Charming private residence, located on the south side of Route 28, within 1.25 mile of the village of Harwich Port and 1/2-3/4 mile to Red River Beach, on Nantucket Sound. Harwich is centrally located on the Cape for day trips in either direction, north to Provincetown or west to Hyannis or Falmouth. The Chatham town line is about a mile away. Freedom Ferry is docked at Saquatucket Harbor, approx. 1/2 mile away and is an 80 minute ride to Nantucket with free day parking. Wychmere Harbor Beach Club is 1 mile away.
The layout of my house includes two first floor bedrooms (Joy and Wish Rooms) and a third (Lighthouse Room), up a steep staircase on the second floor. Both the Joy and Wish Room have newer wall-to-wall carpeting and the Lighthouse Room has refinished hardwood floors.
Wireless connectivity throughout, with cable TV in the Joy Room and living room.
Guests have exclusive use of the 1st floor bathroom and can also use the spacious outside shower that has both hot and cold water. Guests also may use the living room, dining room, seasonal sun-room and brick patio area. I rent to only 1 party at a time from 1-5 people and I reside mainly on second floor. My indoor cats Izzy and Simon, have full run of the house..:-)
I like to meet with my guests at check in, get them situated and answer any questions they may have. Then may see them in the morning or when they return at the end of the day.
My home is situated on the south side of Route 28, which is the original road running parallel to Nantucket Sound. There are several other interesting antique homes in the area and we are mid-way between 2 roads that travel south to Red River Beach.
The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority's H2O route travels past our home and will connect you to Hyannis and Orleans. This method of transport is very slow, so please check schedule at:
This pretty room exactly met my needs for a cozy, welcoming place to stay while on the Cape for a quick visit. Sara couldn't have been more helpful and the room was lovely.
Our experience in the Cape was wonderful.
The house is in a good place to visit the most attractive and interesting location nearby...like Nantucket!
The house was comfortable but not so clean as we hope, but the experience was good as well.
Sara&her "baby" (a big and quiet white cat) Izzy were great host :)
Sara's home in Harwich Port has been lovingly restored and felt like home to us. It was a wonderful place for my wife and I to spend a long weekend, exploring parts of the Cape we were not familiar with. The house is a very short distance to the shops on Main street, as well as Red River Beach and Bank St. Beach.
Sara met us when we arrived and showed us around the house. Even though she has 3 rooms available for airbnb guests, she only rents to one party at a time, so we were the only guests there. Sara has her space upstairs, so we were not alone, but felt very private.
Sara, a native of Cape Cod, was very knowledgeable about her neck of the Cape, and helpful with suggestions about eateries and other recommendations for small out of the way beaches.
We spent 3 nights there, enjoying every minute of our stay. We really liked the outdoor shower. Our bedroom, Joy, was very comfortable with plenty of closet and dresser space. She brewed coffee for us every morning and treated us to "meltaways" from a bakery nearby.
We also really enjoyed getting to know Sara a little bit, who is very warm and open to conversation, which were full of laughter and heartfelt words. We would highly recommend staying at her place.
Sara is a very helpful, conscientious and friendly hostess with a beautifully restored house well-located on Cape Cod. She has spent nearly her whole life on Cape Cod, so she knows where everything is and has great recommendations. We went to Cape Cod for a wedding and had a fine time. The house has everything one might need, including excellent wireless internet. My husband and I recommend it!
We had a wonderful weekend at Sara's house. The house is centrally located, and very easy to find right on Route 28. The back yard is beautiful, too, and it was nice relaxing in the shade on the hammock. We've already booked a return visit.
Sara is great host and the house is really beautiful. I recommend this place.
My husband and I stayed at Sara's home for a three night little vacation. Upon arriving to her home, Sara greeted us with open arms and was so accommodating in the space that we needed for groceries etc. She was around if you wanted a great conversation, but also provided us with tons of privacy. She had good suggestions in regards to activities we could utilize on the cape or restaurants to eat at. If you want a truly charming experience away At the cape, then check out Sara's home.
