David and I had a mix-up with some miscommunication regarding dates, but thanks to his patience and generosity, it was worked out quickly. Looking forward to coming and spending a night here soon!
David was an excellent host. His communication was excellent, the cottage was impecablly clean, and you could tell he cares about the experience he gives his guests. I would highly recommend him. Thank you David!
This cottage was wonderful. David and Patti were both so accommodating, friendly and the place was so cozy and comfortable. It was everything we were looking for and so close to J Tree park! Would definitely book again!!!
Though we only spent one night at David and Patti's guest cottage, it was a very pleasant one! They were really on top of communicating directions and check instructions well beforehand (always appreciated). We arrived pretty late, but getting into the cottage was a breeze, and they had even turned on the A/C beforehand to make sure the temperature was just perfect upon arrival. Thank you again for the wonderful, comfortable stay. If we find ourselves back in the Joshua Tree area again, we'll definitely be staying here!
Davis was quick to respond especially since we're rained out if camping in Joshua Tree and had little options for lodging : the space was was clean and cozy and David was a

Our family of 5 recently stayed in David's cottage. We had a great time - cottage is super comfy and very close to Joshua tree national park entrance. David was very friendly and helpful and the cottage had everything we needed. Highly recommend!
Our stay at David and Patti's Joshua Tree Cottage was perfect! The property was exactly as described - very clean, cozy and comfortable. David was very friendly, always easy to get in touch with and they both came over to say hello/welcome us right away upon or arrival.
We were only in town for a show at Pappy & Harriet's, so unfortunately didn't get to spend much time in JT but will definitely be back and would love to stay with David and Patti again!
About the Host, David
This cottage and the main home were built in the late 1940s. We have owned this property since 1987 and have done extensive renovations. Renovation and remodeling is a life-style with us. Both of us are gardeners. Dave attends to the vegetables while Patti is responsible for the succulents and cacti. Those who visit during the Spring can expect to be rewarded with a variety of cacti in bloom. Retired, Dave not only has time for property projects, he is also available to guests to meet their needs, answer questions, and offer advice.
We both enjoy entertaining. After years of hosting friends and relatives, we decided to open our cottage to travelers. We enjoy meeting people and introducing them to the wonders of the desert. During your visit, you can expect us to respect your privacy but have the reassurance that we are on the property should you need anything during your visit. Our close presence provides security, especially for those traveling alone.
Patti works as an administrator for the local school district and is also an accomplished artist. Her studio is currently under construction and she anticipates a creative surge once it is completed. Dave enjoys outdoor activities. Our mutual love for reading is reflected in the collection of books available to our guests.
Our life-style is very casual and low-key. We've learned to be early risers to enjoy the best part of the day. We do enjoy road trips and visiting out-of-way places. We are animals lovers and our dog, Barney, is an experienced traveler as well.
