The space

This is my primary residence and my home has 2 guest bedrooms on the first floor (Joy and Wish Rooms). Both the Joy and Wish Room have wall-to-wall carpeting. The Joy room has a queen bed and the Wish room has a twin trundle with another twin the rolls out, but does not pop up. The Joy room is small and suitable for children or a single adult.

Wireless connectivity throughout, with cable TV in the Joy Room.

I also rent my carriage house under "Sara's Carriage House" and my nephew's landscaping business is also run out of the outbuildings.

Guest access

Guests have exclusive use of the 1st floor bathroom and can also use the seasonal, spacious outside shower that has both HOT and cold water. Guests also may use the living room, dining room, seasonal sun-room and brick patio area. I rent to only 1 party at a time and I reside mainly on second floor.

Interaction with guests

I like to meet with my guests at check in, get them situated and answer any questions they may have. Then may see them in the morning or when they return at the end of the day.

The neighborhood

My home is situated on the south side of Route 28 (aka Main Street), which is the original road running parallel to Nantucket Sound. This is a busy road. There are several other interesting antique homes in the area and we are mid-way between 2 roads (Julien and Deep Hole), that travel south to Red River Beach.

Getting around

The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority's H2O route travels past our home and will connect you to Hyannis and Orleans. This method of transport is very slow, so please check schedule online. The seasonal Freedom Ferry to Natucket is only 1/2 mile away.

Other things to note

There are 2 homes on my property and this listing is for the main house in the front, which has a porch numbered 825 on white column by steps. Park in front of white fence in back and enter through the gate. Carriage house is set back and has a plaque that indicates address as 825 Rear. I have a separate Airbnb listing for this house as well. Also, 2 motels in the area for extra guests are The Coachman and Handkerchief Shoals. I may be able to refer you to other airbnb hosts in the area with availability, so please ask.

Sara was a very gracious hostess and was helpful with suggestions of where to go and what to do. The location was great for us as we had never been to Cape Cod so it was very central for us to explore different towns. We look forward to staying again if we make it back to The Cape.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was a very relaxing, well decorated home to stay in. We would like to stay there again in the near future!! Sara's recommendations on biking, beaches, and restaurants were excellent. Added wife really liked her cats.

We had a good stay at Sara's house. She was a great host and helped us get around as we didn't have a car- offered us lifts and let us borrow her bicycles. She also lent us milk and toiletries which was really useful. The house is a good size and there's a lovely garden, but I would say it is very close to the main road and the noise runs through the night. The cats also wander around the whole house (including the rooms) which means there is cat hair around. Aside from the house, you definitely need a car to stay here to make the most of your trip. Although there are amenities fairly nearby, there aren't any pavements or cycle lanes, so a car is essential. Having said that, we got around easy enough with uber.

My mother and I stayed in the Wish Room and it was super comfy. Sara is a kind and welcoming host and always attentive. Mom was impressed by how clean and tidy the historic house is and everything was on the lower level of the house. The shower is accessible for the elderly. We spent time with family nearby but next time I'll take a rinse in the outdoor shower! Or maybe stay in Sara's carriage house nextdoor. Thanks for a lovely Cape Cod stay.

I'm a Realtor on Cape Cod that specialize in second home sales.

I discovered airbnb in 2011, when I went to Venice, Italy with my nieces and nephew and decided to try it with my own house. I love meeting new people and hosting.

Happy Trails...:-)
