A bit of info about our lovely city:
Because of the value and importance of its many historical buildings, Verona has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Verona is famous for its Roman amphitheatre, the ARENA found in the city's largest piazza, the Piazza Bra.There is also a variety of other Roman monuments to be found in the town, such as the ROMAN THEATRE of Verona - very close to the apartment! - or ARCO DEI GAVI, Gavi arch, or PORTA BORSARI original Roman city gate to the center.
PORTA LEONI is another ancient city gate which substantial portion is still standing as part of the wall of a medieval building. The street itself is an open archaeological site, and the remains of the original Roman street and gateway foundations can be seen a few feet below the present street level.
Verona is not only a very important Roman site but it has huge heritage from Medieval times. Its medieval architecture is very well represented by BASILICA of SAN ZENO MAGGIORE which is considered one of the great achievements of Romanesque architecture and it is dedicated to the Verona's patron saint, St.Zeno.
These are only a few monuments that you may find in Verona, there are many more in town!
Francesco's apartment is near the university and was well served by buses from the train station. He communicated with me very well, told me which bus to take, and I found it easily. It is very convenient, a short walk to the river & the Erbe Bra. It is well equipped with a complete kitchen, a nice small balcony, a bathtub with hand held shower (though no curtain ) and shelving in the bedroom. It was very tidy and the building itself was quite although the windows are on a very busy street. It did quiet down quite a bit after 10 pm. There is no wifi, which is a shame and the air conditioning was not yet turned on (late May) though Francesco did offer to bring me a fan if needed. The bed was very comfortable. There is an alimentary right downstairs with two of the nicest ladies running it that you can imagine. Very handy for cooking your own food.
Sorry for the delay in making their assessment. Fancesco´s flor is very well. Not far from the center and meets the expectations hastle, because hastle a cheap apartment close to the center. The only complain it would be the lack of wifi, the terrace is perfect to sit a while for a drink after a long day. Thanks Francesco.
I never met Francisco but his girlfriend was very sweet and speaks excellent English. She was very apologetic that the flat was still in the process of being cleaned since they allowed the previous guests a late check-out. It was 6.30 pm and I had been traveling for nearly 24 hours, so I wasn't pleased to have to walk around the block for half an hour. I understand these things DO happen sometimes. People just need to understand that there check-out times are for a reason!
Francesco was a great host! we quickly found an apartment (it is close to the stop). nice neighborhood where many students, home with a patio (beautiful roses) and the apartment is wonderful. kitchen with everything you need, large comfortable bed and a cute balcony. I advise everyone!
Really lovely flat in a nice neighbourhood. We didnt meet Francesco but his Dad and he was really nice as well. We had a lovely time in Verona and would stay there again anytime :)
My mom and I stayed together in Francesco's modern apartment. Upon our arrival, Francesco was very friendly and happy to meet us and show us around. The apartment is clean and vibrant, with a big balcony over looking a quaint neighborhood. The location is prime, just a 10min walk across the bridge to the City Center! During our stay there were no problems, we were both very comfortable and in fact, my mom and I did not want to leave! It is a beautiful apartment in a beautiful city, I hope I can return someday soon :)
I had a great stay at Francesco's, amazing value for money. Really lovely windows and balcony's, comfortable bed, very safe and good central location. Would definitely recommend.
The neighborhood is really nice, peacefull yet full of life due to young students all around the University. And that side of the river is also worth a look around. I even found a little market not far away with fresh local vegetables!
The appartment is cosy and clean, warm and light, with a fully equipped kitchen, which was important for us cause we were with a 5 year old child and sometimes needed to cook. The bath tub is also a great treat after a whole day of walking around!
Francesco is young, open minded but very responsible. We had no problem understanding each other and all our comunication was pleasant. Before we came he was making sure, in detail, that everything would be convinient, answered all our questions and was very easy about everything. We had a flight delay, that slightly changed our plans, Francesco was very kind and understanding about it.
We had a great time in Verona and we loved the appartment! Highly recommended.
It was a nice place to stay. It's definitely very safe, and in a very nice location close to many restaurants, bars, etc. Pity there is no wifi though! But we did manage to steal some from the neighbour. The walls are also abit thin and you could hear the neighbour's TV sometimes (though not that much).
Francesco was a great host! He responded promptly to all our messages and questions, and provided lots of helpful info at check-in, including restaurant recommendations and suggestions for sightseeing at Lake Garda. He also had some helpful brochures and maps available at the apartment, and walked us through the apartment amenities. Wi-fi was available for 10 Euro for our 4-day stay. The apartment was a short walk across the Ponte Navi to most attractions, including Piazza delle Erbe and the Arena. Dish detergent, utensils, hand soap, towels, and linens are provided (no toiletries). The apartment was clean and warm in the wintertime, and it was a great home base for our travels in Verona, Lake Garda, and Venice!
