Hello, thanks for reading this.
Our house is situated in Didsbury, one of Manchester's liveliest areas with lots of busy bars restaurants and cafes within a short walk. The house is very close to excellent 24 hour, high frequency bus services to the city centre, universities and hospitals. Didsbury has now been linked up to the city's tram system. We are 3 minutes walk from the West Didsbury tram stop, which connects with the city centre via Chorlton. Although close to local amenities, the street is quiet and does not suffer from traffic noise.
We have three rooms that are listed on Airbnb. Two are large en-suite rooms and there is a smaller room, which is not en-suite but which has an attractive adjacent bathroom. The other rooms are listed under "Large Room good access city centre" and "Comfortable en-suite room, Didsbury".
The room you are viewing is our smallest room. It is equipped with a small wardrobe and has a UK standard sized double bed and a small table. The bathroom that goes with this room is large and modern and has a bath with a shower over. We do not offer weekly rates on this room as we like to give longer stay guests the additional comfort of the larger en-suite rooms. If you are looking for a stay of one week or more please submit an enquiry for one of the larger rooms and we will offer a favourable weekly (website hidden) is available in the lounge and wireless broadband is also available. A buffet style breakfast is included consisting of home made breads, cereals, fruit and yoghurt but we are happy to provide a traditional cooked breakfast (£4.00 supplement), packed lunches and evening meals by prior arrangment.
You can see from our reviews that many of our guests have enjoyed our evening meals. We like to cook and we have a wide choice of meals that we can offer. All our meals are prepared from good quality fresh ingredients and all our sauces are home made. Ask us what is available if you are interested. Meals can be taken at the breakfast bar or in the dining room.
The house is well located for Manchester Airport, which can be reached by train or bus, and for the universities. Parking is on-street but safe and there is plenty of space.
We need to be advised in advance if guests wish to bring friends into the house.
Smoking is permitted in the garden.
Our kitchen is not available for guests to cook their own food as we prepare food every evening for guests and for ourselves.
Bob and Christine made me feel very welcome and were very friendly hosts. They provided a generous breakfast, which was a good start to the day.
A great find in a very quiet cul -de -sac. Spotless despite a bit of refurbishment work going on.
Very comfy room - lovely cup of tea welcome and nice breakfast. Well done Bob and Christine
We stayed at bob's place for 3 nights. It was a wonderful stay. We were well received by Bob. He offered tea upon our arrival. He told us about the public transportation system as well as all the nice eateries around the area. Bob was a friendly and warm person.
The room was decent for a couple. When we came the room was neat and tidy. The toilet was also clean.
The location was amazing. Very near to West Didsbury tram station. It was very easy to travel to the city from his place too.
Every morning, there would be a wonderful spread of tasty breakfast. We enjoyed ourselves at our stay with Bob and Christine.
We met Christine on our second day. She was a sweet and friendly person. We felt very welcomed at their place. Was as good as home :) will definitely visit them again if we go back to Manchester.
I'm a reguar at this listing & it's great. On street parking, comfy real bed & great breakfast.
The hosts bob and christine were very helpful giving my son instructions on how to find their home with ease from the main station in Manchester.
They also provided him with a great breakfast to set off with and good instructions as to how to get to Manchester Uni for his interview.
My son said the room was very good and the bed comfortable for sleeping. So all in all a very good stay with lovely people.
Bob and Christine were both friendly and helpful. My room was spotless, as was the bathroom. Nothing was too much trouble and breakfast had a great variety- lots to choose from.

I retired early (4 years ago) from a professional role in order to spend more time with my camera. The camera bit didn't really work out as I spend most of my time keeping house and looking after our wonderful guests. Christine works in admin. We live in a largish Edwardian semi. We are a very sociable couple and we enjoy the social life in our community. When she is not out at work Christine is the nice one who makes cakes, bakes bread and makes our guests feel relaxed and welcome. I do most of the meeting and greeting, preparing our guest rooms, fixing breakfasts, researching local information and all the other little bits and pieces that help to make your stay memorable and enjoyable.
We both love cooking (and eating) and we enjoy preparing food for, and dining with, our guests. We try to remove processed foods from our diet as much as possible and we follow the same ethos when catering for our guests. Most of the foodstuffs we use for breakfast are home made. The meals that we provide in the evening are all cooked from fresh ingredients.
Guests seem to enjoy our house. Our house is clean but It is certainly not the tidiest house you will have seen. There are usually a few bits of clutter lying around. Books, newspapers and grandchildren's art work are often sprinkled around the place. I always tell Christine that a bit of clutter adds atmosphere to a home. She doesn't always agree.
