Quiet and comfortable large bedroom for two. Stay inexpensively within Manhattan and have access to 5 subway lines to get you anywhere you need to go! Also included, free mobile data hotspot! Please click on the "+More" under Description to read more
This is a simple and clean, private room in a two bedroom apartment in a third floor walk-up. Your room has a full-size bed with clean sheets, clean towels, air conditioning (during the summer), heating (during the winter), a closet to hang your clothes, and plenty of extra space. The door on your room can also be locked with a key. I also provide a free mobile hotspot so you can connect your computer, phone, or tablet to the internet while you are walking around the city! This can help with directions, looking up places to go/eat, or just keeping in touch with friends and family.
Of course you will get a key during check-in and you can come and go as you please.
Aside from your bedroom, you will be sharing the living space, kitchen, and bathroom with the Host (me!). The living space offers a comfortable space to crash after your day of touring NYC. There is Wi-Fi available, a TV with basic local channels (NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC), and other entertainment items (games, cards, PS3, blu-rays). The kitchen is available for you to use and includes a microwave and coffee maker. There is a hair dryer and an iron/ironing board if you need. And the bathroom is always clean and fully stocked with the essentials (soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc).
Interaction with Guests
I will likely be at work most of the day, but I am more than happy to help with anything you need. I have been living in NYC for quite a few years and so I can help with suggestions of places to go, or how to get from place to place. Don't hesitate to ask!
The apartment is located on a main street (Amsterdam Ave, between 131st and 133rd) that is almost always active. There are several quick food options right downstairs (bakery, deli, mexican, chinese), and many other good options several blocks away (italian, japanese, BBQ, american). Your bedroom faces the back of the building, so it is super quiet and private.
The best way to get around New York City is the subway. There are 5 subway lines (1, A express, C, B, D express) nearby. The 1-train on 125th and Broadway is about a 5-7 minute walk away (0.3 mile, or 0.5 km). The A, B, C, and D trains are about a 7-10 minute walk away (0.5 mile, or 0.75 km). There are also three bus lines (M11, M100, M101) running right to the front of the building. Of course I can always help point you in the right direction for most efficient travel to all other spots in the city.
Other Things to Note
Check-in is set for 4:00pm, and check-out is set for 11:00am. These times are very flexible and will depend on my schedule for the day and will need to be coordinated based on whether I have immediately overlapping guests. If you reserve, we will coordinate times about a week before your arrival.
Please message me with any questions you may have and a quick description of yourself if you are interested in booking.
I keep the apartment clean and tidy, and I expect guests to do the same. Very simple, just clean up after yourself. Also no smoking inside the apartment, no parties, and no pets.
We had a wonderful stay at Vincent's apartment. Before our arrival, he was very accessible and easy to contact. He left lots of information for us about the local area. The apartment was clean and very spacious for New York. It is warm and cozy and feels like home. It is an excellent location, too. Vincent also provided us free mobile hot spot. We had access to internet everywhere – it was very useful. We would highly recommend Vincent's place.
Togehter with my travel buddy we stayed at Vincent's apartment.
It was our first airbnb experience and we were very satisified!
The whole apartment (bathroom incl. big shower, kitchen and living room) is clean, comfy and really nice. The room itself is clean too, tidy, the bed is comfortable, there is a closet and it's big enough for two people.
The only minor disadvantage is that the apartment is badly soundproofed, so we heard neighbours talking, dogs barking, but that wasn't a big deal for us.
Vincent was a great host, he provided a lot of information which we received before we even started our journey (a detailed description how to get to the apartment, information about restaurants, supermarkets, public transport etc nearby). We even received a portable wireless internet (which can be very useful in case you get lost on the way)
Vincent is a very nice person and whenever we had any questions he was very helpful.
The location is good too (it took us about 20-30 min to get to times square, broadway etc), there are two subway stations nearby (about a 10 min. walk) and the we felt very safe in the area (even at nighttime).
Overall, it was a great experience and I would definetely recommend staying at Vincent's place.
It was my first airbnb experience and I have been very satisfied!
Vincent is super: he was welcoming and happy to help whenever I had questions about getting around in the city, etc. I think he is the perfect host: kind, respectful and helpful. Vincent also provided all the information to help get to his apartment from the airport.
The apartment was very clean, the room was exactly as seen on the pictures, spacious and comfortable.
The apartment is close to Columbia University and subway stations (10-minutes walk).
I highly recommend this host !
Awesome location! Near Columbia and express trains. Vincent's place was tidy, clean, and safe. Directions and communication was clear and concise. My wife was able to take advantage of the pile of chargers he left in the room in case you forgot yours! Highly recommend.
Me and my friend stayed at Vincent's place from 26th till the 31st of Dec and enjoyed it very much. This is very nice and comfortable place from the point of living and close distance to subway and even Central Park if you guys like to walk:-)Besides Vincent is a very open-minded person and always helpful whenever or whatever you may need:-)He was very attentive to me while my allergy attack for which I'm very grateful:-) We advise everyone to stay at Vincent's place;-)
Vincent is a very welcoming host to us. He provided all possible assistance for our stay in his home and we had a great time there! The place is very cozy and convenient for visitors to New York. I would definitely recommend Vincent's home to future guests because he is a very very nice person to get along with.
A little about me, I am a recent graduate of Columbia University and a startup owner. I keep a fairly regular work schedule, so most of the day I will be out. I have been living in NYC for quite a few years and can help with suggestions of places to go and things to do.
