This was our first trip to Joshua Tree and being based at David and Patti's place was perfect!
It was a last minute booking on our end, and David and Patti were very responsive to text messages and e-mails before we arrived.
The cottage was great, with plenty of space for our puppy to run around safely. It was clean and had everything you needed for a great night's stay. Even fresh coffee for our early morning wake up!
The cottage was also in a great location, a few minutes down the road from restaurants and cafes, and a 10-15 drive from the Joshua Tree National Park entrance on Park Boulevard.
David and Patti greeted us when we arrived and made sure to say good bye before we checked out, what great hosts!
David & Patti have a wonderful little guest house! It was clean and well stocked with cooking & eating utensils. They even had coffee beans and a coffee grinder, which was much appreciated in the morning. After driving all the way in from LA, we were a bit tired of being in the car, and they recommended an awesome little hike that is walking distance from the cottage. The views around the area are gorgeous, especially at sunrise and sunset. David & Patti were very accommodating and were quick to reply to texts, but also made us feel like we had our privacy. I can't wait to come back and stay again sometime!
We came into town last minute and booked online with only a couple of hours notice. David was fantastic with getting everything organised for us and everything was ready on our arrival. The property was clean and tidy and had absolutely everything we needed and more. We felt so at home and David and Patti were lovely and very helpful and hospitable. The area is beautiful and close to all we needed and the property has a lovely view. If we had more time we would have stayed another night. Overall very easy and relaxing stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at David and Patti's Joshua Tree cottage. They promptly greeted us when we arrived, and were very welcoming. The cottage had everything we needed, and made us feel right at home! There were maps to Joshua Tree National Park, along with menus from the local eateries. You can tell they definitely make an effort to provide a pleasant stay for their guests. The cottage is a stone's throw away from Joshua Tree National Park which was excellent. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be visiting again soon!
What an amazing airbnb experience! David & Patti were such generous & helpful hosts! From the very first e-mail, they were quick to respond to our questions & gave us wonderful suggestions about where to go & what to see in Joshua Tree National Park. Their cottage was extremely clean, the bed was comfortable, and the set-up was perfect for our family of four! Our two kids loved the euro sleeper sofa bed in the living room! We appreciated all of the cottage's special touches (guide books for Joshua Tree, menus for local restaurants, easy directions for wifi, & coffee!) The cottage is both close to town & close to the entrance of the park! We couldn't have asked for a better stay for our Joshua Tree adventures! Next time we will stay longer! Thanks again!
We stayed one night and it was a great experience. The screened in porch and the back patio were great outside space. Our little dog was very comfy. David was very gracious and responded quickly to us. We will be back.
David and Patti were great host and we had a wonderful stay. The house was immaculate and the view from home was also great.
We will return to stay next year.
This cottage and the main home were built in the late 1940s. We have owned this property since 1987 and have done extensive renovations. Renovation and remodeling is a life-style with us. Both of us are gardeners. Dave attends to the vegetables while Patti is responsible for the succulents and cacti. Those who visit during the Spring can expect to be rewarded with a variety of cacti in bloom. Retired, Dave not only has time for property projects, he is also available to guests to meet their needs, answer questions, and offer advice.
We both enjoy entertaining. After years of hosting friends and relatives, we decided to open our cottage to travelers. We enjoy meeting people and introducing them to the wonders of the desert. During your visit, you can expect us to respect your privacy but have the reassurance that we are on the property should you need anything during your visit. Our close presence provides security, especially for those traveling alone.
Patti works as an administrator for the local school district and is also an accomplished artist. Her studio is currently under construction and she anticipates a creative surge once it is completed. Dave enjoys outdoor activities. Our mutual love for reading is reflected in the collection of books available to our guests.
Our life-style is very casual and low-key. We've learned to be early risers to enjoy the best part of the day. We do enjoy road trips and visiting out-of-way places. We are animals lovers and our dog, Barney, is an experienced traveler as well.
