 10 minute walk away (on the way to the train station, after you walk through the tunnel). Most of the neigborhood stores were not open during the mornings/afternoons. San Lorenzo was an experience. I wish I would have researched my neighborhoods a little more thoroughly prior to booking, but we wouldn't have discovered the most charming and delicious restaurant ever!
Great apartment. Huge, nice amenities, good location. Definitely recommended.
A great apt, spacious, bright, clean and beautifully furnished. 10-15 min walk from the train station. for the ones sensitive to lowed chatter at night - take some earplugs with you, other then that we had a great stay. also, we highly recommend a restaurant in the area called "il Fratelli" on via degli umbri 14/18 not far from the apartment.
enjoy your stay...Moran, Naama and Noa
Great apartment, just like the pictures. Very fresh and clean. The San Lorenzo area is an authentic Rome are with a lot of restaurants and people on the street but not many tourists. Connected to Colosseum with the tram and about 15 minutes walk to termini (not the nicest street to walk on though). The only negative thing was that there is a lot of people out on the streets, especially during the weekends, and it can be a little bit noisy. But it should be said that the windows are good isolated. Everything went good with the host and my family (that visited me) were really happy!
