The apartment is located inside the historic building Chittarin Renzovich, charming home of Venetian nobility dating back to the sixteenth century, Inside, after a substantial restoration work, during which we wanted to keep intact its natural beauty, we built beautiful and cosy apartments that can match the innovative design with traditional elegance. Its fall face is dominated by a three-light window with balcony, crowned by two splendid marble columns. The name of the building Chittarin Renzovich, that is the name of the noble Venetian family, owned the building until the early '900.
Walking through the streets to reach the apartment, immediately you will fell like being in a a place still inhabited by genuine Venetians who will charm you with their funny "noise" out of the tourist corridor.
To reach the center of the city is easily reached in 15 minutes on foot along the beautiful "Riva degli Schiavoni" to Piazza San Marco, or 5 minutes by boat from the Giardini stop.
Just below the house there is a convenient supermarket when, in the beautiful "Via Garibaldi" will find restaurants, pizzerias, and services of all kinds.

First time in Venice and the location of the apartment was great, St Marks square is around a 12-15 minute walk. Pietro was a really good host, with good communication beforehand and great directions to the apartment.
The apartment itself was very clean and modern and met our every need, very happy stay.
Nice stylish apartment in a good location - if (like us) you want to be in a residential area with local bars, lovely food shops etc. Brilliant location for the Biennale. For us (2 adults/2 children aged 6 and 8) it was perfect and we had a fantastic holiday.
This apartment was very nice. we never had the opportunity to meet Pietro nor could we reach him by email once we arrived. Some woman met us there and let us in. We could not find the washer and dryer that were advertised. she told us if we needed anything just to contact Pietro. I emailed Pietro and never received a response. Thank goodness our son in law was able to find how to connect to the Internet because that was also not explained. We all ended up trying to wash a few things in the sink.
The apartment was decorated lovely but both comforters had
stains on them and the comforter upstairs had hairs on it. It was obvious they both needed to be laundered.
I missed not having contact with the apartment owner. We had been traveling for 20 days and this was the first time that the owner was never available or helpful.
We, couple (´52) had a really nice stay.
The appartment was like it was shown, no bad surprise, everything clean and nice.
Perfect location for the Biennale or people who don´t like to be in the middle of the tourist-stream, which was even mid-september still amazing. Pietro, the owner, was very nice and helpful as well as Tiziana, the person who handed over keys and appartement. She recommended nice restaurants and was also very nice and flexible, we arrived one hour earlier.
All in all - we can reccomend the appartement without any restriction.
Campo Ruga 2 is a wonderful apartment. Castello is a quiet and very clean neighbourhood within 15 minutes walk of St Mark's Square. We always felt safe there. The apartment is spacious and full of character. We had a wonderful time and will definitely want to stay there again.
Things to keep in mind: The internal staircase is potentially hazardous (particularly after a couple of glasses of wine). As depicted in the photos it is polished wood and no bannister/rail. We descended on our behinds at night!
Also, Pietro was helpful when he replied to our emails. However, there was a very lengthy interval in the run-up to our check-in day when we didn't hear from him despite very many emails and contact via airbnb. Be reassured if you find yourself in this situation, he will reply!
Campo Ruga 2 is a very clean well appointed loft apartment, only a 10 minute walk from San Marco Square, in a "real" Venetian neighborhood. We loved being close to the action but off the beaten tourist path (and there are a lot of tourists in Venice). There are many restaurants and shops nearby. We were greeted by Pietro's associate immediately upon arriving at the location, she was friendly and helpful. We found the apartment without much trouble - the streets are confusing, but the map he provided led us there.
The wifi passcode provided can be used at various spots within Venice, but not in the apartment itself.
Caution to parents with young children - there is no railing on the stairs and it is a true loft apartment with no doors to the bedroom. This was fine for our family of 5 with older children but for those travelling with another couple or small children it is worth noting.
We loved this apartment and the location and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone going to Venice.
We went to Venice to visit the Biennale and Pietro's appartment is the best for that. Really well situated on a quiet street close to arsenale and Giardini. The appartment is really nice and silent, brand new with well equiped kitchen. We would definitely recommend it.
Great apartment, close to WaterBus stop for Lido and the beach
Spacious, good air con and in a nice quiet part of Venice.
Great supermarket downstairs and excellent gelati shop on Via Garibaldi
Navigating your way around Venice can be challenging but with a good map, which we picked up at the train station, finding Pietro’s place was easy. Follow his instructions on transfers from the airport and train station - they work. Heads up if you are not taking an active cell phone, calling Pietro when we arrived was difficult because the pay phones at the vaporetto station and nearby shopping area were not working. The local bank placed the call for us; other merchants were not helpful at all. Thank you Pietro for letting us check in really early, even just to drop our bags, pick up the key and head out. The place is awesome; very clean and most of the kitchen gear you need to cook up a meal. Hot water on –demand for 5 adults was more than we could ask for. The tolling of the local church bells made for a perfect Venice experience. Wish we could have stayed longer.
With 4 friends we stayed 4 days at Campo Ruga 2. We had a very nice time. Not only thanks to Venice itself but also because of the very nice appartment. In a fantastic neighbourhood. Thank you very much Pietro and Tiziana!!
