Our straw bale, adobe, solar and sustainable home is warm and inviting. Our ranch has fruit trees and a vegetable garden. We have a lovely view overlooking our lake and the mountains. The location is perfect for wine tasting in Murphys, concerts at Ironstone, site seeing in the gold country, hiking in the Sierra, playing in high alpine lakes, and skiing in Bear Valley. We are about half way between Yosemite and Lake Tahoe.

The space
This listing is for one bedroom unless you choose 3 or 4 people in the booking reservation, then you get 2 bedrooms.
Your private room is located upstairs with a bathroom. The bedroom is lofty and comfortable, with a ceiling fan, window AC unit (in summer), and heater. It is equipped with light blocking blinds on the window facing the sunrise, to help you get some extra rest :-) A comfortable queen bed with lots of pillows ensures that you rest well.
A whole house evaporative cooler usually keeps the house cool during the summer and a wood stove keeps it warm in the winter.

We can provide you with deep tissue massage, Reiki, and energy healing for an extra cost (contact ahead to book).

We can accommodate a third & fourth person in another bedroom that has a double bed. It is upstairs next to the main bedroom and shares the bathroom. It has a ceiling fan but no AC unit. There is an extra charge per person for this room. You can book this extra room by choosing 3 or 4 people in your reservation, when available. If you are only 2 people and you want separate rooms, set the number of people to 3 and it will automatically reserve the second room for you and add the extra charge.

Our house is sustainably designed with mostly all natural materials and is super energy efficient. We try to live as lightly on the earth as possible and practice some permaculture methods in our garden. We use all natural cleaning supplies and no harsh chemicals.

Our home is part of the Confluence Community, a small group of folks interested in living lightly on the earth and providing opportunities for others to explore deeper connections with self, others, earth, and spirit. We host community events, dances, workshops, and retreats at our community center.

At night the area is very dark and quiet as we are on a large ranch in the country. You will find it a refreshing contrast with the city. There are three other private residences on the property and a community space. There is a lovely short hike (1/2 mile) up to the ridge behind the house with spectacular views. Our niche country abode is quiet and peaceful, and we hope it leaves you feeling refreshed and relaxed.

I enjoy the great out doors and you will never find a day that I am not doing something in my garden, at a river or lake or up in the mountains. Our newest addition to our home are two kitties- Jade and Athena, very friendly. We love to cook and eat very health organic foods fresh from the garden. I offer deep tissue and sports massage from my in home office. My husband also works from his in home office so we are always around the house or property.

During your stay
We are almost always home working on the ranch, gardening and maintaining the land. Please let us know about your arrival time so we can greet you. We also know the area quite well and can tell you about interesting hikes and river spots, and nice places to have a wonderful meal, wine taste, or grab a craft beer. We are often available to socialize but also respect your wishes for privacy.
