About this listing
Charming private residence, located approx 1 mile to the village of Harwich Port and centrally located on the Cape for day trips to Falmouth or Provincetown.
This is my primary residence and my home has 3 guest bedrooms, two on the first floor (Joy and Wish Rooms) and a third (Lighthouse Room), up a steep staircase on the second floor. Both the Joy and Wish Room have newer wall-to-wall carpeting and the Lighthouse Room has refinished hardwood floors.
Wireless connectivity throughout, with cable TV in the Joy Room.
I also rent rooms in my carriage house. See my other listing on airbnb.
Guests have exclusive use of the 1st floor bathroom and can also use the spacious outside shower that has both hot and cold water. Guests also may use the living room, dining room, seasonal sun-room and brick patio area. I rent to only 1 party at a time from 1-5 people and I reside mainly on second floor. My indoor cats Izzy and Simon, have full run of the house and in the off-season, their litter box is located in bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
I like to meet with my guests at check in, get them situated and answer any questions they may have. Then may see them in the morning or when they return at the end of the day.
My home is situated on the south side of Route 28 aka Main Street, which is the original road running parallel to Nantucket Sound. This is a busy road. There are several other interesting antique homes in the area and we are mid-way between 2 roads that travel south to Red River Beach.
The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority's H2O route travels past our home and will connect you to Hyannis and Orleans. This method of transport is very slow, so please check schedule online. The seasonal Freedom Ferry to Natucket is only 1/2 mile away.
Other Things to Note
There are 2 homes on my property and this listing is for the front house which has a front porch numbered 825 on white column by steps. Park in front of white fence and enter through gate. Second home set back, is a carriage house with a plaque that indicates address as 825 Rear. I have a separate Airbnb listing for this house as well. Also, 2 motels in the area for extra guests are The Coachman and Handkerchief Shoals. I may be able to refer you to other airbnb hosts in the area with availability, so please ask.

The house and the room in particular was fine.
Sara 's been very welcoming and helpful .
She prepared vegetarian sandwiches and delicious brownies for me .
she's very clever and she's got two wanderful cats roaming about the place. Good experience throughout.
My grandmother and I spent just under a week with Sara. The house was beautiful and full of character.
Sara was great to chat with and provided lots of great tips on where to eat, where to visit and what to do.
I would definitely recommend staying with Sara. :)
The Room I stayed in was very nice. It had a lot of antique details like lamps and small tables and even the bed made me sorry for not having one of these at my place. It was a perfect starting point for my first visit in Cape Cod. I also loved the outside shower in the garden which I preferred to the bathroom. And of course thanks to Sara the friendly host. I felt very welcome.
Our Stay At Sara's was very nice. Her home is very lovely and cozy and we felt very welcome!
We really enjoyed her hospitality!
Sara was a gracious and charming host! Her home was absolutely beautiful, with all the ambiance you would expect from a Cape Code home. The location was perfect for exploring Harwich Port or Chatham. Cant wait to revisit next summer!
Wir haben uns bei Sara vom ersten Moment an sehr wohl gefühlt. Sie hat uns viel über die Region, Land und Leute und den Lebensstil hier erzählt. Sie ist eine sehr warmherzige und großzügige Gastgeberin. Vielen Dank und welcome at our house in Germany!!
Sara was great and accommodated our late arrival. Her home was clean and very charming. Location couldn't have been better. The cats were also very friendly. We didn't spend too much time indoors since we were only there for 1 night, but we have no real complaints. Only thing is keep in mind when booking is that the house is on a busier street, so sleeping in is not really an option since it was hot so we slept with the windows open. Thanks again Sara for a great stay!
