Large 1 bedroom apartment located on the 2nd floor (walk-up) of a building in the heart of the Lower East Side. Located just blocks from the subway and within walking distance of Soho, Noho, East Village and Chinatown.
Great 1 bedroom apartment in the middle of the Lower East Side. It's a quiet space with wi-fi, netflix and hulu streaming and close to subways and great restaurants. There's air conditioning and a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom.
The apartment gets great lighting with windows along one side of it. The bedroom overlooks a private courtyard.
The subway is just 3 blocks away -a five minute walk.
Please be respectful of the neighbors and the space. Please no parties, drugs or smoking.
Le quartier est très bien. Facile d'accès avec beaucoup de vie. Christine est très accueillante et l'apartment fut bien confortable pour notre séjour.
Christine's apartment was excellent for me and my wife! The place itself is a cozy flat, decorated with many art books. Christine left us very clear information about everything, and her availability was super fast. Everything worked very well; the TV, the shower and the Wi-Fi. The best part of it - the location! LES is by far one of the best locations in NYC! Next to very nice bars and restaurants and the Subway is just 5 min' walk. Defanetly would come back if I could. I recommend this flat to singles and couples who are young in their heart and free spirits, seeking to enjoy New York's real beat and motion ;)
Had a coffee with Christone. Really nice young lady..seems part of the techie/artist crowd transforming the lower east side.
Here immediate area is old east side, across from projects. The flat is two floors up an old four-story walk-up.
Very comfy queen bed and good-size livingroom. Bath/shower and kitchen are postage-stamp. Great wifi.
All said, lower rice suit it, and only three blocks from Clinton Street, the start of a re-vitalized, hip lower Manhattan
My now fiancé (he proposed at Rockefeller Center! :-) and I loved our stay at Christine's apartment this month. She wasn't in town when we arrived so she Fed Exed the keys to us ahead of time. Her instructions for getting to/into the building were detailed and helpful.
During our stay, I had questions about transportation back to airport and Christine was quick to respond and so helpful!
The apartment itself is up a couple small flights of stairs. Not what we're used to but not a huge deal either. Had no problem getting up/down them each day. Inside is very cozy with lots of fun, artsy decor, we felt like we were living the real New Yorkers which we loved. There was plenty of room for us to sprawl out and make ourselves at home.
The neighborhood is fun and vibrant, with lots of restaurants, bars and an awesome market with just about every type of food imaginable. We felt safe even when roaming around in middle of the night.
It was easy to get to/from the Delancey/Essex metro stations and to the bus stops when we wanted to travel above ground.
The only (slight) downside was the heater since weather was cold. It could get a bit uncomfortable upon arrival until we plugged in heater and got things warmed up. We're used to central heating, so it was an adjustment during the visit but we had plenty of warm clothes to keep us comfortable while the heater warmed up.
Just got back from staying at Christine's place and this is the first thing I'm sitting down to do, because we loved her place! My wife and I stayed for 3 days and we had a blast. Christine was very accommodating, communicative, and a pro. We was arriving past midnight so she was considerate enough to fedex us her keys, with detailed notes and instructions.
Her place is actually roomy by lower east side standards. I'm familiar with NY and the neighborhood, so the location was great for us. Walking distance to lot's of great bars, and clubs. Also, the Delancey/Essex subway station is just a short walk away. We're super grateful to Christine and wouldn't hesitate to book with her again
Christine is very responsive and available. She wasn't in town during our stay so we didn't get to meet, but she was friendly! If you have been to NYC before, you know what to expect. If you haven't, Christine's place is quite New York, complete with a little doorway arch and wood floors. She's lucky to have found a place with a decent bedroom, in fact! She's made good use of the living room space.
A couple of logistical things - there's no door between the bedroom and living room. The couch is a small 2 seater, so unless you're quite short you shouldn't plan to sleep on it. Neither of these things matter if you're sharing the bed, of course, and are inconsequential in most situations. Stairs don't bother me in the least, but it is true that you need to walk up stairs to get to her place, and it is also true that the building can smell odd. Those things are both standard for NYC buildings, and it does not affect her apartment.
Like everything else in NYC, the location depends on what you're looking for. This location is a few minutes' walk from a metro station and that provides sufficient convenience. The neighborhood has an awesome breakfast/brunch/lunch place (Cocoa Bar) with an equally awesome owner, and a few other cute-looking places and bars. If I hadn't experienced it, I would think as a single female it was a dangerous area, but I saw a huge range of people walking around and they were all friendly to me. Have a good time!
Great Apartment, great location, great host! Christine was super helpful and accommodating. Loved the neighborhood, apartment was cozy and great!
