About This Listing
Hello, thanks for reading this.
Our house is situated in Didsbury, one of Manchester's liveliest areas with lots of busy bars restaurants and cafes within a short walk. The house is very close to excellent 24 hour, high frequency bus services to the city centre, universities and hospitals. Didsbury has now been linked up to the city's tram system. We are 3 minutes walk from the West Didsbury tram stop, which connects with the city centre via Chorlton. Although close to local amenities, the street is quiet and does not suffer from traffic noise.
We have three rooms that are listed on Airbnb. Two are large en-suite rooms and there is a smaller room, which is not en-suite but which has an attractive adjacent bathroom. The other rooms are listed under "Large Room good access city centre" and "Comfortable en-suite room, Didsbury".
The room you are viewing is our smallest room. It is equipped with a small wardrobe and has a UK standard sized double bed and a small table. The bathroom that goes with this room is large and modern and has a bath with a shower over. We do not offer weekly rates on this room as we like to give longer stay guests the additional comfort of the larger en-suite rooms. If you are looking for a stay of one week or more please submit an enquiry for one of the larger rooms and we will offer a favourable weekly (website hidden) is available in the lounge and wireless broadband is also available. A buffet style breakfast is included consisting of home made breads, cereals, fruit and yoghurt but we are happy to provide a traditional cooked breakfast (£4.00 supplement), packed lunches and evening meals by prior arrangment.
You can see from our reviews that many of our guests have enjoyed our evening meals. We like to cook and we have a wide choice of meals that we can offer. All our meals are prepared from good quality fresh ingredients and all our sauces are home made. Ask us what is available if you are interested. Meals can be taken at the breakfast bar or in the dining room.
The house is well located for Manchester Airport, which can be reached by train or bus, and for the universities. Parking is on-street but safe and there is plenty of space.
We need to be advised in advance if guests wish to bring friends into the house.
Smoking is permitted in the garden.
Our kitchen is not available for guests to cook their own food as we prepare food every evening for guests and for ourselves.
Bob and Christine, what can I say, just wonderful really. They took me in at very short notice, made me feel extremely welcome, their lovely home is a naturally welcoming one and so very clean!
Exactly as described complete with a very nice breakfast and fresh coffee - I only stayed the one night and it was my first experience with AirBnB but they were amazing and I look forward to meeting more fabulous people!
Due to delay at car pick-up at the airport, we arrived near to 12 midnight and both Bob and Christine have been very kind and accommodating host and ensure we have good breakfast next morning as we've to set off to Snowdon very early. Room and toilet true to picture. Easy to locate with GPS even at night. Free and safe parking in front of the house.
This was the perfect place to stay for a few nights in Manchester. Very welcoming, with lovely home made dinner at night and perfect breakfast of yoghurt/fruits/muesli and toast in the morning to start the day. The room itself had everything I needed with a very comfortable bed, a wifi connection and a modern bathroom for private use just down the corridor.
The house is situated in a quiet street (which means you can wake up in the morning with the sounds of birds chirping), with a bus stop at the end with very regular buses to the city centre (which take about 30 minutes).
I stayed here for one night to be near family living in Manchester. The house is lovely, on a quiet street and very handy for public transport. I stayed in the smallest room (without bathroom) but the bathroom is right next door which was fine. The room is a very good size and the bed was comfortable. I had to leave early so I didn't get a chance to sample the breakfast but judging from the rest of the house I'm sure it would have been great! I'd be happy to stay here again.
Bob and Christine know what they're doing! Relaxed and comfortable stay in a nice part of Manchester - with great public transport to get you there.
Breakfast was delicious and no petty hassles - felt like being a friend of the family.

About the Host, Bob And Christine
I retired early (4 years ago) from a professional role in order to spend more time with my camera. The camera bit didn't really work out as I spend most of my time keeping house and looking after our wonderful guests. Christine works in admin. We live in a largish Edwardian semi. We are a very sociable couple and we enjoy the social life in our community. When she is not out at work Christine is the nice one who makes cakes, bakes bread and makes our guests feel relaxed and welcome. I do most of the meeting and greeting, preparing our guest rooms, fixing breakfasts, researching local information and all the other little bits and pieces that help to make your stay memorable and enjoyable.
We both love cooking (and eating) and we enjoy preparing food for, and dining with, our guests. We try to remove processed foods from our diet as much as possible and we follow the same ethos when catering for our guests. Most of the foodstuffs we use for breakfast are home made. The meals that we provide in the evening are all cooked from fresh ingredients.
Guests seem to enjoy our house. Our house is clean but It is certainly not the tidiest house you will have seen. There are usually a few bits of clutter lying around. Books, newspapers and grandchildren's art work are often sprinkled around the place. I always tell Christine that a bit of clutter adds atmosphere to a home. She doesn't always agree.
