Dbl Room good access to city centre

House - Private room · Sandileigh Ave, Manchester, M20 3LN, United Kingdom

The Space

Hello, thanks for reading this.

Our house is situated in Didsbury, one of Manchester's liveliest areas with lots of busy bars restaurants and cafes within a short walk. The house is very close to excellent 24 hour, high frequency bus services to the city centre, universities and hospitals. Didsbury has now been linked up to the city's tram system. We are 3 minutes walk from the West Didsbury tram stop, which connects with the city centre via Chorlton. Although close to local amenities, the street is quiet and does not suffer from traffic noise.

We have three rooms that are listed on Airbnb. Two are large en-suite rooms and there is a smaller room, which is not en-suite but which has an attractive adjacent bathroom. The other rooms are listed under "Large Room good access city centre" and "Comfortable en-suite room, Didsbury".

The room you are viewing is our smallest room. It is equipped with a small wardrobe and has a UK standard sized double bed and a small table. The bathroom that goes with this room is large and modern and has a bath with a shower over. We do not offer weekly rates on this room as we like to give longer stay guests the additional comfort of the larger en-suite rooms. If you are looking for a stay of one week or more please submit an enquiry for one of the larger rooms and we will offer a favourable weekly rate.

TV is available in the lounge and wireless broadband is also available. A buffet style breakfast is included consisting of home made breads, cereals, fruit and yoghurt but we are happy to provide a traditional cooked breakfast (£4.00 supplement), packed lunches and evening meals by prior arrangment.

You can see from our reviews that many of our guests have enjoyed our evening meals. We like to cook and we have a wide choice of meals that we can offer. All our meals are prepared from good quality fresh ingredients and all our sauces are home made. Ask us what is available if you are interested. Meals can be taken at the breakfast bar or in the dining room.

The house is well located for Manchester Airport, which can be reached by train or bus, and for the universities. Parking is on-street but safe and there is plenty of space.

  • Bob and Christine are superb hosts. Their house is just a short stroll away from the West Didsbury Metrolink tram stop and the room is comfy. My first Airbnb experience and it was a good one.

  • I really enjoyed my stay at Bob’s and Christine’s house. From the first day on, I felt very comfortable and welcome, not only because of their well furnished, nicely decorated and clean home, but also due to the fact that Bob and Christine are a lovely couple and wonderful hosts. I enjoyed having excellent breakfasts (including porridge or cereals, fresh fruits, home-made bread and more) as well as delicious dinners with them (Christine is a great cook!). Apart from that, the accommodation is situated in a very nice area and the city centre is easily reachable by tram or by bus (only about 100m away). All in all, I had a wonderful time at Bob’s and Christine’s place and would definitely recommend everybody to stay with them.

  • Room was perfect for my needs. Comfortable bed in a quiet environment. Bob and Christine are excellent hosts, and let you get on with your visit. I really enjoyed the cooked breakfast option, and freshly baked bread. Location makes it easy to get into the city centre with the new tram line a few minutes away. They also have (in my opinion) good taste in interior decor! Would definitely recommend this place.

  • Bob and Christine are wonderful people! Their home is comfortable, very clean and full of joy. Christine is an excellent cook and cooking dishes always different every night, delicious! If you are passing through or holiday in Manchester, go to them!
    Thanks to Bob & Christine

  • Bob and Christine are friendly, very welcoming, and lovely hosts living in a delightful house which they have renovated to a high standard. As we only stayed one night we were in the smallest of their bedrooms but no complaints there and the adjacent bathroom was like an en-suite except we had to go out into the hall and into the bathroom next door - no hardship! Breakfast was delicious with freshly prepared fruit salad and home-baked bread. We will be going to Manchester next term and am sure that we will be staying at Bob and Christine's again.

I retired early (4 years ago) from a professional role in order to spend more time with my camera. The camera bit didn't really work out as I spend most of my time keeping house and looking after our wonderful guests. Christine works in admin. We live in a largish Edwardian semi. We are a very sociable couple and we enjoy the social life in our community. When she is not out at work Christine is the nice one who makes cakes, bakes bread and makes our guests feel relaxed and welcome. I do most of the meeting and greeting, preparing our guest rooms, fixing breakfasts, researching local information and all the other little bits and pieces that help to make your stay memorable and enjoyable. We both love cooking (and eating) and we enjoy preparing food for, and dining with, our guests. We try to remove processed foods from our diet as much as possible and we follow the same ethos when catering for our guests. Most of the foodstuffs we use for breakfast are home made. The meals that we provide in the evening are all cooked from fresh ingredients. Guests seem to enjoy our house. Our house is clean but It is certainly not the tidiest house you will have seen. There are usually a few bits of clutter lying around. Books, newspapers and grandchildren's art work are often sprinkled around the place. I always tell Christine that a bit of clutter adds atmosphere to a home. She doesn't always agree.
