Leblon is one of the best places in Rio to watch the sunset! Leblon begins where Ipanema ends but the beach is just as beautiful and great to chill out!
This one bedroom apartment is situated in Leblon, the most charming and exclusive neighborhood of Rio. From here you have 5-minute walk to Leblon beach and few blocks to Ipanema beach and from the Lagoon (Rodrigo Freitas). The best restaurants, bar, stores are located a couple minutes from the apartment. You can find at just two blocks from here a convenient 24/7 supermarket.
The apartment come with two air conditioning: one in the bedroom, and other in the living room. It has a double size bed, living room with sofa bed and fan, so the place could host up to 4 people. It has cable TV and wi-fi internet. The kitchen is equipped with stove, fridge/freezer, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans, other utensils & a washing machine is available for your use. The building has security 24 hours.
-The apartment has a new LED TV 32".
-We also bought a soft cover for the sofa-bed following a suggestion by an earlier guest.
-This apartment is located on a second floor not on a first floor as an earlier guest mentioned.
We require a minimum stay of 7 nights during New Year's eve & Carnival
Leblon is an affluent neighbourhood and a beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Leblon is known for being a very cosmopolitan neighborhood, with an agitated nightlife because of its bars, restaurants, nightclubs and commerce. It is located west of Ipanema
It's very much like Ipanema but even more exclusive, being the home of very rich, affluent and famous people. The beach is a bit quieter and relaxed than the hip and trendy beach of Ipanema. It's a neighbourhood of upper class people in the southern zone of the city. It is located between Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, Morro Dois Irmãos, Jardim de Alá channel, bordering the Ipanema and Lagoa.
It had other previous experience with airbnb across different countries.
In my opinion the flat have these charateristics
1) Flexible check in and check out
2) Good communication via email and via telephone with the host
3) Well located flat close to many shops and in a safe area
4) Door man 24 hours per day
5) The kitchen is well equipped
6) Enough room for two people
7) General clean but not the sofa
1) The apartment is very noisy. The apartment is located on the first floor right in front of a street. In particular, the bedroom is very close to the street and during the evenings and nights when cars, motorcycles, people talking passing close to the bedroom that becomes very noisy, and it was difficult to sleep. The windows are very old and they are not sound proof at all.
2) the air-conditioned unit in the bedroom is very noisy when it is turned on. Then it is not recommended to switch on during the nights if a person would like to sleep.
3) the queen bed located in the bedroom is old, with two mattresses (one is a simple layer of foam rubber) placed one above the other.
4) in the living room the sofa bed, covered with an old blanket, which could be an alternative bed, because the noise of the bedroom, was really dirty.
5) the bathroom sink has only a cold water tap.
6) the old boiler is positioned in the shower box in the bathroom. When the boiler produces the hot water for the shower, people could smell the exhausting gas in the shower box which is very dangerous. Furthermore, the water pressure is rather low.
7) The flat is an old one recently painted with very cheap furniture.
8) In the evenings the wifi quality degraded severely.
Overall I would rate this apartment basic and essential and not adequate with the services offered to a customer for such expensive price even in city like Rio de Janeiro.
During his stay Fabrizio did not communicate any of above cons so we did not have the chance to help him to have a more pleasent stay. The apartment was recentlly repainted and a new air conditioner was installed in living room for greater conformt. We installed as well new blinds as a guest has informed us the bedroom was quite light before.
The double bed is less then one year old and the foam under the mattress is used to put above the sofa-bed if this is needed, but as they did not plan to use the sofa-bed we left it under the mattress.
The price is not above average price in Rio de Janeiro for the Leblon area which is the most expensive area in Rio de Janeiro.
The location is perfect to go out and to the beach very safe area.
Rally clean apartment, everything worked as planned. The AC Is a bit weak I you happen to be there in a very warm day. The location is perfect for a real taste of Rio. Paola and Gillermo were really attentive and reachable a all times. I would definetily come back if I decided to stay in Leblon.
We had a great time in Rio. The apartment is in a very good location, close to the beautiful beach of Leblon. The neighbourhood is very safe and next to grocery stores and restaurants. We were traveling with a baby and felt that this was the perfect place for that. The apartment is good, clean and spacious enough for two people (and a kid). Great place!
Paola & Isak were fantastic hosts. They emailed me before our trip to see if we needed any help planning and again a few hours after check in to ensure everything went smoothly and to ask if we needed anything. They were available for questions our entire time in Rio - which is a good feeling when you are traveling to a city for the first time. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. I would definitely recommend Paila & Isak to fellow travelers. Rio hotels are very expensive for what they offer. This apartment was a nice way to save money without forfeiting location. Looking forward to a return visit!
Perfectly located, extremely clean and matching the description. Overall great experience.
A very comfortable, well appointed, clean, well located apartment with washing machine (magical!). Very friendly, responsive hosts. I highly recommend this rental.
My stay at Paola and Isak's was exactly what I hoped it would be. The apartment is in a superb location. I never felt unsafe on the streets of Leblon, even later in the evening. When work is completed on the new section of the Metro through Leblon, the neighborhood will be even better, with quicker access to the rest of the Zona Sul and all the neighborhoods through to the downtown. Now it is a bit of a hike to the last Metro stop in Copacabana. In fact unless you have a lot of time and energy you will want to taxi to the Metro. The apartment is spotless and includes all the basics. There is nothing fancy about it, but it is very comfortable. Hot water worked consistently. Internet was consistent. Doorman always on duty. Within three blocks there are two different supermarkets, Zona Sul and the more upscale Pao de Acucar. There are also excellent restaurants within a few blocks, including the cozy and delicious (and not too pricy) Vegetarian Social Club, the upscale lunch spot Celeiro (delicious, pricey and filled with the elite of Rio), and the CT Boucherie, run by one of Rio's most famous chefs, better known for its meat offerings but with an outrageous all-you-can-eat vegetarian option. Juice bars on practically every corner to complement all the fresh fruit and brazilian coffee from the markets, so there is no need to eat breakfast out. If you like to walk you can also hoof it from here to Gavea, Jardim Botanico, Lagoa, Ipanema and even Vidigal. And you are three blocks from the beach. It's not always the quietest place at night so the sensitive might desire earplugs at times, but it's far from the worst. And since my plane back to the states left late at night, Paola allowed me to keep my bags in the room until well past the scheduled check out time. She took that extra step to make my stay as easy as possible and I really appreciated that. If you are not addicted to paying top dollar for 5-star amenities, and you wouldn't be on Air BnB if you were, I don't think you will be disappointed with this location. In fact I don't think you can beat it for the price, especially once the Metro is finished.
We had a wonderful stay in Leblon at this apartment. The location really is the best feature - walking distance to the beautiful beach, a safe social area with cafes, bars and shopping as well as easy access to Rio's highlights.
We stayed as a group of three - a couple and a single - and it was a bit cramped as the kitchen is tiny, and a person on the couch turns the living room into a bedroom. The only other downside is the shower, but this is brazil and all showers seem to be below average!
All in all we loved it and would stay again. Especially if we returned just as a couple.
We had a wonderful time in Paola & Issak's apartment. It is perfectly located to all the great shops, restaurants and beaches of Leblon. Walking distance to Shopping Leblon, and a large 24h Pao de Acucar(supermarket) around the block. Apartment was very clean, and had everything our family of three needed. Thanks again
