Charming private residence, located on the south side of Route 28, 1.25 mile of the village of Harwich Port and .75 mile to Red River Beach, on Nantucket Sound. Harwich is centrally located on the Cape for day trips to Falmouth or Provincetown.
This is my primary residence that I share with my 2 cats and airbnb guests. My house has two first floor bedrooms (Joy and Wish Rooms) and a third (Lighthouse Room), up a steep staircase on the second floor. Both the Joy and Wish Room have newer wall-to-wall carpeting and the Lighthouse Room has refinished hardwood floors.
Wireless connectivity throughout, with cable TV in the Joy Room and living room.
I also rent rooms in my carriage house. See my other listing on airbnb.
Guests have exclusive use of the 1st floor bathroom and can also use the spacious outside shower that has both hot and cold water. Guests also may use the living room, dining room, seasonal sun-room and brick patio area. I rent to only 1 party at a time from 1-5 people and I reside mainly on second floor. My indoor cats Izzy and Simon, have full run of the house and their litter box is built in the bathroom under the cabinets (see photos).
Interaction with Guests
I like to meet with my guests at check in, get them situated and answer any questions they may have. Then may see them in the morning or when they return at the end of the day.
My home is situated on the south side of Route 28 aka Main Street, which is the original road running parallel to Nantucket Sound. This is a busy road. There are several other interesting antique homes in the area and we are mid-way between 2 roads that travel south to Red River Beach.
The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority's H2O route travels past our home and will connect you to Hyannis and Orleans. This method of transport is very slow, so please check schedule online. The seasonal Freedom Ferry to Natucket is only 1/2 mile away.
Other Things to Note
There are 2 homes on my property and this listing is for the front house which has a front porch numbered 825 on white column by steps. Park in front of white fence and enter through gate. Second home set back, is a carriage house with a plaque that indicates address as 825 Rear. I have a separate Airbnb listing for this house as well. Also, 2 motels in the area for extra guests are The Coachman and Handkerchief Shoals. I may be able to refer you to other airbnb hosts in the area with availability, so please ask.

Sara was super warm and welcoming without being at all imposing. We had a nice time chatting. The house was super cute, as were the cats! Nice comfy bed with space heater, bedroom has TV with DVD player, to retreat and snuggle up to watch a film... Great location in mid cape. A great experience!
Sara was a great and helpful host with a beautiful home in a really nice community. We'd be excited to stay here again, given the opportunity.
What a charming stay ! The Joy room was really nice. Clean, cosy and well decorated. Sara is a wonderful guest, giving us good advice for Cape activities, bar and restaurants! The organic breakfast rocked and Sara's cats are lovely. Overall a excellent Airbnb experience!
Sara was very welcoming. Although we arrived early, she let us in and everything was ready for us. The house is located near some nice restaurants en perfectly situated for a visit of the towns on Cape Cod. We loved staying with Sara en her two cats very much.
Our five nights at Sara's lovely house were a great way to enjoy the Cape. Sara's suggestions and her great library made trip planning easy. Her house and garden are beautiful and I recommend the beach walks.
Sara's home is delightful and so is Sara. We had a lovely stay and found the house to be bright, clean and very well situated. The outdoor shower was especially nice. Sara was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area which was a great help. Highly recommended.
Sara was very accommodating to our busy tourist schedule. She was easy to communicate with via phone and text and was always available if we needed her. Her house was beautiful and really made our stay in the Cape ideal. There is nothing like staying in an authentic farmhouse full of antiques and interesting details to give you a real feel of the East Coast. The rooms were clean and inviting and the beds were super comfortable. Sara and her sweet kitties made our stay lovely and I would definitely stay with her again.

I discovered airbnb in 2011, when I went to Venice, Italy with my nieces and nephew and decided to try it with my own house. I love meeting new people and having company. Contact me for verification of calendar accuracy and options.
